Looks like shit. Stop shilling your game.

The story being shit on purpose doesn't suddenly make it good.

Did the update end up fixing this?

That update isn't out now. There's no release date other than sometime this year.

WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON????

The story is shit but it amazes me how a lot of complaints about it are people completely missing what it's even trying to go for. Tehsnakerer was the only person I've seen that actually got it.

So what is the story all about?

Alex is deliberately obfuscating what actually happens so he doesn't come off as a shit person obsessing over a missing woman he never met. At least from what I understand of people who defend its story. Honestly, there are details in the story people overlook that do seem to point in that direction (Alex's dialogue and onism posts after Sami disappears implying he never met her) but even taking those into account the story still falls flat.

It's people being told what to think about Yiik from YouTube videos without experiencing it for themselves. Zoomer mentality, it's very sad.

I sat down and my peenis LIIKed, when I was 12 my body PIIKed, my childhood toys are now antTIIKs, so I made a game called YIIK.

This girl I liked called me a fRIIK, my pet bird hit a wall and broke its BIIK, I used to play vidyagames all damn WIIK, so I wrote a game about my life and called it YIIK.

I added all the things I thought were sLIIK, music themed weapons and chiptune BIITs, Aliens and real dead people I never met which is incredibly fricked up and disrespectful and Jesus Christ why the frick did I think that was a good idea...
All to make my perfect game of YIIK.

We teased and promoted the game on rePIIT, hyping it up till the day of reLIIS, it was shaping up to be a real tRIIT, then came the day we released YIIK.

The first few reviews were really bLIIK, but we hope things would turn around in a WIIK, then the score kept on being MIIK, it seems like nobody liked my game YIIK.

So what do you when you fall down? When the world seems to turn around? Do you grit your teeth and smile and hide and frown? Well I went on Twitter and became a clown.

Now my game's a joke and the world calls me a fRIIK, I tried to bill myself as woke but the critics say I RIIK, I sit at home and drink until I'm SIIK, because my life's work is a turn-based gimmick-laden dialogue-choked narcissistic exercise in philosophical pretension and I had

    the gall

    to call

    it

    YIIK.

    >make moronic game
    >only morons are interested in playing moronic game
    >get moronic feedback
    >out yourself as the ultimate moron by not understanding the feedback is reflective of the product

If you wanted intelligent discourse around your game the game itself would have to model this. It's a failure of the game. Just look at the not so subtle variation in the way the Ace Attorney and Danganronpa fandoms "discuss" their games. Of course sexualization of characters is the dominant topic of discussion but you can clearly see the outsized focus on sexuality in the DR fandom relative to the AA fandom. The source material for DR is inherently hornier and therefore the fandom reflects that.

If you think that is a tenuous comparison then perhaps the sonic/mario fandom comparison is a more compelling argument. Sonic aimed at a more mature teenage tone in his games while mario remained milquetoast and devoid of "attitude". It's pretty clear what the fallout of that decision resulted in between the fanbases.

Your shit game is inherently moronic and the fandom reflects that. Everything you b***h about is a personal failure to deliver a quality product and you cling to your delusional ignorance/pride which is clouding your ability to objectively analyze your own flaws as a creator.

tl;dr: Of course the fans are morons and that is also your fault and not an excuse.

What does that have to do with Sonic having no good games?

The only reason this shit is even half as relevant as it is, is because it's so goddamn bad it became a meme. Literally if not for that oney homosexual people would have forgotten about this game in a month

Has the dev ever said why the game is called "YIIK"? Y2K doesn't even come up until like 2/3 of the game and none of the previous conspiracies had to do with computers
