more gay rather than cool
This
The art design in ER was an absolute let down and a step backwards in every way
Objectively you're a homosexual
The best yet. People still dont get the color coding because it's actually too deep for morons to grasp.
I'd say no.
Elden ring has more detail, better models, and more variety than previous titles. Bloodborne is still the best with its tightly controlled styles and theme.
You are most definitely circumcised, cut gays are unable to appreciate real art and beauty, i know that you're only praising elden rings armor because of the graphics and nothing else
Why are you thinking about dicks all the time especially in relation to armor in a fantasy game?
Based
You a gay, troony, or a woman. Unfathomably moronic
The best so far (except for the bullgoat armor that shit sucks)
Art direction so good it actually feels like a real culture stylistically. The stone heads, the yellow rope, the purity of gold or silver being shown in hue, the focus on flowers and birds, the imagery being red from foot to head, the side by side duality,
It's a real milestone in creative design.
Probably the deepest armor system you can do using 4 pieces. In hindsight the 4 armor slots leads to amazing fashion.
I like making vagrams armor into a night and flame cosplay adding the drake knight hands and legs to it.
Lots of gear can be made into a pink and blue color scheme for the death bird wieneratrice or Phoenix look.
Theres more terrible than good ones, and for a game with armor altering you cant even match the colors of the good ones.
You can match them you dont have enough pieces.
A lot of cool and distinctive sets, but not many generic-looking pieces you can mix and match to create your own look.
Clothing, light, and medium armors are great. Heavy armors suck dick. Also raging wolf armor is overrated.
Didn't mean to reply
its terrible compared to previous games. just awful
complete junk because you can't get the bowler hat
>cool as shit armor
>3% drop rate from a single enemy in the entire game
>meanwhile
every single shiny in the overworld is an arteria leaf
Lothric knights and their armor are so fricking cool
Shame that the gorget looks awful on the player character when using other helmets, obligatory style tax.
Same kind of brokenness with the Bloodhound set - finally a cool hounskull helmet, but messed up geometry on the player.
Elden Ring Knight set with Carian Knight leggings
If only the vagabond set looked half as good in game. When I actually made my character it looked fat.
elite knight still the champion
>fluted 2020
>ER knight
The ER knights set waist is too wide, makes it look like shit.
I wish it had a few more "standard" knightly type plate armors to mix & match in the middle-high end of poise.
I think the DLC has it covered.
Nothing really lacking, I'm just spoiled by the constant increase of content in each title so I want more.
I hope we get more heavy armors because the current pickings are all fricking awful. I get that arena gays and invaders are addicted to looking like shit, but I can't help but think that fewer people would every use total garbage like the fire prelate or lionel sets if there were alternatives in that weight class
There's the roman-inspired armor shown in the trailer.
Great so far
Ruined by that thing covering the chest
Use the nox guy head covering and it removes the shield from those armors. Skinny godskin head does it too.
shit taste
>le basic knight cosplay
Yaaaaaaaaaawn
Again, ruined by that thing on the chest.
Mages are spoiled.
>have an outfit for every wizard hat
>have an outfit for every robe
>have an outfit for every dress bottom
I did the same on a faith knight and magic has the better options. Lots of knight stuff is filled with, well, knight gear (the basic stuff from soldiers and knights).
Do volcano manor if you care about fashion at all. You'll feel the absence of those sets if you dont.
frick are you talking about moron he just hates that thing on the chest
Didnt mean to link ya bud my bad. Remove the shield with a head piece, a couple cover it up.
I'm not your bud, pal
The wizard hats in this game are scuffed, anon.
>alberich
Sits way too high on the head it looks like loose witch Halloween cosplay
>preceptors
Cool hat but welded to a goofy mask you can’t remove
>rogiers
The best so far but stuck to silly white head wraps. Altering the set REMOVES THE HAT.
They’ve all got something off about them.
Nah it's all great
Alberich's hat looks good with the high collar that set's cloak has. I don't know if any other sets can produce a similar effect though.
>not liking the preceptor mask
Now that's what I call gay.
just let me be big hat logan anon i dont want to larp as a pedophile
>I dont want to larp as a pedophile
You can larp as the reigning king of miscreants instead.
Hey
He's a rapist, not a pedophile
again, basic b***h with shit taste
Better armor, shitty helmet.
You're insane, shields on the breast are kino and not seen in nearly enough games.
Not every game has people wearing a heavy piece of jousting equipment for no reason
I'm ignorant when it comes to armor.
Were those breastplates an actual thing? If so, do they have any practical use or are they purely for aesthetics?
Prevents someone stabbing you in the heart and yeah they worked.
Kek
They were extra armor specifically for jousting and would not have been worn outside of that context
Jousting is ceremonial you'd wear it at any event that you were stationed at. If you arent jousting for hours you are walking around in your livery to show off your station. Same with your plumed helm.
They became a thing knights used as shields during jousts (aka the target of one's lance). This was because by then plate armour was so advanced that no knight bothered carrying a shield anymore.
They had a practical purpose but it wasn't a war-based one.
The best armor sets in gaming.
they're trash just like the rest of the game
I think it's the weakest fashion souls. Most pieces don't mix and match very well.
I'm not huge on Elden Ring armor sets. It isn't so much that they're bad. It's just that nothing really stands out to me personally. I don't have anything I particularly love. It's all just feels so utterly generic to me.
Mostly I just want something more simplistic, like something an adventurer would wear that looks like it's combat ready but also comfy.
try the banished knight unaltered chest+head
terrible drop rate but looks amazing
That's pretty much what I wear currently. And it's the only thing I wear. I don't care for much of anything else.
I love viking style armor, but god I hate helmets that show the characters face. Kaiden set was the perfect style at least.
I feel like I should love the Kaiden set, but I just don't... I don't know. I can't explain it. I never felt like I did with the Benhart of Jugo set or the Millwood Set.
Because its Saxon not Viking. Seems like a minor difference but it would be significant to them.
Vikings didn't really use scale but Saxons would have had access to it from the Romans
kind of wish they'd let us remove the pelt for varietys sake
unfortunately you posted a Dark Souls 2 picture, so your opinion is worthless
Regardless of how you felt about 2, they had some great armor sets. Don't care for the game itself that much, but yeah, they had great armor.
>tfw my favourite set of armor in the whole series is DaS2 only
Throne Defender never ever
For me it's Velstadt's set. Frick I love that shit.
>Blinded by hate this much
It's a shame we'll never get proper discussions about the cool bits in any souls game with homosexuals like you lurking about.
>Benhart
My homie. I loved that set. The first time I saw that guy, I immediately wanted his armor. Doesn't help that NEED to wear the Moonlight Greatsword in every FROM game.
I was so happy Dark Souls 3 had that Viking set from the DLC forgot it's name. Then I could RP as Benhart.
Elden Ring doesn't have anything similar. It sucks.
>Viking set from the DLC
Millwood Knight armor. One of the best.
forgot pic
how can you say this and post dark souls 2 armor which is all mostly goofy high fantasy anime tier shit?
pretty good, I would say the best
Most of the ER sets look very ritualistic or ceremonial, where as a lot of DS sets look like actual armor. But let’s be real, everything has been down hill design wise since the Faraam armor.
faraam is some normie-tier skyrim. its over the top "epic".
>i-it's too good so it's bad!1 also skyrim for some reason!!
Hefty cope, my friend.
Yeah I could never find a look in ER I liked, unlike FromSoft's past games. Even the King's Field and Shadow Tower games have cooler armor designs than Elden Ring.
Doesn't have the Heide Knight armor set so it can't be the best. But the variety in ER is very good.
Heide set looks like shit, low poly, blurry, shit cape physics
On the contrary ER has a good looking greathealm
It's leans a lot more towards fantasy than Dark Souls
Elden Ring has great options for cloth armor and non-standard sorts of fashions, but if you want to just be a generic "dude in armor" kind of knight, Elden Ring is seriously lacking in good options, which is strange since Souls games have always had really good generic knight armor.
>but if you want to just be a generic "dude in armor" kind of knight
This was always a meme as much as Guts roleplay
Elden Ring has the only realistic knight set Fromsoftware ever made
>tiny head
The head is proportional, you must draw like a child or worship Liefield
I don't care about realistic, I care about good looking, and I've never really liked the look of that set. The idea is there, but something about the execution is off and I can't quite put my finger on it.
Knights are cool, and while I can appreciate the sorts of unique, stylized designs Elden Ring has, I'm also a fan of simple, basic designs as well.
>I'm also a fan of simple, basic designs as well.
It's become a meme like Guts. You are self inserting as fluted knight guy and its prepare to die minded to me. I can imagine you screaming demanding harder trials after you kill some sewer rats, murmuring about how you're doing this for your waifu.
I think you're projecting.
You seem like you have some personal issues.
It doesnt look like that at all. I see you as a meme, I dont see myself as one. You didnt like what I said and handled it poorly is all.
You're literally making up your own headcanon based solely on the fact that I said I like basic designs.
>You're literally making up your own headcanon
He made fun of you
.....by being absolutely moronic and mentally ill.
Scaled Set >>>>> Havel Set
I fricking hate how so many ER sets make you have a tiny head. The Raging Wolf set looks like SHIT because of this
Protip - scale your head up or down to first the set at fifa's mirror.
You can do this with legs too for fat or thin legs.
The Raging Wolf Set specifically creates bigger problems because the head is too thin, it's a decent length. So it looks moronic no matter what you do
You can tell its DaS2 inspired, problem is they keep reusing it when it looks moronic. It makes your head look like it would be broccoli shaped.
reminds me of that one head piece from armored core
It's meant to be this. But for some reason they always scale down the helmet size. And I have no idea why.
>objective
I prefer Dark Souls armor to ER armor
Remember when DS3 made armors useless and a fashion statement?
Fricking homosexuals
>Remember [schizo babble]
I remember when they fricked up the character mesh and no armor actually fit except the base knight set and all of them made you look fat as shit unless you went into the character creator and gave yourself a recessive chest cavity
I liked it
they are rather silly and cartoonish
Elden Rings armor are the ugliest in the series. Most sets clash if you try to do fashion souls and even the sets that all go together look ugly the only good looking set in the game is the Carian Knight set everything else is dreadful.
Lots of variety but mixing different pieces is fricking hard because every set has its own slightly different shade of gold/gray/whatever so 90% of the time it doesn't match with the other pieces.
For all of its faults Lords of the Fallen has the right idea with tincts and I hope From will do that too
I just counted, I'm holding
>48 head pieces
>59 chest pieces
>43 arm pieces
>60 leg pieces
that I use in outfits. At 20 endurance using 23 lbs of weapons.
I'd say the fashion is there. The key is mixing and matching pieces.
>almost make the best looking armors in the game, let alone all the modern FromSoft ARPGs
>frick it up with stupid dragon wings that make no sense
>frick up the helmet even further with a giant horn on top
What the FRICK were they thinking?
My only problem with that set is the dildo on the helmet. That's it. Everything else I like.
I fricking hate the wings, they look so stupid. It could have just been a great leather and chain mail set with a cool scarf. How could they frick up something so basic?
I'd wager that design comes from a dev member's son wanting it in. It's got that deviantart rule of cool style of design.
I'm more disgusted by this than that one. Ironic when both can be found in the same dungeon.
Its showing how the dragons poisoned marikas line by having godwyn be a crucible follower. Its kino.
>3/4 piece are golden
>gauntlets are just a shit black
The wings look awesome for any vaguely evil-type character, but the helmet is lolworthy no matter what.
If only they'd had a "normal" version in addition to it, then no one would have a problem.
In universe dragon cuckold canonically frick it up at the 1 yard line going too greedy. The design fits.
The wing cape looks cool as hell, the only problem with the set is the head horn.
Just use the red noble cape and alter the chest to take off the dragon wing
I really wish the noble hoods could be altered to wear them with the hood down.
But I LIKE the scarf and feathers
Soon, boy
Is someone making a mod to remove the horn or something? What do you mean by "soon"
The only things needed to be removed are the helmet horn and the wings. Keep the plate, keep the chain mail, keep the horns on the other parts of the armor, keep the feathers and scarf.
If you removed everything stupid from this set you'd be left with something like a red t-shirt and black shorts.
>red t-shirt and black shorts
Peak fashion.
It looks like someone made a bunch of armor while being weirdly careful to not make any sane, good looking, or normal armor, because they already made that armor and are trying to stand out from their past work.
Banished Knight with something else instead of the moronic duck feet is the only choice if you're not a clownsuit enthusiast.
Havel's set would kill itself if it knew the Bull Goat set was its legacy
Elden Ring's armor sets suffer from an overdesign problem, especially their heavy sets (can't mix and match them most of the time without heavy clashing). It's still got some nice sets, but without a way to alter color or level up armor stats your options for looking cool get pretty constrained in the lategame if you want good poise.
What's really great about DS2's armor is how well it mixes together.
There's some individual sets in Elden Ring I like but in my opinion everything too grandiose and stereotypically over-the-top fantasy. I really want some more toned back equipment for the DLC.
FS's art department peaked with Dark Souls 1 and it's been a slow decline down ever since. For example how enemy design went from 'maintain their dignity, undead enemies should look more depressing than outright gross' to 'here's a BIG MAGGOT UNDEAD who spews MAGGOTS ALL OVER YOU and THEY GET IN ALL YOUR ORIFICES' in 3.
>Swollen toxic-pus filled hollows that leave behind stink clouds
>Big rotten fat guys
>Giant leeches
>Mosquitos
>Rotten piles of slime
From's been consistent with the application of that quote, it's just that you misunderstand it due to a nostalgiagoggled/contrarian elevation of DS1 as some super serious artistic achivement.
>Seriously trying to argue that DS1 is as consistently revolting as DS3 is through the entire game
The shit in the blight town swamp is literally just big insects. Meanwhile almost every level in DS3 has you walk through a literal open sewer
>almost every level in DS3 has you walk through a literal open sewer
Why even bring up Blighttown, to which you travel through a literal giant sewer to a big poop swamp.
>literally just big insects
Maggots are just insects, by the way.
Leeches are not maggots.
>Why even bring up Blighttown,
To point out that even DS1's grossest level is still less revolting than the average DS3 level. In fact, let's go through all of them.
Undead village has a swamp and caged enemies that throw poop at you, then you walk through the farron woods pond to get to the farron poison swamp.
We detour to to the cathedral of the deep, which you reach by going through a graveyard full of maggot infested zombies. Also the cathedral itself is full of actual poop.
After the Farron swamp you go into the catacombs of carthus, which might be a reprieve from the grossness by at least being dry, but nope, everything is moist and gross.
After that is the smouldering lake, because the DS3 devs decided that even the fire level should be a big open pool of water full of fungus infested weirdos.
Then you get to Irithyll. At first it finally seems like we have a clean and nice looking level, but then the devs relapse and we have to walk through a stagnant pond and an actual open sewer.
As punishment for the last level being mostly not full of poop, they go really hard for the next two: Anor Londo is a defiled version of the iconic level from DS1, completely filled with poop and slime monsters and abominations and a half eaten legacy character been tortured for thousands of years by a guy who was so gluttonous and evil that he melted into sludge, who's constantly eating and raping his lower half.
Then we get to Irithyll dungeon, which is literally a rape dungeon full of human experimentation byproducts and human feces.
Then you find an inexplicable church, the only building remaining of whatever Yorhm's civilization was, and it's completely surrounded by toxic poo, and full of those revolting hand hippo monstrosities. At least after that you get to do lothric castle, which is just brutal instead of gross, although you can take a side path and end up in the King's Garden, IE, The King's Open Toxic Sewer.
Yikes
I didn't see any poop in my playthrough, George.
That's a damned lie. There are no fewer than 4 pools of poop that you have to wade through just to complete the game.
You can apply the same criteria to Dark Souls
For Undead Burg you go through a sewer and get attacked by a giant rat, then kill zombies until you reach zombie dogs piling burning bodies commanded by a giant demon with a capra head. You can get to a garden infested by possessed plants and serpents or go in giant sewers also full of rabin dogs, cannibals. After that you reach corridors full of giant rats and black vicious slimes dropping on your head, as well as weird reptilians with cursing breath, then get to the bottom of the sewer to a giant dragon with a massive vegana where the body should be. After that you descend further into the basin of the sewer down to shanty town of corrupted demons, giant disgusting bugs and more fat cannibals covered in shit. Down below there's more disgusting demons and giant worms coming out of the walls, finishing with a giant centipede boss.
You are being purposefully disingenuous. I bet you are a DS2homosexual.
Nice look.
>For Undead Burg you go through a sewer
No you don't, it's an aqueduct
>and get attacked by a giant rat,
It's just a big rat
>then kill zombies
DS1 zombies aren't cross
>zombie dogs piling burning bodies commanded by a giant demon with a capra head.
Spooky, but not gross
>You can get to a garden
How the frick is the bright green forest level with topiary golems and mushroom people gross?
>or go in giant sewers also full of rabin dogs, cannibals. After that you reach corridors full of giant rats and black vicious slimes dropping on your head, as well as weird reptilians with cursing breath
Here you are pretending that the depths is more than one level. Also it's not even particularly gross.
>then get to the bottom of the sewer to a giant dragon with a massive vegana where the body should be.
>After that you descend further into the basin of the sewer down to shanty town of corrupted demons, giant disgusting bugs and more fat cannibals covered in shit. Down below there's more disgusting demons and giant worms coming out of the walls, finishing with a giant centipede boss.
Nothing about blight town indicates there is shit anywhere. The enemies are scary, not particularly gross. The bugs are just oversized bugs. The demon ruins look positively sterile and the demons that inhabit it are brutal and mean, not sickly in behavior or design, other than ceaseless discharge, and even he just looks to be in pain.
The only genuinely offputting level in DS1 is lower blight town, and it being an outlier makes it more effective.
>You are being purposefully disingenuous. I bet you are a DS2homosexual.
No, I am an elden chad
Excuse me, lower new londo.
>some giant dud e is cutting human meat at a table and throwing the remains at a giant bloated rat
>smiles literally falling on your head eating you alive
>reptilians with giant fake eyes jumping around
>>B-BUT IT'S NOT GROSS BECAUSE I SAY SO
You are a fricking clown, eat shit and die
>Nothing about blight town indicates there is shit anywhere.
Except enemies having it in the loot table
>No, I am an elden chad
nice attempt at falseflag, cretin
It's true, it's not gross, it's just a bit spooky. "oh no a dragon quest slime dropped down on me from the ceiling!" There are ocarina of time dungeons more unsettling than the DS1 depths. The only gross level is lower new londo, which is covered in human corpses and has those actually fricking revolting corpse blobs that shoot rot all over you to slow you down so the dark wraiths can get you.
>Blighttown isn't gross
>but lower New Londo is
moron
I'd drink the water in New Londo ruins. Looks crisp as all hell.
You don't get to decide what is gross and what isn't
>and basically no rock armor
It has Scaled Armor that shits all over the cartooney goofy Havel set
I would say the Bullgoat set is the true successor to Havel's even if it isn't rock
those are women
kino post. das3 gays in the POOP
>Literal outcasts that have been abandoned to a virtual wastepit with all the other freaks because they're so abhorrent
>victims of elitism, clearly the dregs of acceptable society
>two non-humanoid enemies
>wastepile of society
The point is that even the gross humanoid enemies have some hidden depths to their ugliness, and all other ascended creatures like dragons also have their own dignity even if they're unsightly
But Bloodborne broke Miyazaki's brain
>The point is that even the gross humanoid enemies have some hidden depths to their ugliness
That's true for Dark Souls 3
No it isn't. DS3's visual design is much more intentionally and maliciously revolting.
>DS3's visual design is much more intentionally and maliciously revolting.
weird stance considering it's more inspired to Demon's Souls than Dark Souls is
That said, I disagree that From's been getting worse about this in general, it's really only DS3 that's fricking disgusting, both Sekiro and Elden Ring were much more tame in this regard, and also segregated the gross stuff to its own levels much more often
Elden Ring armors have one major problem which is that the overall shapes are too similiar. All the hoods are the same, all the robes are the same, all the capes are the same, all the pants are the same, all the gauntlets are the same etc. trying to make mix and match outfits is trash because there is not enough variety in the dimensions and positioning of different armor elements. The colors are too damn muted, and the fabric physics are a step down from DS3 it's like everything is made from sack cloth and there are no loose bits that can dangle or wave as you move. ER has the worst selection of hats in a From game, they're so fricking generic and samey.
Better looking in terms of detail, less useful in terms of gameplay.
Armors are cool but the helms are garbage
Vagabond >>>>>>
90% of the armor is recolors and alterations. Can't really fashion anyway because no armor boosting and only the top few armors have enough poise to make it through a dagger swing. You will almost always be brainlessly selecting the heaviest armor you can afford to wear. There doesn't really seem to be better armor, just heavier armor. The differences between armors of similar weights are miniscule. Only armors worth wearing besides the heaviest are niche ones like mushrooms for status defense and that is only Imin particular situations. Bring back armor smithing.
Meh, elite knight from DS still the best.
I like veteran's set with Blaidd head.
I think the sets are too disparate, some look alright when completed, but if you mix and match the colors, details, grime, lighting and shading all look off like different artists did each set independently.
There was no unification to make them look consistent so they look lousy when mixing and matching.
Also the head size for all of them that cover head is way to small, it would have been nice for someone to review that before release.
Left looks like shit ingame and I’ll never not be mad over it. The chestplate is moronicly oversized and the chainmail sleeves constantly flapping around look shit.
Were gonna get their armor in the DLC right?
That heavy jar chucking dude looked like his armor was inspired by them. The malformed dragon hands can be added if nothing else looks stony.
I sure fricking hope so
Extremely disappointing honestly. Very little cool, unique sets. 75% of them are samey looking knight armors, with many recolors. A severe lack of leather and cloth as well.
The best fashion souls is by far DS2, simply the largest amount of gear.
Lord Miquellabart... forgive me... your comrade remains soulless
Not a fan of armor in those games because it makes you so slow and evasion is always more important.
But Elden Ring had a furry wolf mask which was pretty cool.
Lords of the fallen has made me want color sliders badly in the coming DLC
>LoTF
FROM themselves did an impressive job when it comes to customisation last year with AC6, what with letting you select marerial type, weathering,..etc.
I just wonder if they would let a souls game have it...
STOP USING A FRICKING CRUSADER GREATHELM ON FULL PLATE ARMOR! IT LOOKS FRICKING TERRIBLE! IT ALWAYS DOES, ALWAYS HAS, AND ALWAYS WILL!
You're the only moron that thinks so, so No. Your arbutrary autistic compulsions/demands don't affect the rest of us.
More fantasy than practicality but there are still some really nice ones (banished, tree sentinel, veterans, etc.).
They do a better job of fitting thematically. Even generic knight armors have small details and design so you know which faction they belong to, and the more fantastical pieces have narrative lore as to why they look that way.
PLIN PLIN PLON
>Make the best light armor set you would ever make
>Lock it up behind female body type
>Can't respec or change or character model
>lock the game behind PS4 for extra measure
>Don't make a light armor remotely as cool ever
What did they mean by this?
>wanting to cosplay a vampire
Ew
Haslow’s set is the closest i can think of
Maidenless incel with no rizz
The briar set fricking pisses me off because it's legitimately one of the coolest medieval looking sets in the entire game and it's ruined by the briars surrounding it. I wish you could at least alter them. Looks great with the blasphemous blade though
Elden Ring has a lot of good armours but there is a suspicious lack of true standout fashion. Like the older games had a fraction of the sets Elden Ring has, but plenty of iconic sets.
More theatrical, which fits with its more grandeur themes as opposed to Dark Souls. Not saying one is better than the other, simply different.
They dont compare, each has their own thing. I personally dont like the wolf armor. Also, all I want is to be able to wear the undead soldiers's rags, specifically this hood, and the skeletal bandit horned helmet, and that skeletal soldier helmet and sword, ok I NEED TO WEAR THEIR RAGS , OK? I NEED, HEAR MY PLEA MIYAZAKI SAMA, I MEAN IMAGINE THE LEWDNESS OF IT ALL, PLEASEE HELP AIIIEEE---
PPhts..PP
I want to wear this dude's set even though its a slightly edited Yahargul set.
You know? I hadnt noticed that, it does feel like the Yahargul set, its just missing that magnificent bevor and helmet. Its so unfair we cant get these. I see no reason why we cant also get the beastmen and the Omens loincloths and sorted discs and bangles. OH and the wormfaces , shawl-cowl thing.
Oh hey, i have the perfect image for this
Here i made a side by side comparison of every "similar" set (minus dlc) of das3 and ER, it serves as a decent comparison for the whole series since das3 has sets from all 3 games.
1/3
As you can see ER has far less full plate and basically no rock armor, which is a shame since both the giant guardian golems and the crystalians would have been cool sets.
2/3
I general i would say i prefer das3's aesthetics over elden ring's, as it tends to have fall more on the realistic and simple side than er's more fantastical and garish looks (both still have elements of fantasy though, dark souls is just more subtle with it)
But ER is still pretty nice and has some of my all time favorite like the Kaiden, Banished or Carian Knight set
3/3
A static image doesn't do justice to the deacon and pope robes because they are so animated in motion.
This one is a comparison from des to er, des has almost no fashion so its a smaller image
I would say this counts to all sets since BB where the cloth physics improved dramatically but i get what you mean, they were both very flowy
Scaed is a mix of rock and steel and yeah its one of the more conservative sets of ER, but in general it feels they push the fantasy part too hard.
Yeah i put Bullgoat to the side of Havel as they feel the "biggest set" of each game
There are always stuff you cant get in these games, ER is overall good in letting us wear almost everything. I seethe to this day i cant get Pontiff's set.
2/2, the male/female exclusives
So many sets have an "off-cape" option, its weird how Kaiden didnt get one.
I like what i saw so far though,
this being a highlight.
Cuckoo... my beloved armorfu...
My cuckoo brother
DS2 light armor shits on ER's choices
>Agdayne set
>Grave Warden set
>Astrologist set
>Peasant set
>Black set
>Black Witch set
>Desert Sorceress set
>Lion mage set
>Lucatiel set
>Fume Sorcerer set
You get so many unique looking pieces in that game.
>No way to restore Vyke's armor back to its prime state pre-fingered
FRICK!
I miss the peepee poopoo man coat from DS3.
I feel individual sets can be really good in ER but not so good for mixing with other pieces.
too much clipping and there's only 5 sets with actual poise
DLC will hard carry this shit game
The DLC armors that were shown didn't look all that good either.
They're okay, we have to see them with in-game lighting
Yeah I get it you like Lapp with a cape but the game already has a bunch of chunky metal chestpieces that come with pants that only look okay with that specific chestpiece. It does nothing to fix the absolutely ridiculous scarcity of versatile and unique looking armor pieces in the game.
I dont know about versatile, but what is not missing in ER is unique pieces.
I guarantee that the perfectly round shield seen here won't have 100% block.
100% block is toxic and should be reserved for shields with true drawbacks.
100% block is a meme
I would take 80% with great guard boost over 100% with average every single day
I seriously hope that AOW doesnt suck.
>AOW
It's a new weapon type according to Miyacarkeys
>started playing the game a few days ago
>try some fashion when I'm bored
>reading threads, realizing banished knight armor is rare and anons lust over it
>randomly dropped it on my first few hours of playing
I dont even like the look of it and I dont have the head piece yet, but that was pretty funny to me
>first few hours
you moron
people like the unaltered head and chest
you can only get the unaltered chestpiece in castle sol
>tons of gay clothes
>2 knight and infantry armor sets with recolored crests copy pasted 7 times over
idk if the worst fashion souls but definitely not good
Black person you wish past games had variants you could use, so many armor sets were lost to the
>you only can have 1
Rule.
warrior, bandit, chain mail from DS1 still have the most SOVL
honorable mention to Velstadt's from 2
Needs more generic knight sets, especially for helms
Each armor represents some kind of faction in the way they are stylized and colored. They put much effort into it but I would have prefered more pieces that are "factionless". Roleplay wise I never take sides in games so it often clashes with my headcanon. Also too much fabric based armor.
I don't fricking know, they look alright I guess, just wish we had more light armor so I can light roll while wearing something other than fricking rags
highest highs and lowest lows. Elden Ring is especially bad, since poise is so important for pvp, but almost all the heavy armors are ugly af
For me, it's the ugly helmets with important effects. Like the mushroom hat or the white mask.
metaslaves don't deserve good fashion
>implying ER has good fashion at all
fashion issue
If ER has no good fashion then why are you complaining about ugly helmets ;)?
I share his sentiment, meta slaves like your pic dont deserve good fashion, want to play "optimally"? Dress like the clown you are.
How the frick is poison build optimal? You shouldn't have to look like a clown just to break away from the actual boring ass meta. You think Serpentbone is anywhere near Moonveil or Rivers?
why do you want to make poison builds but not look like a poison character?
>if you don't want a moronic mushroom hat you're a metaslave
>if you play poison you're a metaslave
>if you wear armor you're a metaslave
>if you don't wear armor you're a metaslave
>poison
>metaslave
Are you serious?
NTA, but poison is actually quite good, because it applies fast, does decent damage, and you can punish the bolus
yes? poison barely matters in this game you never need to wear that stupid outfit
>lake of rot
you will get rotted anyway, again, useless.
I don't think you should even have those effects on gear except talismans, ofcourse, Like, to me, fashion should be the driving force behind your characters armor, not the stats. That's why I think Bloodborne or even DS3 did it right
I thought they've basically removed poise from pvp
They didn't, stop listening to reddit
Use bull goat talisman.
They made it far less important but its still a thing.
most r1s will break poise but anything after that is poise dependent.
Not as good as DSIII or BB, better than the others
Malenias armor looks so fricking good.
Same shit art direction as Dark Souls 2
