They definitely were. Creativity and being so good you leave a long lasting legacy are two pillars of being the best. I've replayed far more games from the 80s and 90s than from the 2000s. Twenty years from now the games from those decades will still be played and loved and the 2000s games won't measure up
Sounds about right. 1990's vs 2000's could go either way. There were so many masterpieces from those two decades it would be difficult to even name them all. What a time to be a kid.

Games from the 90's will hold up forever because the 2D sprite graphics never look dated. They are timeless and perfect.
