Getting new characters in Genshin isnt fun because the grind to make them useable is unbearable. In Star Rail, new characters are useable the night I get them with a couple hours of auto battle grinding. I can't go back. My Furina will stay mediocre in Genshin while I continue to max random 4 stars in Star Rail who I may never use, just because I can.

I do both artifact and auto relic run together with whale borrowed characters on my SR account.
Funny shit that my five artifact runs cleared faster than my five relics auto run, I blame the shitty burst animation that took almost forever for each characters even with faster animation speed.

Yeah, I looked at the rewards for SU modes and noped the frick out after realizing it's only a couple days of dailies worth of gems but each run could take upwards for 20mins to finish. Incredibly bad returns.

I am on the verge of quitting because of this. I still have no bodies or boots on the FUA set, and I need 2 full sets for Topaz and Himeko, as well as the 2pc for Clara, despite farming that shit since it came out. I can't believe they managed to make the relic system even worse then artifacts.
I actually really was into the story and characters up to 1.3 or 1.4. Starting there, they started padding the dialogue to no end and doing the genshit thing where every single dialogue line can't be skipped for the first 2 seconds so you're forced to waste time even if you don't give a shit about a specific event.
The game has become incredibly easy to upkeep, dailies are the easiest thing ever, but the whole game and events are just boring now.
I'm still playing, but after 2.0 I'm out. At least until 3.0.

In Honkai I can just auto everything and do something else at the same time. The dailies take less than 5 min to do. I only really play the game when there's an update. Genshin should do the same, let us auto for mats.

After the pokemon battle event in Belobog, Huohuo's event was a massive downgrade, it even worst than the Sushang's Market Events where it was full of actual content with nice pacing.
Ghost event is literally genshit tier of VNslops and reused minigame assets, while the new one barely exist.
I enjoyed it a lot because the SoL shit in Genshin/HSR is way better than the main plot because chinks are unable to write a good serious story to save their lives, it's better if they focus on casual stuff instead.

It's not that it has fallen, it's that other modern gachas have emerged with tons coomershit. FEH has chibis and PNG with four voiced lines and you can count the decent coomershit on one hand, that's all. Add to that the fact that they do not invest in advertising at all.
Eh I think FEH is doing very good for itself. Average 3-5mil per month for a fricking chibi game means they're making money hand over fist. I just wish they'd market it more and focus on improving the gameplay because the core is very good. Most other gacha would LOVE to still be making that much money 8 years in.

I like a lot of the random modes they have, and there are some they don't run anymore I miss. Grand Conquests I think we only got twice last year, Relay Defense was axed years ago, etc. Newer modes like Seer's Snare are insanely good and fun, but Affinity Autobattles was complete dogshit.

I think they can go back and update old modes more. More maps and buildings in aether raids. Lobby, spectate, and banlist function in summoner duels. More stages and harder difficulty in seers snare. etc.
It's just that they feel obligated to keep shilling new modes every 6 months to a year so we get garbage like auto battle simulator or things like rokkr sieges which just end up getting dropped anyways.
I've never seen any Star Rail thread on this board that ever talked about gameplay mechanics or even the story.

The SW and Topaz event was great and actually related to the character, even their failed banner Huohuo also decent.
Game literally make the same revenue as genshin in a short time but none of the money actually goes into it.
Teambuilding is very boring. Even in the hardest content you just put together any good sustain, any good DPS and any 2 good debuffers. As long as the color of your DPS matches the enemies' weakness nothing else matters.
Boring while simultaneously limiting. Can't build your way out of not having the right element for an element check. People that missed Jingliu, Dan, Argenti are just fricked. It's so shit.
I feel like I made a huge mistake playing P5R before Star Rail, because while P5 has its issues and the game is generally easy, it made Star Rail feel awful with its limited options. FFS, even a Defend command would be welcome.

The secret is that their baseline monthly income is ~30M on Android+iOS from Welkin+BP alone. Banner income is just bonus on top of that. Who they run is almost inconsequential.

They pull from a few major factors, that being data analysis techniques only they know about, app store data (when it's ranked, on what week, with estimates on what kind of spending is happening at the time). It's a complicated and often WRONG process, as has been proven by other mobile app ranking and estimates adjusting their revenue algorithms.
When Uma Musume launched, more or less every algorithm was predicting unusual numbers (both too high and both too low) because of historical gacha numbers being too strong within their algorithms.

Getting new characters in Genshin isnt fun because the grind to make them useable is unbearable. In Star Rail, new characters are useable the night I get them with a couple hours of auto battle grinding. I can't go back. My Furina will stay mediocre in Genshin while I continue to max random 4 stars in Star Rail who I may never use, just because I can.

I actually really was into the story and characters up to 1.3 or 1.4. Starting there, they started padding the dialogue to no end and doing the genshit thing where every single dialogue line can't be skipped for the first 2 seconds so you're forced to waste time even if you don't give a shit about a specific event.
The game has become incredibly easy to upkeep, dailies are the easiest thing ever, but the whole game and events are just boring now.
I'm still playing, but after 2.0 I'm out. At least until 3.0.

It's not that it has fallen, it's that other modern gachas have emerged with tons coomershit. FEH has chibis and PNG with four voiced lines and you can count the decent coomershit on one hand, that's all. Add to that the fact that they do not invest in advertising at all.
Eh I think FEH is doing very good for itself. Average 3-5mil per month for a fricking chibi game means they're making money hand over fist. I just wish they'd market it more and focus on improving the gameplay because the core is very good. Most other gacha would LOVE to still be making that much money 8 years in.

I like a lot of the random modes they have, and there are some they don't run anymore I miss. Grand Conquests I think we only got twice last year, Relay Defense was axed years ago, etc. Newer modes like Seer's Snare are insanely good and fun, but Affinity Autobattles was complete dogshit.
What do you suggest they could do to improve the gameplay, barring adding more unique modes?
I think they can go back and update old modes more. More maps and buildings in aether raids. Lobby, spectate, and banlist function in summoner duels. More stages and harder difficulty in seers snare. etc.
It's just that they feel obligated to keep shilling new modes every 6 months to a year so we get garbage like auto battle simulator or things like rokkr sieges which just end up getting dropped anyways.

HSR story climaxes too early and doesn't do aftercare after the storybeat is over. It's just so rushed that it appears cynically produced just to shill the character on the banner.

The SW and Topaz event was great and actually related to the character, even their failed banner Huohuo also decent.

It doesn't list any kind of source for it's own numbers, but it pulls from SensorTower. It's been wrong multiple times before, and when it launched it was so off that it had to re-adjust itself multiple times, every single gacha is an estimate and the numbers aren't real.
They pull from a few major factors, that being data analysis techniques only they know about, app store data (when it's ranked, on what week, with estimates on what kind of spending is happening at the time). It's a complicated and often WRONG process, as has been proven by other mobile app ranking and estimates adjusting their revenue algorithms.
When Uma Musume launched, more or less every algorithm was predicting unusual numbers (both too high and both too low) because of historical gacha numbers being too strong within their algorithms.
