Whenever you refresh the page it interferes with the bits being sent to the file hosts. there's a chance that a bit gets flipped in that process, meaning that chunk has to be RE_UPLOADED to the host. If everyone is refreshing constantly, the upload will basically go backwards.

There's some people saying it doesn't because there's no installer, so no registry entries are created and you can't apply updates or something. I guess someone could create a .bat file to add the relevant registry data and trick the system into believing the game was installed normally, but will someone do that? Is it even possible? I don't know. The safest bet is using the installer.
In any case you can play the RIP while downloading the installer tomorrow when it will be a lot faster, then just delete the folder and play the installed version. You'll still be able to continue your saved game and update the game.

The DLC adds items from divinity original sin, one of which is the option to change appearence and race permaentnly mid game (there's no barbershop so you LITERALLY need the dlc to change appearence), an adventurer pouch that gives you extra items at the beginning of the game and if you play bard you can play songs.
Where do you find it ingame? I'm in character creation now, I'll look and see if it's there or not.
The OST + Character sheets are in the game directory.
