Binding of Isaac isnt a bad game though, its just full of bad design choices that muddy up a great foundation.

Luck is 60% of your game victories while game knowledge makes up 40%. I like Isaac but it every floor you enter a pretty big lottery.
I was able to consistently win games both back in the flash version and vanilla rebirth. With the release of the DLC and constant frickery with the items it is now luck if you can get two damage up items.
if it were true then it would be statistically impossible to have 10+ win streaks, let alone 100+ win streaks. yet plenty of good players manage that

They do and it looks like a trash game due to how low powered you are plinking away slowly at bosses or even elite enemies.
I'm not going to bother with trash. There are harder and better games to play.
I will say this as someone who recently had a dark room route that didn't have a shitload of health nor damage to melt the Lamb.

All the dudes I QA for are cool. They take criticism in stride. Know when to pull their punches on my gameplay style. Very few developers operate that way. Very few people understand the sandcastle concept.

I have never played binding of Isaac and know nothing about the dev, but many game devs intentionally treat their fans like shit because consumers in general are less critical and more willing to defend corporations if they feel like they're "winning" against a perceived enemy.
Dev makes game, fans enjoy it, people complain about [problem]. Instead of addressing [problem] the dev acts snarky on twitter about people who don't like their game since in the current online environment there's no such thing as acting professional or just ignoring people; they feel like they HAVE to yell at people on social media. So this creates a scenario where devs of just about any game will always have a small group of dedicated online cheerleaders that will support them no matter what they do on their forums/reddit/wherever else, so they feel confident in ignoring any sort of meaningful critique and just being a shithead online. Because people worship products like animist totems and want to justify their purchase/fling shit they'll always congregate to suck a devs dick. If twitter didn't exist none of this would be a problem.

That lack of cold, hard, clinical interaction is so mired in the perceptions of a dev. So even if you zing them and scratch their critical itch they still have the opinions of thousands (maybe hundreds) of shitters beating them down with nonsense. I feel like working with developers is like any other relationship. It's a slow burn and you gotta respect the work flow.
