Apes entire existence is just to be early game tutorial tools to explain players type effectiveness mechanics. They are tho still somewhat functional in-game, especially grass one because Seed Bomb hits from the same offensive stats as the few available coverage options so you don't need to run it mixed.
Plusle and Minun... are cute and being electric-type in region full of water is actually relevant and they have handful of support options if you are into this kind of gameplay but besides that they are whatever.

I will never EVER take Doubles seriously as a PVP format until Gamefreak starts building the single player campaigns of their mainline games around doubles!

dancing birds and flamigo have a good niche for setting up and cheesing teams that are unprepared. It's a fun gimmick and viable. obviously theyre no iron hands, but not every pokemon can be top of DOU or VGC.
Passimian does suck though, it has the same kinda gimmick but with nothing to back it up

The entire strat literally dies to Prankster Murkrow. Ir's not that it "sucks", but the counter is far too easy to use. On the other hand not playing Dondozo makes Murkrow pretty much an empty slot.
