Bizarre how hard Ganker seethes at AI. It is the future, without a shadow of a doubt. And no, that doesn't mean just randomly generaten pics slapped into games. But just imagine how much time and money you could save by generating textures for basic shit like rocks, ground, tree bark, concrete walls etc. Or by just using AI to generate animations and then tweaking them yourself - infinitely easier than making it from scratch. Or imagine being able to play a detective game where you actually confront characters with evidence and your suspicions and they respond accordingly. Even just letting you chat to game characters, and them responding realistically and in accordance to their personalities. It's a fantastic tool.

I know AI has possibilities, but I am not going to ever buy a single product created with AI assistance unless the reduced development costs means lower prices for consumers. I will not pay current full prices for products that are manufactured cheaper.
yea personally what I enjoy most about games is that the devs saved time and money.
And asset stores let devs save time and money. The games don't get any better and the lower bar for entry means asset flips flood the market making things done with effort harder to find. It's a neutral tool at best and a shitty tool realistically.
The problem is that the last thing (and the only objectively good thing for players) you mentioned will also be the last thing AI will be used for.
