Why does Ganker hate web devs?
We don't hate web devs. We hate product managers. We're dismissive of web devs. It's grunt work for the talentless. But it needs to get done and better them than me.
>web dev requires no talent
Not true at all. I have been programming for years and I have a hard time designing a good-looking website.
(me)
Programming as a non web-dev, I mean.
not having touchy-feely homosexual genes is nothing to be ashamed of, anon
They're actually better than you at something, that's why you make fun of them and call them gay. It's just a cope.
the industry noticed. that's why they invented
UX designers so that you talentless monkeys can keep chimping it up without impacting users
I was paying your expertise some respect and this is how you repay the favor? Imbecile.
Never mind, I hate butthole web devs.
(me)
Fine I guess I overreacted a bit because I'm tired and it's late over here.
Goodnight Anon.
It's boring.
It's boring and the languages and frameworks are all ass. Flask and Jinja make things bearable if I do need to do front-end stuff, but it still sucks asss.
There's a lot of jobs in front/backend development. Ganker actively hates people with jobs.
>game dev
underpaid sweatshop tier
>embedded
for boomers with 20 years of experience right out of college
>cli development
dunno but sounds like unpaid neet shit
>desktop gui development
good morning saar
>mobile development
not a thing anymore outside of mobile games, people just use react native or flutter.
>web dev
saturated field
coding is dead
embedded is the only worthwhile field, the term embedded was historically associated with tiny microcontrollers but nowadays it's really anything that isn't running windows, is not a server and isn't a smartphone so it's very broad.
you can work on missiles at one place and make point of sale terminal at another, maybe you'll work on some sexbots or maybe you'll build car infotainment, etc.
as long as you ahve EE knowledge you can work on really cool shit.
>anything that isn't running the only shit there is to run. so it doesn't exist
cope harder moron, there are more "embedded" hardware than desktop + smartphone combined, it's the widest field by far and no two embedded jobs are similar.
tsmt
>game seveloper thread
probably need to switch evert < and > around then you have something approaching correct
For a full time career?
>embedded > FOSS/library development (like numpy) > research/ > web/mobile/desktop (same thing these days) >> game
For fun? Game > audio > embedded > rest, god I hate webshit. So convoluted, I'm happy ChatGPT is a thing I get tired trying to google/skim docs for figuring out what line do I type to enter the routing information.l
OP is an expert in unemployed development
does game development pay as much as web development tho?
i dont want to learn cpp and there are like 0 (zero) job listings asking for rust where i live.
only if you go indie and your meme game becomes viral. If not, no, gamedev pays like shit.
>cli development
It means developing cli programs.
What's hard to understand about that?
I'm a web developer, sir.
> game dev
> look dot product
> look basic shaders
> look game object
> look i use a game engine
kek
95% are filtered by real programming and making money
you can cope pretending to make game dev, but you won't release a game that make money because you don't master business AND tech
Even those extremely basic things are by far and away more complex than anything you do in any of the other listed fields except for embedded.
> laugh in distributed systems
> laugh in real-time systems
> laugh in combat systems
> laugh in financial services
> laugh in critical mission systems
> laugh in infrastructure
laughable
pure cope
you don't know shit
Why are female game developers so cute?
>make a native app
>it runs on only the platform(s) that you've built for
>make a web app
>it runs on every platform that has a web browser, which is basically every single platform
Web devs can't stop winning.
