I played through OC NWN2 before MotB, it's not worth it in the slightest. They are conencted only on paper, and the OC is so mediocre it hurts.

For one, your system uptime is used in animation calculations, so if you leave your PC on for a few days, it becomes so choppy it's unplayable.

The differences in the ruleset aren't that big but the way it controls is completely different since it is designed for parties instead of a single player character with henchmen (or rather multiple PCs playing together online).

Very interesting read. What a sad world we live in where an expansion to a big RPG title is automatically designed to be a "simple h&s" because it won't sell that great anyway. This also really gets a point across that 98% video games are literally rushed into completion. If you look into any leaked source code from big studios you will see a spaghetti monster that was implemented on a crazy time constraint.

Because for 98% of video games devs spend the first half of the development period barely doing any work and the second half of the development period frantically trying to make up for all that time they spent not working.
