It's time to commemorate nintendo's gay little lunchbox of a console, often misunderstood but clearly beloved.
What are your favourite gamecube games? What are your most cherished memories with this console?

I'd like to thank the gamecube and its overzealous fans for getting me more into real hardware as a whole, if the Wii weren't so affordable (I paid $25 for mine) 15 years ago I'd have never started looking into getting more and more of the real thing. While the GC had little worth playing, the Wii had a fun library and it only spurred more and more interest in recreating the original experience of older consoles shifting me away from emulation and onto the real thing.
>While the GC had little worth playing, the Wii had a fun library
Imagine actually liking waggleshit LMAO
>Imagine actually liking waggleshit LMAO
Wii had the definitive version of RE4 though.
I support the GameCube and its fans all the way up until they say it's better than the n64.
>While the GC had little worth playing, the Wii had a fun library
Nice bait.
>What are your most cherished memories with this console?
Buying F-Zero GX at Toys R Us back in 2003. I was expecting a good game after reading about it in magazines and on the internet, but it was even better than I imagined. Same with Viewtiful Joe except I bought that one at Gamestop.
>What are your favourite gamecube games?
Pic related.
Besides high intensity visuals what's the appeal of viewtiful joe from a gameplay standpoint? Never tried it.
Reading your opponents, dodging their attacks and then sending them into each other and across the room. Once you stun an enemy by dodging you can do a "rock-on" attack by going into slowmotion before hitting them, then for that slowmo duration every subsequent enemy also gets rocked on (sent flying across the room and takes more damage). The game has amazing replay value because the system is so fun. There's more mechanics than that but that's the hook to the game.
It's just one of the better action games, sort of a 2d precursor to the gameplay you got in Bayonetta later
why did you list the name of every game when the box art clearly says the names
gamecube is too kiddie
Nah you're just gay
Gamecube has like 5 games, if you name off favorites you've just listed all the games it has lol
Lamecube
it's a PS2 port machine
GC is for gamers with friends. Ganker doesn't get it.
>you will never play four swords adventures with the homies
: (
At least netplay with Dolphin is a thing now
Man, I missed getting together with my bros to play that smash hack. It was a tradition, every saturday for years
Then we all moved abroad and drifted apart
Resident Evil Remake and F-Zero GX.
Guess I'll mention the 4 Extreme G racing game, XGRA, too since I played that one a lot.
I didn't even realize there was a 4th Extreme G game. Underrated series.
i got a silver gamecube when it was $99 and even though i didnt play it a ton i still got a lot of value out of it from metroid prime and re4 alone. i also got the gameboy player which was neat (i had the super gameboy previously as well). this was actually the last nintendo console i bought. im pretty much only pc now.
people bought this shit feeling petty for Nintendo
Just some personal favorites:
Super Mario Sunshine(frick off, I liked it)
Paper Mario: TTYD
Pikmin
Super Monkey Ball
Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour
Mario Party 4/6
Super Smash Bros Melee
Luigi's Mansion
Crazy Taxi
Soul Calibur 2
Growing up, some of my favorite memories are having friends over and staying up into the AM playing Smash or Mario Party. Nothing particularly special, but man those were some good times.
I just plugged in mine to play a round of Worms 3D and the discs don't read.
Got a used Wii from goodwill for like $10
Has no sensor bar, no extensions to the wiimote other than motion plus, and has no gamecube stuff but it's the og model and can play gamecube games
Once I can get a sensor bar I think I'm gonna get gamecube shit and play some GC vidya
Extremely over hated console. Sure it wasn't as good as something like the SNES, or even the N64 in terms of Mario and Zelda titles, but the few exclusives it got were pretty awesome. Metroid Prime, Smash Melee, F-Zero X, Mario Kart Double Dash, it even had the 2 best Resident Evil games on it.
>but those games got ported to other systems a few years later
Okay and? So did most games of the 6th gen. If you had a 'cube during its prime you still had plenty of great games to play. The 4 built in controller ports also made it the quintessential party system of that gen
Mario Golf is my most played GameCube game, I don’t even really like the game of golf that much but the mechanics just feels perfect and never gets old to me. I even bought the link cable to import my GBA character back in the day. Other than that I use the gameboy player to play some of my gameboy games, recently played through Mario land and mega man V on it.
>I don’t even really like the game of golf that much
Same with fishing too.
I'll play golf and fishing games (minigames) and have fun.
I like tennis and (Mario) tennis games, as well.
fire emblem path of radiance, my favorite fire emblem
Naruto gekitou ninja Taisen 4, my favorite fighting game
Mario kart double dash, my most played kart game
I love the gamecube, a really great console. the Wii is obviously better because it was two gamecubes glued together
>nintendo's gay little lunchbox
WTF dude? Show some respect.
