Did we ever find out how old Sigmar is?

Sigmar is seventeen years and 364 days old, you sick frick.

I unironically find women more attractive when they're 17 years and 364 days vs when they're 18. I wonder if the taboo makes them hotter.

This is coming from the same people who named a game Warhammer 40k.

Names are not their strong suite.

He's technically Sigmar now. Or Sigmar reincarnated through him.

      Sigmar uses a fantasy warhammer

Based on the design they use, I would argue thay Ghal-Maraz is closer to a cavalry hammer or a sledge hammer (depending on artwork) than a war hammer.

Two handed hammers fricking suck in WFRP 4e so bad. They have the slow trait, which means they always attack last in a round. It's pretty funny how consistently the sigmarite monk in my game charges into skeletons (after usually spending 1-3 rounds getting over his fear), only for his slow ass weapon to allow the skeletons tons of free hits on him lol. Ghal Maraz is probably the best weapon started in 4e but it's saved by the insane magical abilities it has though.

You don't get to attack first because you charged or anything like that?

          Anonymous

No first strike from charge, but it does grant +1 advantage, which is essentially a pool each side in a combat has that builds up through certain actions or successes and can be spent to gain free actions, get huge bonuses on a specific test, afflict the enemy with a status condition, etc.

            Intriguing.

I want to say my group plays 2ed, but we technically started with 1ed and just kept adding house rules to it, then started retrofitting 2ed stuff to work, that at this point I think I can't legally even call it Warhammer anymore.

Still, the way we play it charging means you hit first. Big oof for your pain brother, but points for keeping to theme.

      >Game is called Warhammer
      >>none of the most powerful characters use a war hammer
This is blatantly incorrect though, Karl Franz is absolutely one of the most powerful characters in the setting and that's in no small part due to the fact that he wields Ghal Maraz, Sigmar's warhammer.

Sigmar is the head of humanity, and the game is made for humans. Humans tend to be the most popular faction or race in almost any setting or game, if not the second most humanlike race. They are also the most prolific race throughout the realms, so there's that.

      >They are also the most prolific race throughout the realms
      Really? More than Skaven?

        Anonymous

There might be more Skaven in total population, but humans are way more widespread. It's why most of the factions are human or derived from humans.

Sigmar is the least interesting and least relevant thing lore wise. Nagash, Archaon, the horned rat, broken and sealed away slaanesh, lord Kroak, all the gods and lords of destruction are better than sigmar.

Age of Lord Kroak just doesn't have the same ring to it

Originally, they were going to call the game 'Age of Archaon'.
But then an army of orks showed up from out of nowhere and beat the crap out of Archaon; when he no-showed the announcement party, they gave the name to Sigmar instead.

I know you don't actually give a frick about AoS lore (totally fair, it's not great) but it's called the "Age of Sigmar" because it's the era in which Sigmar and his fantasy marines are attempting to re-conquer the realms from the forces of Chaos.

False. Sigmar basically destroyed the balance of power Chaos established
