Wizards are insufferable bookworms no one really tolerates except for their ability to cast Fireball. Sorcerers are their more charismatic cousins and a party's favorite.
Lorewise sorcerer doesnt study and probably inherited or got there magic. The advantage of each is wizards can learn new spells by copying spell scrolls and potentially learning every spell in the game while sorcerers only learn a few spells but they have metamagic and can tweak there spells to do what they need for the situation
gameplay wise wizards learn spells from scrolls and sorc learn spells from leveling. wizards set their spells beforehand and can only cast the spells they set, while sorcs can cast a certain number of spells of each level from the pool of every spell they've learned. at least that's how I remember it working in baldur's gate 2. i have no idea what bg3's systems are like.

This has been a problem in every game with "playersexual" romance options. For example, I literally can't even talk to any of the dudes in Rune Factory 5 because if you talk to them too often their affection rises and they gay out on you, which is a glaring problem in a game that's half about getting to know and befriend all the townsfolk and inviting them to go on adventures and shit with you. Instead the devs should put gay/straight flags that you pick on character creation and none of the characters can gay on you if you pick the straight option.

I played DOS 2 after playing the early access, because I liked it so much, great game, although I felt act 3 dragged on a bit, personally I prefer BG3 if you liked DOS I can't see why you wouldn't like BG, there's torrents online for the latest build so it won't cost you anything, check Cs.rin.ru
I would but I really want to get immersed into bg3 and want to play it when it's fully released. Really hard to get back into these games when taking a pause.

AP is what made DoS combat great. They should definitely reuse it in this title. Yeah, I Know it's not DoS, but the current system is unbearable.
