Game streaming and retro mobile gaming

I've been thinking about getting a simple (potentially android) handheld streaming/emulation device for when I wanna just game on the couch, balcony or in the bathtub.
It doesn't need to be able to run any modern PC games natively, since I'll nearly exclusively use it in my home, to stream from my PC.
So it shouldn't cost more than ~200€, thus no Steam Deck.

I've been looking at the Retroid Pocket 3+, any other suggestions or yes/no?

I bough an ambernic rg35xx. It have a letterbox screen of 640x480 resolution and looks like a Game Boy. Factory software is not good, but you can mod it and there is plenty of info and videos everywhere.

The only thing that bothered me is battery. Usually it lasts around 4 hours or so, but good enough for some casual gameplay.

      >It have a letterbox screen of 640x480 resolution
That is way too small and low-res for my taste.
And the buttons are way too few too.

        640x480 at 3.5" is 228DPI, a 1080p 24" monitor is 92DPI

You have no idea what you're talking about and are probably a teenager, learn to use the catalog there is a thread already

          >a 1080p 24" monitor is 92DPI
I have a 4K UW monitor with 111 PPI, but anyway, that's not relevant, 3.5" is just way too small.
And I'm not going to play any Steam games in that resolution.

Too small and low res for retro gaming, lol.

I have one. It's amazing tbh. Currently going to playthrough Silent Hill 1 on mine.
Probably need to fine-tune the settings to get rid of the colour grading.

I fixed it by enabling dithering.

Well I guess my options are either play completely full screen and deal with stretching in some platforms or every time I play a game I change video options. Sadly doesnt seem like there is per core video options or if there is I am too stupid.

RP3+ is the only good option. 480p screen is a huge meme

Is the rp3+ screen big enough? I have tried using my phone but I find the screen awfully small. Or should I consider something like the odin?

It is for me, but if you find your phone screen too small then yeah you're probably better off with an Odin or something.

I've been considering the Anbernic RG405m, has 4:3 aspect ratio which gives it a slightly larger play area than the RP3+ for 4:3 games. Solid build and no ugly logo on the front (the Odin logo kills me, wtf)

Do Custom Bootlogos on RG35XX don't work anymore in GarlicOS 1.4.5? Doesn't matter what custom bootlogo I use it just doesn't work and gives me that defualt Denx softwar engineering. Only the defualt seems to work.

    I don't understand the RG35XX.
I'm setting up a new SD.
I flash the image, everything is fine.
I go to apply the Catppuccin theme. Every time I open Retroarch now it just black screens then my screen just flickers and does nothing.
The weird thing is yesterday I did all this setup on my stock SD it came with and it all worked fine but for some reason it just does this.

does it work with the stock theme?

        Ye.
I was using the Catppuccin theme yesterday and it was fine after doing the replace the retroarch.cfg after installing.
But yeah it's the same problem.
Moment I click into Retroarch it just black screens for a bit and then boom screen just flickers doesn't boot into Retroarch.
