Irrelevant because Game Freak has been contractually obligated to shit a new game out every 1.5 years since 2009. They've never had a chance to get good at 3D game development because they've always been moving on to the next game.

They primarily worked on shitty portable consoles on a 2d overworld games, so I am not surprised they couldn't really deliver.
It's like someone having 20 years of Javascript/php programming experience, then being shocked as to why they can't do systems programming in C++.
This is not me defending game freak, this is just me clarifying that there are some really shitty programmers with a lot of "experience".
High end companies know the importance of keeping up with new technologies and either paying to train their workers on the latest tech, hiring people fluent in it, or both. Yes, I get they're in a time crunch, but taking even two months off from development to study modern engines and libraries would do wonders for them. In conjunction with guidance from experts they could probably make a halfway decent game, and they'd be able to use the experience of making that game in the one after it to make an actually good game.
Nobody who works for gamefreak that has been there 20 years actually develops the game

SV was big step foward imo(aside from lag). Switch has its limits so very understandable, GF knows that and expanded the game a lot compared to SW/SH, only issue was woke agenda and lag imho, lore wise 10/10 character wise 02/10
