>game is supposedly about mega evolution
>mechanic is exclusively for older Pokemon
>gets more utilized in the remake that is based on a game with older Pokemon
Or, get this, you missed the point and XY being dogshit has nothing to do with megas.
>"The point"
Obnoxious nostalgia pandering?
Every single time.
Only three trainers use Mega Evolution in battle before the postgame in ORAS too.
It's still slightly better, because Korrina only uses it for the tutorial, so it's really only 2.
they vomit mega stones on you in ORAS even though the enemies don't use them, in XY almost all of them are postgame exclusive
If I recall, they didn't do Megas for Gen 6 mons cause they didn't want to make a mon that felt incomplete in it's final evo and needed to Mega to feel like a proper mon.
That's exactly what Diancie ended up feeling
And then they went and did that in Gen 8 and now they're selling you actual evolutions for those mons for Gen 9's DLC.
and yet they still made carbink
>Gym Leader expert in Mega evolutions
Just use one
But her gym is a fighting type, well there are 7 fricking megas with that type and she could even make exceptions like the case of M. Swampert
Damn woman, at least use your family's Blaziken from time to time
>play PvP
>suddenly get infinite battles where I get to battle megas
woah
You already said this before
damn it's like you wanted to make another dogshit thread
seething kalosperm lmao
Is whining about campaign trainer battles the biggest sign of low IQ?
Mega Evolution isn't something they trust any random trainer to use, it's special
lysandre pulls a mega ring out of his ass at the very last second of the game even though he doesn't have one when you fight him literally in the room immediately prior
Lysandre should have used his weird Dr. Octopus gear to Mega Evolve his entire team at once.
I stand by the idea they should have made Mega Evolution way more common. Not to every single Youngster and Lass, but anyone important. All gym leaders after you fight Korrina. All your friends/rivals (or at least the main one) at the same time you get yours. Hell, even have occasional souped up Ace Trainers now and then with one.
Also dont lock so many of the fricking things to the post game, make them all available pre-E4 except the legendary ones.
I think they didn't make mega for Gen 6 pokemon because they didn't know who was going to be popular, but it's no excuse that the main attraction of the game is anecdotal. Not even E4, not even the rematches. XY fails miserably to offer any memorable or minimally emotional moment. It's so disappointing and forgettable.
I constantly see type specialists team redesigns for various regions and they're usually shitty, but when I see them for XY I genuinely sigh knowing how good those games could have been compared to what we were actually served
it felt much more special. it went from a great gimmick that only a few chosen can use to your grandma has a key stone too in 1 game
Then theyre sold like souveneirs in alola
and lgpe completely eradicates the sense of the mega lore by "megaevolution just exists"
Made even worse by the fact theres only the first 151 pokemon there. zygarde doesnt exist in lgpe how the hell could they be having key stones let alone mega stones
Nah, the first truly dogsh*t gen was 8. 6 is below average, and 7 is bad and the beginning of the end.
