the creators of the romhacks would have no legal recourse either, since they were using someone else's IP without permission

>Do you actually think this is how the law works you fricking morons?
There is nothing illegal about it. Game Freak legally owns the song, the cover doesnt belong to the fan.
You can argue whether or not its morally right to use a fan-cover without credit, but Game Freak is well within their legal rights to use the song.
>Game Freak legally owns the song, the cover doesnt belong to the fan.
That's not how it works. By that logic then all the Pokemon porn belongs to Game Freak.
They did use fan art to make Raging Bolt, but even if it’s not illegal, it stinks to high heavens of sour relations with your consumers and fans.

All well within the law. Dont like it? Then pick a different brand to worship that will credit fans. Or better yet, stop making derivatives of things you dont own for free.
>By that logic then all the Pokemon porn belongs to Game Freak.
Yes? Try to make an actual business out of selling pokèmon porn (not privately selling pictures) if you want to see how fast Nintendo's lawyers can rape your butthole. Literally the only thing that keeps companies from suing your ass and stopping you from making/selling fanart is that it's bad for business to frick over your fans especially when it's basically free marketing. That's why unoficcial smash tournies got ignore by Nintendo for so long but ass soon as it became a big thing they basically told them they they either work with Nintendo or they had to stop.
This is a completely different point than what I'm saying.
Yes, they have the legal rights to sue people for copyright infringement. That doesn't mean that they suddenly OWN the fan product.
>Try to make an actual business out of selling pokèmon porn (not privately selling pictures) if you want to see how fast Nintendo's lawyers can rape your butthole
Doesn't stop Lysergide from selling pokemon adoptables for $500 each every couple of weeks for years now
>That's not how it works. By that logic then all the Pokemon porn belongs to Game Freak.
Yes? Reminder >https://www.sankakucomplex.com/2020/12/30/legendary-rei-ayanami-ero-artist-mogudan-quits-drawing-her-after-20-years/ >Legendary Rei Ayanami Ero-Artist Mogudan Quits Drawing Her After 20 Years >Studio Khara’s new guidelines regarding fan-created content state said content cannot be overly grotesque or violent, infringe the rights of others, be pornographic in any way, or have the potential to be mistaken for official work.
They don't own the porn you idiot. Yes, they can stop you from making your own fan product. That doesn't give them legal ownership over the fan product. Khara isn't suddenly legally allowed to sell Mogudan's doujins without his permission. All they can do his stop him from making doujins.
Didn't one company copyright claim one of Zone's animations, so he joked that it was canon? I want to see Game Freak do the same thing so the pokefricking is canon.
i think you're thinking of meatcanyon. he made a looney toons parody where bugs was a rapist, and it was copyright struck by warner bros which means they were claiming ownership, which means its considered canon to the looney toons franchise
Nickelodeon got his What What clip nuked from israelitetube because of the soundbites, and Zone joked that making it canon.
i think you're thinking of meatcanyon. he made a looney toons parody where bugs was a rapist, and it was copyright struck by warner bros which means they were claiming ownership, which means its considered canon to the looney toons franchise
Yes by that logic, pokemon porn does belong to GameFreak. You BTFO your self you fricking moron. Yes they own it. You do not own their creations designs and they can claim any fan shit you make using THEIR designs that THEY made. I don't care what it is. You don't understand Japanese law at all.
Holy shit these replied. They own the IDEA of pokemon AND the things they officially released, they don't automatically own something someone else made because it's using the idea.
And just because some porno from decades ago is a parody doesn't mean that all porn is automatically legally a parody.
The problem is that the exact samples didn't originate with the remix, those weren't in the trailer. Everything they did use was in the original piece so no theft actually occurred.

I wasn't talking about the song, I was talking about anon's example and the replies. Thanks for the qrd, though, I didn't have to read the whole thread.
In that case, I think it can still be claimed that they used the remix, but it's a much shoddier claim. Hypothetically, if it was a public domain song and you took it to court, it might be 50/50 depending on who has better lawyers.
This feels like something that would have a historical precedent.
There is a point where they own the song, but should still credit/reimburse the musician. Imagine asking Johnny Cash to sing a song you wrote for free.
>Imagine asking Johnny Cash to sing a song you wrote for free.
Not the same at all. This fan decided to make a cover of a song FOR FREE, and Gsme Freak decided to use it. Game Freak didn't commission the fan to make the cover, he did it of his own free will. >There is a point where they own the song, but should still credit/reimburse the musician. >should
That's a different argument. I'm not arguing whether or not Game Freak should have credited him, I'm just pointing out that they're within their legal rights to use the song regardless of crediting.
You can legally publish a cover of a song to make money from it as long as you mark it as a cover and pay a fee to publish it to the original creator of the work.
>Do you actually think this is how the law works you fricking morons?
Literally yes. You usually need permission to even make money from covers, since they don't belong to the artist doing the cover.
>Game Freak legally owns the song, the cover doesnt belong to the fan.
That's not how it works. By that logic then all the Pokemon porn belongs to Game Freak.
>By that logic then all the Pokemon porn belongs to Game Freak.
Also yes, in bullshit countries where parody laws don't exist. The only thing keeping a lot of Japanese hentai alive is good faith from the creators.
>Do you actually think this is how the law works you fricking morons?
I agree. They should take that gay to court, get the video taken down, and keep the song.
Do YOU? Did YOU read the entire end user license agreement for the latest sloppamon? It's common now for games to include language that gives the devs ownership over shit made in the game (i.e. if I make a map in halo forge, Microsoft owns it, it's not mine) I'm sure these fricks could easily extend that language to other aspects of the game such as music, and even if they were technically in the wrong, some troony deviantart musician with 50 subscribers is not gonna have the legal clout to hold them responsible. As always, you gamefreak fans will get shit on, and you will be grateful for every minute of it
Just a friendly reminder that eula doesn't override law. Contrary to what nintendorks wants you to believe, Shuntaro can't legally beat you to death with a brick, even if nintendo says so in their eula's.
>claims to be red pilled and based >licks corporate israeli boot and falls for israeli inventions such as "intellectual property" just to be contrarian and pwn the libtards

Didn't nintendo already get accused of doing exactly this years ago? Like in the Wii era all the snes/n64 in the shop were just repackaged roms from pirates.
Holy frick that would be amazing, imagine the month-long Twitter meltdowns from the devs of the romhacks crying over 'their' work making TPC and Nintendo millions.
they did this already. the roms for the virtual console games had the header from the romdump hardware. tl;dr people defended the company that said dumping roms under any circumstances is illegal with "but its their own games" despite the fact they should of like....had the original stuff in the first place.
they probably lost it, and the only reason you can play old roms on the switch officially is because someone fricking stole it, then they fricking downloaded the stolen roms
>the roms for the virtual console games had the header from the romdump hardware
It was only SMB1 you know. No other rom was found to have the same header.
animal crossing, medabots. and technically, all of them, because they literally hired a freelance dev, Tomohiro Kawase, who worked on iNes. they HIRED the illegal rom dumper dev, to fricking dump their own roms.
It was just SMB1.

which was then distributed with the virtual console, a nintendo application, anon. which has to be approved by them, you cant just make your own shit and release it willy nilly, you have to go to nintendo and get them to release it. you couldnt just make your own game for a gameboy, and release it yourself, you had to go to them.
AND THIS STILL IS BESIDES THE FACT THEY STILL DID IT. ATLEAST ONCE. until they release a press release saying "dumping roms is illegal under all circumstances even if you own it....except if you do it just once", they can suck my fricking dick

Yes. No one is denying this.
That said its likely that it was downloaded for testing of the emulator they were making and was never meant to be used which would explain why no other VC game to date shares anything with online versions of the game.
Also >which has to be approved by them
Anon, Nintendo hasn't been that strict with third parties since the 90s before the ratings boards.

Covers require the permission of the original rights holders.
Yes that means all of these big musicians that have done covers had to get permission from the record labels/people that owned them.
the video makes it look like the choir is something the fan contributed to but it's exactly the same as the original, the beginning part seems more similar though it's not very different from the original either
Even in the clip you can hear it's a different instrumentation in the parts that aren't just lifted wholesale from the game but there's like 200 tweets getting outraged because getting pretend angry at corporations instead of just not consooming is what's in right now
oh yeah dude, Pokémon better watch out or else their fans will sour and turn to..... oh wait, i forgot, there's no comparable monster battling game to jump ship to. oh well, guess it's time to fight the new gym leaders and elite 4 for another generation.
>mfw every Pokemon rival game ever made has to have some kind of Monkey Paw to it >and make processes that were already a slog even worse for no reason
I ask the same shit to people who act like Steam has a monopoly, there's a bare bones formula in front of you that works, at the fricking least just do the same shit the original does and then do some things better.
>I ask the same shit to people who act like Steam has a monopoly, there's a bare bones formula in front of you that works, at the fricking least just do the same shit the original does and then do some things better.
Yokai watch almost did it but they blew it by oversaturating the market to make as much money as possible. Though the games weren't exactly any more complex than modern pokèmon.
if Bamco won't bother with Digimon, there's virtually no point. Digimon is the only series with enough legacy clout to overcome Pokémon but it never will because Bandai would rather sell toys and trading cards than produce an genre-redefining AA quality Digimon game.
if it came to light that GameFreak and the Pokémon Co. have been paying Bandai a handsome lump sum every year since the 90's to frick off from the vidya space almost entirely, i'd believe it immediately.
>Digimon could totally become the most popular thing in the world.
Bro I love digimon but lmao.

maybe overcome was a little ambitious considering Pokémon has effectively reached complete market saturation, but i think Digimon could definitely match their popularity off the back of one (1) incredible anime series that leaves people clamoring for a Season 2 and an incredible video game with two versions.
What you gays don't get is that pokemon doesn't sell because of the formula or anything, but because the IP. That's why pokeclones always fail, no one cares about some imitation without Pikachu and company. Pokemon sells on pokemon, not on quality, innovation, game design or whatever.
>no pvp >half the roster size including recolors >less content >more cutscenes >can't trade demons with friends >can't transfer demons across games
I love SMT and even have a little jack frost keychain I have on my backpack that I take with me everywhere but come on, pokemon is on a completely different level conceptually than other monster tamers.
>less content
i was about to say something about how it doesn't matter if it has less content as long as what it does offer is of any actual quality, but this is kind of wrong. the average fricking tokyo hub world map is much more substantially open and explorative than every nu-pokemon region shuttle tour since 6. combined.

>the average fricking tokyo hub world map is much more substantially open and explorative than every nu-pokemon region shuttle tour since 6
True but the problem is that it's empty. At most you're going to find a few fetch and battle quests here and there.
Also, I'm kind of surprised SMT doesn't really have things like raids yet. I don't know what they could give as rewards but it could be interesting.

closest we really have to raids are skelly quest bosses
The artist of a fanart owns the copyright to that particular drawing, even if the drawing contains infringing copywritten characters. The fanart does infringe on the IP owner, but that does not automatically grant the IP owner permission to use the fanart.
>MUH IT’S THEIR PROPERTY!!!1!!1!!!!one
Nobody is asking them to pay the motherfricker, but it’s a Black person move to not even acknowledge the morons giving you money, making fanart, covers and such. GameFreak are a bunch of western-tier israelites.
>make art of your favorite franchise >franchise steals it >not even an acknowledgement from them, just lawful theft your idea
Keep projecting bro, you sound so righteous right now don’t stop
>twitterBlack person drama screeching over a lazy edit
I couldn’t care less if a company or rando dev stole it tbh.
>implying this is exclusive to Game Freak
people will line up their asses to defend any company. Just because you personally don't like Game Freak (I'm not a fan of their recent work either) doesn't make it any different
>Frogtard think I'm defending Game Freak
No, I'm just shitting on the fans. Frick them. They defended Game Freak for removing the national dex, Now I'm gonna laugh at them for getting shit on by their corporate deity.
I hope Game Freak steals more fan content without crediting them.
My apartment building burned up once gen 6 was released. Anyone who stuck around for the trashfire since then deserves to be shit on by Game Freak as much as physically and metaphorically possible. They defended Game Freak for being lazy, and now they're getting their just desserts.
It's not like anyone will actually commit to going against Game Freak. This controversy will die down like all the others and they'll buy the new Pokemon games anyways. At the same time though, who cares about a literal who. Either way, both can get shit on for all I care.
>nooooo be outraged at the company I mindlessly support myself
Tendies don’t have enough self respect to stand up to them why should I act like I actually give a shit when their own audience doesn’t? Lap it up, dog.
Oh get the frick outta heah, people buy snoy trash consoles because literally everything worth playing winds up on it eventually, it’s basically a catch all console. If you buy a PS5 you’re guaranteed to get a decent port of nearly every single game that generation with a few first party exceptions. People buy Nintendo consoles for the same handful of brands and franchises because they’re simply better for first party titles. Tendies literally do go out of their way to buy every Nintendo console to play every Pokémon game, even if the game sucks.
>Tendies don’t have enough self respect to stand up to them >dexit debacle >SV are the lowest reviewed games >bank/home debacle with it becoming the lowest subbed subscription service >everyone leaving Go in droves because of the nerfs to stationary play
????
>SV outsells every single other pokemon game combined with a total 100 million sales
No wonder you homosexuals are so mad about Nintendo all the time, you literally make up reasons to be mad and ignore when boycotts and complaint hit Nintendo and their affiliates because you had nothing to do with it.
WHAT BOYCOTT? They're making more money than ever. They haven't learned anything. They didn't re-release earlier pokemon games with the battle frontier back in. They didn't make a unified pokedex. They didn't give people refunds for pokemon home. Your boycott did NOTHING.

None of those matter if people are still buying SV. Only when Gamefreak and Nintendo go bankrupt, can you say that your boycott worked.
They are also in the twitter thread, these freaks are beyond help, only the biggest bootlicking paypigs would tolerate the terrible level of quality gamefreaks provides.
What's surprising me the most is the literal dumb fricks who thinks companies own the right to copyright infringing work. They literally do not. The creator still owns the infringing work, and if the copyright holder tries to use it, the creator can sue them.
Yes, it is their song, and that gives them the legal right to sue the person who did the cover, but it does not give them legal ownership of the cover. In fact, the person who did the cover can now sue them for using his work without permission. It would be a weird legal battle since both of them did something wrong.
I'm not the dumbass making cover music of nu-pokemon games. I don't even know what an area zero is. You homosexuals are the ones simping over a creatively dead franchise
Are you fricking moronic? Do you not know how those sites work? That's essentially donations to keep making the same shit, he's not commercially selling the cover anywhere.
WHY ARE ZOOMERS SO FRICKING STUPID
>moron underages think companies can sue you for a cover
There’s even companies online that with charge you a couple bucks yearly to make your covers able to monetize on shit like Spotify.
Why must I share a board with absolute imbeciles?
being so contrarian that you loop around to doing cover for big companies.
Then again they might naturally just be simps who want to suck up to nintendo and syphon all of their cultural power for their own ends, while also benefiting from this "contrarian" streak.
>quite honored to hear snippets of my area zero music
what a fricking moronic cuck he could have made millions of pokemon company and nintendo he just lost his law suit
there was no lawsuit to be had you dumbfrick zoomer.
Even if he had a convincing case I guaran-fricking-tee you he does not have the funds to solely take an entire fricking company to court when they own one of the top grossing franchises in the world.
So they copied Raikou and this song too?
Anyway while definitely questionable, they can do that, and if you are mad about this and still buy their games you fricking deserved it.
>What's with all the bootlicker replies itt
Zoomers only listen to YouTubers so they just suck their wiener and lick their boots at any given moment without actually checking the facts.
Is that better or worse than only listening to twittards and being ready to suck their wiener and lick their boots at any given moment without actually checking the facts?
I'm surprised they actually have this clause. Kind of smart on their end, but that really fricks over the fan created content. Not that Pokegays care if they're fricked over at this point, but I'm surprised they're so happy to have their noses rubbed in it.
Fair Use supersedes this, and I’m fairly certain that porn (as long as it’s not purchased/sold, at least provably) falls under Fair Use. Yes, you can’t make money, but no, the porn isn’t “owned” by them - the character is, but the specific piece, unless endorsed or copyright claimed, isn’t. This does mean, however, that any piece of poképorn that has been claimed and cease&desist’d by TPC IS owned, meaning that it, in partial, is considered canon. I think. Copyright law is weird as shit and also different depending on which jurisdiction you fall under.
From a business perspective, probably not - what little protections there are could be skirted pretty easily. However, porn produced but not directly sold wouldn’t fall under TPC’s T&S. Whether you could do the patron-art workaround I don’t know, but the fact that Pokemon smut is still alive and well either means >there’s a legal workaround >you can’t “sell” but can still produce >TPC only goes after larger individuals similar to Ankha/Nintendo video >TPC is too lazy to fight the growing mountain of smut >TPC doesn’t care
The real problem is Japan and the United States. In Japan they've too much dignity and honor that if the company tells you not to do something, the people obey, laws or not. In the United States, the corporations are so fricking rich and powerful that they can circumvent pretty much any law and bully their target into submission.
Japanese creators are also so much more skilled than their equivalent western creators that they weren't going to have a problem building/maintaining a following even if they weren't keeping up with the latest trend on fan art/porn.
tl;ldr SKILL ISSUE
In order for this agreement to be valid, both parties have to agree to it in writing. Sure, they could slip it in a user agreement in a pokemon game and force everyone who plays it to agree to it, but that wouldn't hold water if a fan creator never played any of the games that had this agreement. You can't just state this on your website and it suddenly becomes binding for everyone who ever lived.
You don't have to agree or even know about the terms or conditions to be bound by them.
That's like blowing somebody's face off and saying "Well I didn't KNOW that was illegal" and expecting it to be an acceptable defense.
People get rightfully charged for crimes they didn't know were crimes ALL THE TIME. Even benign things, like fishing the wrong kind of fish by accident. This is literally Reason 0 that you never ever ever ever ever ever ever ever EVER talk to the police.

>steal shit from company
...?
Composing a piece of music is not even close to "stealing".
You really are like the fat guy from the meme wielding swords and screaming "LEAVE THE MULTI BILLIONAIRE COMPANY ALONE!!!", aren't you?
They spent all that time tirelessly creating gorgeous custom 3D models and dozens of intricately unique animations for hundreds of Pokemon, they couldnt have possibly had the time to also make brand new musical compositions too.
I dont know why these entitled fans dont understand this simple fact, I thought they would have learned their lesson after being shamelessly BTFO by their pathetic natdex movement.
No usually fanartists can't afford anything like that. They'll just accept cease and desist letters whenever they come and slither onto the next thing to leech on when possible
Tendies love worshipping everything nintendo and their affiliates do
They'll fight tooth and nail defending playing on a shitty underpowered tablet, that's how deranged they are
>pokemon is still the #1 richest entertainment franchise >graphics look like shit, pokemon look like literal shit, they're stealing shit, card quality is ass
Explain yourselves, pokegays.
It's always looked bad, people liked the monster catching gameplay and had fun watching the cheaply animated show. Also, the spinoff games tend to have more fun and engaging gameplay.
Geniune question: Who actually own the rights to the cover song? If the cover was made without permission, do the original song writers get to claim ownership?
>Who actually own the rights to the cover song?
It's not really a cover just a chopped up version of the original piece. I would say that it belongs to TPC.
You are using other people's ideas. It doesn't matter if it's 1 guy or a corporation. It's not a human right to use things that aren't yours. And they can use said thing you made off of their creations if they want to.
I didn't realize how insufferable artists were until social media became a thing >MUH CREDITS MUH REPOSTS
These people want everyone to bow to their demands like they're fricking deities
It's a cover on something they already own. What moron thinks this is worth b***hing about other than talentless morons who can't make their own music?
I cam't believe it. GF has a little detail with fans and they just lash out! And you people wonder why they don't "listen to you" so much toxicity! Shame on you
Here is a sob story about how I had a hard time as a kid but playing pokemon helped me through it
their justification is that all black belt class trainers are depicted as male, but humans in real life don't follow a convention of "classes" where all members of a class look identical. this is literally an autistic mindset, but that tracks since all trannies are autistic
It's a good thing this fan creator made the remix for them, otherwise a Gamefreak Employee might have had to do work. Praise be the community for helping these overworked souls get some respite.
No they'd get to sue (you) and the school since you're legally responsible for him and the school is using copyrighted material in an official capacity
Ganker has become increasingly contrarian, where they'll take stances just to make 'the other side' angry. Like, blizzard could be found harvesting babies to power their game servers, and you'd have people defending them going "PFFT, THEY WERE PROBABLY troony BABIES. WHO CARES?"
>I hate Game Freak and I hate their bootlicker fanbase, I want to fan the flames to instill as much hostility between both parties as I possibly can
fixed. The fact that you morons cant see what really going on here is evidence that most of you are Americucks who are incapable of seeing beyond the black and white of two opposing sides.
it's not about defending Nintendo it's about how law works. If you want to bring this on an "ethical" level yes it's kinda fricked that they didn't even bother give the guy some exposure. But the reality is that law is on their side and they literally did "nothing wrong" so nobody is going to do shit about it except throw a tantrum on social media and get their credit card ready for the next pokèmon goyslop.
In fact I bet the same people who keep repeating how Gamefreak is a bunch of lazy hacks bought S&V day 1.
i don't know, i think fan derivative works like song covers would fall under the ownership of gamefreak or nintendo since pokemon under japanese law or maybe a ToS agreement.
i remember rwby fans getting pissed at roosterteeth including that in their EULA or whatever recently that they would use any fanworks without crediting the creator, but its fully within an IP holder's rights to do that.
Would never hold up in court, but companies have been doing it regardless. If that stands, then consider the music scene in general and what it would mean.
Ganker often becomes so contrarian that it collapses in on itself and starts simping for multimillion dollar corporations that produce nothing of value
So much of a threads content can be controlled by simply stating the opposite of what you want to hear in the thread
This is genuinely a post-elections thing that developed because of redditors coming here with the mindset that >everyone here on Ganker is a moronic manchild I disagree with morally, such a gross place. It follows that everything they say is wrong and I have to take the exact opposite stance

>draw myself fricking Lana, Lillie and Acerola >it's officially owned by Nintendo >me fricking Lana, Lillie and Acerola is now canon in Pokémon lore
HOLY FRICKING BASED!!!
This is some of the most scummy shit I've ever seen a videogame developing company do.
I love it.
Makes me feel quite validated in my decision of ditching Pokémon back in 2012.
The occasional thread here Ganker is the only source of Pokémon information I consume these days, and things have never stopped going downhill.
It's the gift that keeps on giving.
>This is some of the most scummy shit I've ever seen a videogame developing company do
Literally every single company has that.
It's a default protection.
>GF/TPCi blatantly and lazily stealing fan-content and then passing it off as their own is a good thing actually because...something something trannies
I hate you people with a passion
/pol/mutts love their troony boogeymen. The ones complaining about games getting woke or censored are the same. These mutts dont actually play video games, they just use the community as a stepping stone to own the troons.
True neutral people like me are almost extinct
You want a real answer?
Because Ganker falls directly in the middle of things, neither bootlicking nor arbitrarily shitting on things, essentially facts, logic and reason rule here no matter who they support.
Neo-/v/, aka users who joined post 2013, don't care about that. They will abandon these things and side with their brand and shit on ones they dislike regardless of the facts or any kind of logic.
Right now, if you look at the samples used in the trailer everything comes from the original track made for the game and not the remix. In other words nothing is being stolen from a fan creator but people are going mad because they hate gamefreak and Nintendo and unfortunately they're also louder
That's the reason Ganker is going to absolute shit.
There's not. There's ten times as many seetheposts as there are any defending. And even then that's stupid because if you read the thread you'd see that it's fake outrage. You're actively looking for things to be upset over and now you're upset, how could that be happening to you?
Who even cares about the artist
The real takeaway is just how embarrassing it is for Gamefreak to steal youtube fan covers. One of, if not, the laziest group of game devs around
Intellectual "property" spasming aside, this just goes to show how lazy and incompetent the Pokemon devs are. Can't even pull a song from their own asset library, they just roll over and reach past their own fat to google "poekmnon sgonng" and use the first result
>Son dies, father builds a custom grave for him featuring a stone carving of Pikachu >Nintendo shows up later and steals the grave because it's theirs according to the law
Do Americans really
Not really. His entire arc is learning he'll always be second best when compared to you, Bede has a somewhat better arc, and Marnie has her relationship with her brother, and is cute.
their fans are cucks who buy low quality slop that gets worse every gen, that guy probably would've paid game freak to add his track to the game and is probably downing a can of soilent in celebration
The notion of "intellectual property" is fundamentally flawed and harmful to human progress. Treating ideas, information, and culture as ownable property may benefit individual interests, but ultimately stifles innovation and shared knowledge.
Knowledge itself is non-rivalrous - one person using an idea does not deprive others of benefitting from or modifying that idea. Yet intellectual property laws create artificial scarcity, restricting usage and distribution of information that could be freely shared. This impedes the cumulative innovation that comes from building on existing ideas.
The increasing expansion of intellectual property protections also threatens the public domain. Things like folk tales, recipes, or yoga poses become "owned" despite being part of shared human culture for ages. Corporations can then restrict or charge for cultural elements that ought to belong to all.
Intellectual property law also fails to properly credit all contributions to ideas and innovation. Advancements build on centuries of shared knowledge, yet single individuals or companies are granted monopolies, as if breakthroughs emerge from a vacuum. No creation springs wholly formed from one person's mind.
There are better systems than intellectual property for supporting creators, like patronage, prizes, or basic income programs. Ideas flourish when freely shared, not locked down for profit. Focus should be on what benefits humanity most, not protecting private corporate interests. True innovation comes from the open exchange and modification of ideas for the common good.
IP wasn't needed when the most advanced things people were doing were learning how to grow food or making fancy looking buildings. If IP didn't exist in some form then modern medicine, electronics, etc. would be nowhere near as advanced because any new advancement takes that much more time and money to research, and it wouldn't be worth it if someone could just instantly steal your idea and take all the money you would have made.
IP wasn't "needed" because everyone who came up with anything hoarded their secrets and MAYBE passed them along to their apprentice if they proved trustworthy.
>The notion of "intellectual property" is fundamentally flawed and harmful to human progress. >but ultimately stifles innovation and shared knowledge.
Without restrictions creativity would have no purpose since you could copy anything successful and undercut the competition in addition people who are worse off wouldn't have the time, money effort, etc, to compete and would have no reason to be original anyway because their ideas have no protection.
That said, while copyright ultimately fosters competition while providing protection patents do not.
>In theory, yes
In practice too. Many great series were created due to the fact that they couldn't use the original work
Sonic to Mario
Saints Row to GTA
Hyperion to Superman
You get the picture. >you just get companies hording IPs and abusing the legal system
No, whether you like it or not they either created or purchased the rights to an IP legally and can do with it as they please. You could do the same if you had the capacity to create anything. >with laws they probably drafted up themselves.
You're acting as if laws only protect companies but in reality if you created anything you would also be able to make use of these laws in the same way they do and it has since been updated to include any original work without registration.
It will never not be hilarious that people whose much their entire livelihood is on the backs of an IP goes fricking Nintendo mode when someone else uses "their" shit.
>know the difference between Game Freak and Nintendo >but not the difference between TPCI and Game Freak >in a thread about something TPCI's marketing team did
>fan cover
I assume the fan has little to no legal footing. Would've been nice if someone was paid, but I fear pursuing such a legal action and losing would just encourage more companies to do stuff like this to save money.
IP law is literally just about hoarding money and codifying one of the most profitable business practices ever conceived, artificial scarcity. Never let anybody tell you differently
>IP law is literally just about hoarding money
It's literally about giving the creator protective rights and the ability to do with their ideas as they wish.
It also exists to promote creativity so no one can simply copy a creative work.
I think intellectual property was intended to protect and promote scientific innovations, not punish someone for drawing Barney the Dinosaur but orange. Like how does society as a whole benefit from us doing that?
While hiding behind the shield of justice that was not put in place there for them. Scum of the earth. Thank go piracy is alive and well - I think the lack of retribution shows that even the rich bastars know they wouldn't win if things came to a head.
>I think intellectual property was intended to protect and promote scientific innovations
That's patents.
They pertain exclusively to inventions and have and always will have a limit of around 15 years or so. >not punish someone for drawing Barney the Dinosaur but orange. Like how does society as a whole benefit from us doing that?
Ultimately, copyright promotes creativity and protects creators from having their original works used without their consent or involvement allowing them to compete in creative fields.
To play off of your barney example imagine a world in which shows like say Lazy Town were just Barney's Fitness Land featuring Lazy the Dinosaur and anti-barney.
Bob the Builder is now Barney the Builder.
Roly Poly Olie is now Big Bouncy Barney
Bear in the Big Blue House is Barney in the Big Blue House.
And very little actually separates the shows its just the same thing with a theme that caters to a new niche without any of the originality that made them stand out because Barney is already an established franchise with fans.
That's the kind of world that would and did exist for a time in human history.
In fact it's one of the many things Disney abuses to this day with their most famous movies being public domain stories.
Nah, patents are just the commercial use of an invention. It's by far the least important and shittiest system because it's regionally based. It's not protecting shit, in fact it's protecting the theft of innovation.
>It's not protecting shit, in fact it's protecting the theft of innovation.
It actively stifles innovation anon. Bamco held the patent for loading screen minigames in general to the point where its no longer necessary due to loading screens being so short nowadays.
Copyright law and intellectual property laws are not necessary for incentivizing creative work and innovation. >For most of human history, copyright did not exist, yet people were still motivated to create art, music, stories, inventions and more without modern IP protections. >Creativity and problem solving are innate human traits that occur even without financial incentives. >There are many other ways to financially support creators besides restrictive copyright laws - patronage, crowdfunding, grants, tips, performance fees, etc. >Many creators are motivated by reputation, passion for their craft, or the simple act of creating, more than potential royalties. >Most creatives build upon the ideas, concepts, and works of those before them, and overly restrictive IP laws can hamper this cumulative innovation. >Independent creators and smaller publishers are often more impacted by burdensome copyright restrictions compared to major studios and publishers >There are many thriving creative communities like open source software, wikis, Creative Commons, etc where participation and contribution occur without restrictive ownership of ideas and source material
You can stop posting your bullshit now.
>>For most of human history, copyright did not exist, yet people were still motivated to create art, music, stories, inventions and more without modern IP protections.
Most cultures had a rudimentary system of keeping ideas protected not to mention monetary needs were also a factor with the rich being able to afford to create. That said we live in an age where creation and communication easier. For example I'm in a first world country and you're in China, but we both probably have access to a phone that we can use as a makeshift tablet to create art and post it online for profit, theft of ideas is considerably easier nowadays and monetary investment is no longer an issue
and problem solving are innate human traits that occur even without financial incentives.
While this is true they often clash with creativity losing out.
are many other ways to financially support creators besides restrictive copyright laws - patronage, crowdfunding, grants, tips, performance fees, etc.
It's not about support but rather protection. Also none of that would work in a world without said protection as those who already make money could use the works of those artists and completely overshadow them. >>Many creators are motivated by reputation, passion for their craft, or the simple act of creating, more than potential royalties.
While they enjoy their craft the first priority of every single being on this planet is survival which in this world requires making money from your work.
>>Most creatives build upon the ideas, concepts, and works of those before them, and overly restrictive IP laws can hamper this cumulative innovation.
Patents pertain to exact inventions.
Copyright pertains to designs.
Mario being copywritten by Nintendo doesn't mean that no one else can make a platformer because it's not under a patent it simply means they can't use Mario as a character and any ideas in Mario.
In other words you can take the basic ideas in Mario and alter it into something new creating the Crashes, Sonics, Spyros etc.
Games like Blossom Tales and 3D Dot Game Heroes are just Zelda with a different skin and can exist without issue.
creators and smaller publishers are often more impacted by burdensome copyright restrictions compared to major studios and publishers
This is false. Independent creators have never been impacted by copyright law unless they use characters that belong to someone else which almost never happens. If copyright law was as restrictive as you claim the previously mentioned games wouldn't exist.
are many thriving creative communities like open source software, wikis, Creative Commons, etc where participation and contribution occur without restrictive ownership of ideas and source material
Because copyright law doesn't prevent documentation of an idea.
I think copyright came before patents but I might be wrong. We're talking about copyright, which was made so other people can't just print other people's books and sell them (piracy).
The earliest patent was 1474 but there's some evidence that the ancient Greeks had a similar system that also means that this anon can eat shit.

Good. Pokeslop fans deserve it all. This is the most childish, shallow, nostalgia driven franchise in the entire industry. It never innovates, it never reinvents, its been a shitty, watered down smt clone since the 90s and yet mind broken, furry man babies still consume this shit. I hope gamefreak starts executing their fans in the street. Those Black folk will still go out and buy Pokemon Dick and Ass or whatever the new one is.
I'm morbidly curious about how much they can escalate before the fanboys stop rabidly defending them, would they still be okay with gamefreak if they C&D that pokemon MMO and then published it as their own?
There are cacti in Nintendo land that are modeled after cact in a NSMB rom hack they DMCA'd too. lol. Also at least a third of Koji Kondo's music is plagiarized.
It used to be a weird degenerate subculture, but more recently with smash and pass, vaporeon memes etc. it seems almost mainstream. Fricking Pokémon. Which are basically animals, or slaves, or household objects. That's some kinky shit.
>take someone else's property without permission >use it for your own benefit >the owner takes back his property that you've transformed without their permission >NOOOOOOOOOOO YOU CAN'T DO THAT BECAUSE . . . BECAUSE . . . UHHH . . . I-IT'S MIN- . . . UHHH . . . I MADE THA- . . . UHHH . . . YOU JUST CAN'T OK????
every straight dude in the world had some older chick who made him feel funny when he was younger. A teacher, friend's sister, friend's mom, etc. It's a scenario playing out that fantasy. Apparently some chicks are into it too but I'm not a woman so I don't know their reasons
I always was and still am really ugly and dream of having had more positive formative experiences+being desirable, and shotas don't have money/power which means they're not being "used" outside their appeal to the girl.
really? but the pokemon IP is owned by nintendo, so why don't nintendo studios make the games as well? these freaks obviously aren't qualified for making 3D games.
Nintendo, Creatures Inc. and Game Freak all own Pokemon. If Pokemon wasn't so lucrative it probably would've fallen down some copyright hole 20 years ago and been inaccessible outside of emulation.
really? but the pokemon IP is owned by nintendo, so why don't nintendo studios make the games as well? these freaks obviously aren't qualified for making 3D games.
they just got lucky on the initial collaboration and have rode the waver ever since. Go play their most recent non-pokemon masterpiece, little town hero, if you want to see how good they are

I think pokemon 3D games should be given to more capable studio, especially when switch 2 comes with much powerful hardware. GF pokemon games will look even worse compared to new zelda and mario.

Nintendo should lend GF some devs. Poach a few from whatever team did BotW and get a game that looks decent at least.
>"To summarize, Pokemon is owned by three companies: Nintendo, Gamefreak, and Creatures Inc. Of the three of them Nintendo likely owns the largest chunk of the Pokemon IP including the copyright for the series and all the characters that inhabit it." GF has made other games, and other people have made pokemon games (just to mainline). You can't kick a creator off their own multimillion selling I.P unwillingly, spreg.
Why do rightoids hate the very concept of art so much? What is it about the rightoid's brain that stops them from appreciating or experiencing creative thought?
Its their property. They should just steal romhacks and resell them too
This but unironically. Just take all of the pokemon projects they shut down over the years and release a mario all stars style compilation of them
would unironically be a gigachad move
the creators of the romhacks would have no legal recourse either, since they were using someone else's IP without permission
Id buy a lot of those romhacks from Gamefreak thats the worst part
>the creators of the romhacks would have no legal recourse either, since they were using someone else's IP without permission
That's not how it works.
holy based
>Update
Do you actually think this is how the law works you fricking morons?
>Do you actually think this is how the law works you fricking morons?
There is nothing illegal about it. Game Freak legally owns the song, the cover doesnt belong to the fan.
You can argue whether or not its morally right to use a fan-cover without credit, but Game Freak is well within their legal rights to use the song.
>Game Freak legally owns the song, the cover doesnt belong to the fan.
That's not how it works. By that logic then all the Pokemon porn belongs to Game Freak.
It does
That's considered a parody so it's different, a song cover isn't a parody
The porn counts as parody you mong.
>That's not how it works.
It is. Same notes. Same melody. Same song.
Yes
> it stinks to high heavens of sour relations with your consumers and fans.
Brother you are a Redditor onions who probably wanks to gabe newel all day. Who gives a shit.
Seriously , you dramaprostitute twitter homosexual user with they/them pronouns
>make art of your favorite franchise
>franchise steals it
>not even an acknowledgement from them, just lawful theft your idea
Keep projecting bro, you sound so righteous right now don’t stop
>>make art of your favorite franchise
steals it
>>not even an acknowledgement from them, just lawful theft your idea
All well within the law. Dont like it? Then pick a different brand to worship that will credit fans. Or better yet, stop making derivatives of things you dont own for free.
It belongs to me.
POKÉMON PORN IS MINE! IT'S NOT YOURS, IT'S MINE! YOU ARE NOTHING! IT BELONGS ONLY TO ME!
Doesn't stop Lysergide from selling pokemon adoptables for $500 each every couple of weeks for years now
you can literally do that in japan
>That's not how it works. By that logic then all the Pokemon porn belongs to Game Freak.
Yes? Reminder
>https://www.sankakucomplex.com/2020/12/30/legendary-rei-ayanami-ero-artist-mogudan-quits-drawing-her-after-20-years/
>Legendary Rei Ayanami Ero-Artist Mogudan Quits Drawing Her After 20 Years
>Studio Khara’s new guidelines regarding fan-created content state said content cannot be overly grotesque or violent, infringe the rights of others, be pornographic in any way, or have the potential to be mistaken for official work.
They don't own the porn you idiot. Yes, they can stop you from making your own fan product. That doesn't give them legal ownership over the fan product. Khara isn't suddenly legally allowed to sell Mogudan's doujins without his permission. All they can do his stop him from making doujins.
They literally do if they wanted to go to court
Didn't one company copyright claim one of Zone's animations, so he joked that it was canon? I want to see Game Freak do the same thing so the pokefricking is canon.
i think you're thinking of meatcanyon. he made a looney toons parody where bugs was a rapist, and it was copyright struck by warner bros which means they were claiming ownership, which means its considered canon to the looney toons franchise
Nickelodeon got his What What clip nuked from israelitetube because of the soundbites, and Zone joked that making it canon.
Shoo, zoomzoom.
Technically they already threatened to copyright claim Oversexed Eeveelutions, so Sam's massive balls are canon.
You are technically correct, the best kind of correct.
It unironically does, same reason Disney sues randoms using Mickey
To adress
before a smartass replies, it doesn't say they automatically own everything, it claims that they can take anything if they want to.
No, that's completely wrong. A work that infringes on someone else's copyright doesn't belong to the infringed party just because of the infringement.
You can legally publish a cover of a song to make money from it as long as you mark it as a cover and pay a fee to publish it to the original creator of the work.
The only moron is you here you fricking mongoloid.
that's literally how it works yeah.
They actually claim ownership of derivative works.
>Do you actually think this is how the law works you fricking morons?
Literally yes. You usually need permission to even make money from covers, since they don't belong to the artist doing the cover.
This will blow your mind but Pokemon porn is owned by Gamefreak.
If I made a cover of a Michael Jackson song they can still claim the right to it because it's his song.
>Snarky comment without trying to educate the youngsters on this board
You're a pest
excellent bait
I know covers aren't protected by fair use
It is how it works. The licensing and copywrite for the song covers derivative works.
10000% this, frick i would love to see it
This.
It would be hilarious watching the meltdown of pokegays and PL
Keep licking those boots, Joe.
Keep eating the shoe Gamefreak cuck
This. If Nintendo and Pokemon fans didn't learn their fricking lesson and keep making shit for free then that's on them.
Fanboys are cancer holy shit
to be fair he's right. if pokemon and fire emblem devs just stole romhacks they'd be sending out better projects than what they produce
Holy moly, esl-gays
fpbp holy shit the seethe would be beautiful

I came here to laugh at pokegays for licking Game freaks boots.
You should still have a nice day for liking pokemon
The only subhuman filth here is (YOU)
Go back to playing your crappy recycled unfinished shovelware garbage known as pokemon you freak.
have a nice day
Didn't nintendo already get accused of doing exactly this years ago?
It was just SMB1.
https://www.eurogamer.net/did-nintendo-download-a-mario-rom-and-sell-it-back-to-us
https://twitter.com/endrift/status/1392394777249816583?lang=en
medabots, by the dev of the very software. so, no, again, its not just smb1, and again, they hired the iNes dev. and finally: doing it once, is STILL doing it.
You're not too smart are you.
We're talking about Nintendo specifically anon. Medabots is Imagineer.
That's like saying Sony using an open source emulator for the ps classic is relevant.
which was then distributed with the virtual console, a nintendo application, anon. which has to be approved by them, you cant just make your own shit and release it willy nilly, you have to go to nintendo and get them to release it. you couldnt just make your own game for a gameboy, and release it yourself, you had to go to them.
AND THIS STILL IS BESIDES THE FACT THEY STILL DID IT. ATLEAST ONCE. until they release a press release saying "dumping roms is illegal under all circumstances even if you own it....except if you do it just once", they can suck my fricking dick
>which was then distributed with the virtual console, a nintendo application, anon.
Yes. No one is denying this.
That said its likely that it was downloaded for testing of the emulator they were making and was never meant to be used which would explain why no other VC game to date shares anything with online versions of the game.
Also
>which has to be approved by them
Anon, Nintendo hasn't been that strict with third parties since the 90s before the ratings boards.
okay cool, i guess that clears it up. you changed my opinion from: they did it. to...uh, they still did it. but it was just once, no biggie. from the company who said doing it ever was wrong.
and im sure they refunded all those people once they realized their terrible mistake, right?
The stance that I usually take with these things is
>do it once, okay there's some plausible deniability there I'll look up what happened.
>do it again, go frick yourself there's no excuse
HA. Not even Nintendo is that generous.
annnnnd the whole, actually hiring the dev from ines. minor detail
>medarot
>nintendo
>CREDIT THE FRICKING ARTIST, CHUD!
No.
>THINK OF THE HECKIN FANS GAMEFREAKIRINO
Deserve getting b***hslapped ngl
lol Black you're literally using their IP. How the frick are you going to b***h at them for "stealing" what's theirs in the first place.
>fan cover
>of a song that Game Freak owns
no credit needed. It's their fricking song.
>fan-cover
So a modified work of the original version by Nintendo
But of course NiNteNd0 Le BaD!!!1!!
So, is there any proof of this, or is it just some troon screeching on twatter and Ganker as always believes what troons say unconditionally?
>Gamefreak is Nintendo
>gay makes music using the company's assets
>gets mad when the company takes it back
>gay makes music using the company's assets
What company's assets Black person? Their fricking piano??
Their composition, moron.
covers are the property of the musician
no
Covers require the permission of the original rights holders.
Yes that means all of these big musicians that have done covers had to get permission from the record labels/people that owned them.
Is it really the same or just similar?
OP is a homosexual and didn't post the link.
https://twitter.com/Lewchube/status/1688941994909835264
Yeah, it's pretty much the same song.
the video makes it look like the choir is something the fan contributed to but it's exactly the same as the original, the beginning part seems more similar though it's not very different from the original either
wow, such a masterpiece fan made version.
Zoomers are mentally ill
It's just Area Zero theme and his "comparison" stops just before where they clearly differ

So basically none of what they use actually belonged to the guy who remixed it.
Even in the clip you can hear it's a different instrumentation in the parts that aren't just lifted wholesale from the game but there's like 200 tweets getting outraged because getting pretend angry at corporations instead of just not consooming is what's in right now
Are you seriously gonna be a "Just consoom" brainslug?
/thread
People are just looking for outrage fuel.
>now
The stole this fan map from serebii.net for ORAS
Joe works for game freak (for free but still, he probably came in his pants when he saw it in game)
Either that or Masuda threatened to accquaint his boyhole with a Hercules beetle if he spoke out.
How bad did this guy get btfo in the replies?
It’s Twitter they probably sucked his dick because it’s full of gay sex-addicted homosexuals
Its not possible to steal fanart
They did use fan art to make Raging Bolt, but even if it’s not illegal, it stinks to high heavens of sour relations with your consumers and fans.
oh yeah dude, Pokémon better watch out or else their fans will sour and turn to..... oh wait, i forgot, there's no comparable monster battling game to jump ship to. oh well, guess it's time to fight the new gym leaders and elite 4 for another generation.
>mfw every Pokemon rival game ever made has to have some kind of Monkey Paw to it
>and make processes that were already a slog even worse for no reason
I ask the same shit to people who act like Steam has a monopoly, there's a bare bones formula in front of you that works, at the fricking least just do the same shit the original does and then do some things better.
>I ask the same shit to people who act like Steam has a monopoly, there's a bare bones formula in front of you that works, at the fricking least just do the same shit the original does and then do some things better.
Yokai watch almost did it but they blew it by oversaturating the market to make as much money as possible. Though the games weren't exactly any more complex than modern pokèmon.
>then do some things better.
impossible nobody would buy it anyway cuz its not pokemon, its literally the brand and the designs not the game bro
if Bamco won't bother with Digimon, there's virtually no point.
Bro your digimon survive? Your cyberbawd? Your worlds?
Imagine Digimon Survive but with actual budget.
i love Cyber bawds, but i said a game with a AA budget, not a game with the budget of a CD-ROM you'd find at the bottom of a cereal box.
I'm still mad that the people that made Immortal Redneck went and made this shit. What a waste of potential.
What you gays don't get is that pokemon doesn't sell because of the formula or anything, but because the IP. That's why pokeclones always fail, no one cares about some imitation without Pikachu and company. Pokemon sells on pokemon, not on quality, innovation, game design or whatever.
>oh wait, i forgot, there's no comparable monster battling game to jump ship to
?
SMT and Pokemon are too different for SMT to truly be a replacement. SMT doesn't even have pvp.
it was good enough for me to jump ship after usum
My Frolic looked like this.
That's the original one. The other one is a mod that shows the actual model, completely killing the mood of the skill.
>no pvp
>half the roster size including recolors
>less content
>more cutscenes
>can't trade demons with friends
>can't transfer demons across games
I'd say the abscesses in 5
The artist of a fanart owns the copyright to that particular drawing, even if the drawing contains infringing copywritten characters. The fanart does infringe on the IP owner, but that does not automatically grant the IP owner permission to use the fanart.
Sorry but the only area zero worth respecting was in the Megaman Zero series.
it even had more kino music
>MUH IT’S THEIR PROPERTY!!!1!!1!!!!one
Nobody is asking them to pay the motherfricker, but it’s a Black person move to not even acknowledge the morons giving you money, making fanart, covers and such. GameFreak are a bunch of western-tier israelites.
Why is Ganker so moronic all the goddamn time?
Pokefans deserve it for eating up Game Freak’s garbage for so long.
Is anyone here supposed to care
>twitterBlack person drama screeching over a lazy edit
I couldn’t care less if a company or rando dev stole it tbh.
You clearly care as you lap up GF’s cum loving every milliliter of it since they can do no wrong
Because these moronic "fans" still buy this dogshit and deserve nothing less than the entirety of gamefreak pissing in their mouth.
>MUH EXPOSURE!!!
Maybe he shouldn't have worked FOR FREE on something that he didnt own the rights to 😉
>morons licking Gayfreak's soles ITT
you know, not even surprised.
>morons licking Gayfreak's soles ITT
That happens everywhere, every second of the day, there is at least one Black person doing that in the world.
Poketards are manchildren who buy baby-easy glitchfests that look and run worse than N64 games. Definitely not a surprise.
You homies seethe incessantly over a franchise for children and cry about how it doesn't cater to you anymore. You're beyond pathetic
>rush in defense of the great kaisha teikoku gamefreak
>calling anyone else pathetic
the lack of self-awareness is astounding
Move on. You're an adult. Sometimes things just aren't meant for you anymore.
>Awaits with bated breath for every word from twatter troon's mouth like gospel of god
>Immediately rushes to fight for xer's honor
>implying this is exclusive to Game Freak
people will line up their asses to defend any company. Just because you personally don't like Game Freak (I'm not a fan of their recent work either) doesn't make it any different
the fanbase is beyond saving
no wonder they keep getting shit served on their plates
>Frogtard think I'm defending Game Freak
No, I'm just shitting on the fans. Frick them. They defended Game Freak for removing the national dex, Now I'm gonna laugh at them for getting shit on by their corporate deity.
I hope Game Freak steals more fan content without crediting them.
>I sure am glad that my apartment building burned up because my annoying neighbours died in the fire
>bro leave the multi million company alone
also learn what fair use is
My apartment building burned up once gen 6 was released. Anyone who stuck around for the trashfire since then deserves to be shit on by Game Freak as much as physically and metaphorically possible. They defended Game Freak for being lazy, and now they're getting their just desserts.
Yup, I knew it. You're the same homosexual who was screeching Platinum is evil because some b***h said a bunch of lies on twatter.
No you deserve to be shit on regularly for buying this slop. I stopped after Sun/Moon and got to see how unbelievably shit that game was.
>GAMEFREAK IS EVIL BECAUSE... BECAUSE LITERAL WHO SAID SO!
After the whole shitshow with Bayonetta last year I shouldn't be surprised.
Why would I want to side with the moronic fans who still buy Pokeslop? They deserve to suffer
See
Just because snoys are the bigger bootlickers by a hair it doesn't mean pokegays are suddenly justified in their corporate wienersucking.
What does them being pathetic have to do with your spinelessness. I am not impressed.
>Tendies don’t have enough self respect to stand up to them
>dexit debacle
>SV are the lowest reviewed games
>bank/home debacle with it becoming the lowest subbed subscription service
>everyone leaving Go in droves because of the nerfs to stationary play
????
>SV outsells every single other pokemon game combined with a total 100 million sales
oh yeah, great boycott you got there. Nintendo is shaking.
>WHAT BOYCOTT
Case in point. Go losing players, a mass exodus of older players for mainline entries and bank and go being failed sub services dint exist to you.
None of those matter if people are still buying SV. Only when Gamefreak and Nintendo go bankrupt, can you say that your boycott worked.
>boycotts
You mean the limp-wristed online campaigns held by a tiny fraction of the fanbase, who all went on to buy the game anyway?
What do you expect from such cuckolds? They’ll gladly slop up and defend it.
i don't care, i'm not playing another pokemon game ever again so it's just a funny little moment to enjoy
>frogposter
>filename
>hasn't read the fricking thread
Haven't touched a pokemon game since 2010
have a nice day homosexual
Keep eating the boot Pokecuck
>missed out on BW2
>missed out on mega kino
yikes
>playing pokemon past 2010
HeartGold and SOULSilver are the last good games
Nah man, BW and the mega era was still good. I'd urge you to play them. Everything past that is trash tho.
I'll consider emulating them in the future.
The creator still owns the infringing work, and if the copyright holder tries to use it, the creator can sue them.
if you create modern pokemon fan content you're licking gamefreak soles which means I hate you more than I hate gamefreak
All of Ganker Land is with you on this one, my based boomer bro.
you wouldnt expect people who buy the same game 2 times per year for 20 years to have standards
>gamefreak being objectively lazy, and just using another person's work
>people celebrate this
??
>youtuber being objectively lazy, and just using another person's work
>people celebrate this
??
company should be held to a higher standard than some rando.
It should but then you realize that this is the same company that has sold (so far) 22M copies of a game like S/V.
i am john pokemon and all of it is mine
Gamefreak freaking owns the song whomstever
its okay tho pokehomosexuals will buy the games anyway
Yes, it is their song, and that gives them the legal right to sue the person who did the cover, but it does not give them legal ownership of the cover. In fact, the person who did the cover can now sue them for using his work without permission. It would be a weird legal battle since both of them did something wrong.
You can’t sue for a cover, moron. Stop sucking so much corporate wiener.
It's not like anything will happen, because anyone who still plays Pokemon is moronic.
>itt unironic pokehomosexuals simping for their israelite company
you deserve shit games
>israelite israelite israelite
Rent free
The DLC looks amazing stop hating
I'm not the dumbass making cover music of nu-pokemon games. I don't even know what an area zero is. You homosexuals are the ones simping over a creatively dead franchise
Nintendo has mastered the art of letting fans illegally use their IPs then stealing the thunder
>use an external IP to profit
>get mad
it's like people that use fanart to profit and get mad when they get no credits.
Nobody said the Black person was profiting you moron zoomer.
>Nobody said the Black person wa-ACK!
Are you fricking moronic? Do you not know how those sites work? That's essentially donations to keep making the same shit, he's not commercially selling the cover anywhere.
WHY ARE ZOOMERS SO FRICKING STUPID
>That's essentially donations to keep making the same shit,
to profit from IPs he doesn't ow
I accept your concession.
Black person I'm going to fricking punch you in the throat unless you start using the rest of your already deficient brain cells.
>to profit from IPs he doesn't ow
>ow
minor spelling mistake. you lose, nerd.
>Mexican doesn't understand law, copyright or life
Many such cases.
yet you behave exactly like a zoomer would, zoomie
>That's essentially donations
stupid fricking twitch zoomer, is this man a registered charity? No?
then they are not donations.
you can donate to things that aren't charities. Being a charity just gives you tax benefits
Black person, any money made is profiting.
WHY ARE ZOOMER SO FRICKING STUPID
>moron underages think companies can sue you for a cover
There’s even companies online that with charge you a couple bucks yearly to make your covers able to monetize on shit like Spotify.
Why must I share a board with absolute imbeciles?
being so contrarian that you loop around to doing cover for big companies.
Then again they might naturally just be simps who want to suck up to nintendo and syphon all of their cultural power for their own ends, while also benefiting from this "contrarian" streak.
No one simps for Nintendo anon.
That's why most vidya complaints are about something they've done.
>quite honored to hear snippets of my area zero music
what a fricking moronic cuck he could have made millions of pokemon company and nintendo he just lost his law suit
there was no lawsuit to be had you dumbfrick zoomer.
Even if he had a convincing case I guaran-fricking-tee you he does not have the funds to solely take an entire fricking company to court when they own one of the top grossing franchises in the world.
>Ganker pretends to know law again
Love it. Not nearly as fun when you tards speculate stocks.
I support Gamefreak fricking over the fan if it makes Ganker seethe.
>YES MR GOLDBERG SHEKELBERG YOUR BOOTS TASTE SO GOOD
And he's got his wiener balls deep in my throat as I watch you twist and turn. It's delicious.
I wish somebody was giving me a deep throat bj right now.
You Mr. Pokemon? Cause that's the kind of dick I'm looking for.
Oooo, I can just feel that seethe. It feels like bussy.
>Unironically siding with the israelites to le own le Ganker
I want all of you motherfrickers dead.
Those hand-rubbing pieces of shit have thought of everything. I hate corporations so much.
not an argument
take the L
>NOOOOOO IT'S THE israeliteS FAULT I CAN'T USE OTHER PEOPLE CREATIONS WHEN I WANT TO AND WHENEVER I WANT TO!
lol
He can and he did, clearly. It's just the israeli terms of service that say he won't be credited
>Wtf!? Im not getting paid for a cover of a song i dont own and was never commissioned to make!?
This is as bad as the guy who tried to make money off of that multiplayer mario game by tieing it to his pateron.
It's just some dumb lazy intern putting these dumb videos together.
So they copied Raikou and this song too?
Anyway while definitely questionable, they can do that, and if you are mad about this and still buy their games you fricking deserved it.
Just relax and enjoy the shitshow. There's no saving this series or its fanbase anymore
My bridge is better than yours
Damn right, it's better than yours
I can teach you, but I have to charge
zoomers be like
>Charizard is a shit design boomers get some taste fr smdh
>Yo! This headass San Fran bridge pokemon be bussin! no cap
Usually, I'm fine with objectmon, but that's uh. something.
a bridge too far, game freak.
>muh credit
Enjoy skynet, you self-entitled c**ts lmao
Why would they have to? It's their ip and they probably posted on public domain like YouTube. Make your own shit and stop piggybacking.
Pokemon fricking sucks ass nowadays anyway. If you still support the franchise in any capacity then you're fricked.
>you own nothing and you will be happy
not gonna lie i hate those mother frickers but they being so honest about being pieces of shit is kinda based.
>without notice consideration consent or compensation
Jesus lmao
>NNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOO YOU CANT JUST EXPECT ME TO READ THINGS!!!!! I DESERVE CREDIT!!!!!
lmao the absolute state of Poketards
Maybe Communists have a point about copyright law
What do you mean?
Commies are more pro copyright laws than classical liberals.
What's with all the bootlicker replies itt?
>the company said it's okay in the fine print so you aren't allowed to complain or be even slightly upset
They're the same thing anon, YouTubers use twitter as their stage.
>zoomers
hecking wholesome milleniloos are innocent right 🙂
I'm surprised they actually have this clause. Kind of smart on their end, but that really fricks over the fan created content. Not that Pokegays care if they're fricked over at this point, but I'm surprised they're so happy to have their noses rubbed in it.
BWAHAHAHAHA OH NONONONONONO
official pokemon porn games when?
>They actually own all the porn
BASED???
yeah but they wouldn't even be able to use it for anything soo porn creators win again.
Exept taht jap that got fricked over
Nintendo owns the copyright to the live action Mario porn parodies produced in America
Hopefully Nintendo make Rosalina and Samus into canon futa. Right?
Fair Use supersedes this, and I’m fairly certain that porn (as long as it’s not purchased/sold, at least provably) falls under Fair Use. Yes, you can’t make money, but no, the porn isn’t “owned” by them - the character is, but the specific piece, unless endorsed or copyright claimed, isn’t. This does mean, however, that any piece of poképorn that has been claimed and cease&desist’d by TPC IS owned, meaning that it, in partial, is considered canon. I think. Copyright law is weird as shit and also different depending on which jurisdiction you fall under.
Fair use does not exist outside America
>Fair Use supersedes this
Fair use doesn't provide the protection you think it does.
From a business perspective, probably not - what little protections there are could be skirted pretty easily. However, porn produced but not directly sold wouldn’t fall under TPC’s T&S. Whether you could do the patron-art workaround I don’t know, but the fact that Pokemon smut is still alive and well either means
>there’s a legal workaround
>you can’t “sell” but can still produce
>TPC only goes after larger individuals similar to Ankha/Nintendo video
>TPC is too lazy to fight the growing mountain of smut
>TPC doesn’t care
Tl;dr, don’t sell (get caught selling) and you’re fine. Probably.
Imagine living in some cuck country where that is considered legally binding.
lol, lmao even.
guys the new pokemon games are just fan games at this point, don't be so hard on them.
If they were fan games they'd likely have way better level design.
>steal shit from company
>company steals shit back
>"Y-you can't do that!!!"
>steal shit from company
Think before you motherfricking speak, punkass
>steal shit from company
...?
Composing a piece of music is not even close to "stealing".
You really are like the fat guy from the meme wielding swords and screaming "LEAVE THE MULTI BILLIONAIRE COMPANY ALONE!!!", aren't you?
You really are like the homosexuals who were white-knighting for Bayonetta's (former) VA because she wrote lies on twitter
None of it was made by the guy though, he just shuffled some parts from the actual game.
>All this israeli boot licking
For what reason are we being raided by troonyera again this time?
A company using someone's song is way less annoying than some homosexual artist-wannabe whining on twitter.
not an argument
That's pokemon/Nintendo/gamefreak fanbase for you. First time?
What bootlicking?
No one is siding with the YouTuber.
have a nice day Black person
The homosexual is probably subscribed to him and disables adblock for him.
Rightwingers love sucking the dick of corporations, harder than leftoids love sucking the dick of LGBT freaks and minorities in fact.
>stolen fan-cover
for once i like gamefreak for not crediting them. based
>Gamefreak using fan-edits instead of arranging their own music
It's a good thing I haven't paid for a Pokémon game since OR/AS.
small indie company, please understand.
Don't they have legal teams to prevent this sort of thing?
Well that's just pure israelitery
Not really, every copywritten/trademarked material has that by default. It's on the owner to waive those rights.
No usually fanartists can't afford anything like that. They'll just accept cease and desist letters whenever they come and slither onto the next thing to leech on when possible
Tendies love worshipping everything nintendo and their affiliates do
They'll fight tooth and nail defending playing on a shitty underpowered tablet, that's how deranged they are
Then why is it that they're the only fanbase that air their grievances when something doesn't reach their standards?
>actually believing this
That's PC gamers you fricking troony
>PC
>a fanbase
Spoken like a true consolegay.
Even then paid mods is the only recent one in regards to pc. There are more with Nintendo this gen
Gabe won
Anon, if they defended everything we wouldn't even be here right now.
Like clockwork.
Also
>Gamefreak is Nintendo
>pokemon is still the #1 richest entertainment franchise
>graphics look like shit, pokemon look like literal shit, they're stealing shit, card quality is ass
Explain yourselves, pokegays.
It's always looked bad, people liked the monster catching gameplay and had fun watching the cheaply animated show. Also, the spinoff games tend to have more fun and engaging gameplay.
Twittertards destroyed in a single post. Not a single reply on Twitter has an actual argument, just calling him dumb without addressing it. Kek
>posting his own reply
I didnt know you could also own people in Pokemon.
Geniune question: Who actually own the rights to the cover song? If the cover was made without permission, do the original song writers get to claim ownership?
>Who actually own the rights to the cover song?
It's not really a cover just a chopped up version of the original piece. I would say that it belongs to TPC.
>ITT
>ITT
The whole thing around this b***h is hilarious because it proved that Ganker at this point only cares about Twitter gossip.
You are using other people's ideas. It doesn't matter if it's 1 guy or a corporation. It's not a human right to use things that aren't yours. And they can use said thing you made off of their creations if they want to.
>you know, this fan cover is really nice, how about we use it for the trailer, that will make them happy that we listen to the community's fanworks 🙂
I didn't realize how insufferable artists were until social media became a thing
>MUH CREDITS MUH REPOSTS
These people want everyone to bow to their demands like they're fricking deities
No, they just want money for their work.
You don't care because your work can't be stolen.
Like piracy?
Not really, if pirates can't pirate something they won't buy it anyway.
and the public will decide what amount of money their art is worth.
That's how the free market works!
;^)
Not anymore, nowadays you are all plebs who'll pay any amount for anything.
You already pay thousands of dollars for phone game pictures.
dont you lump me in with those skinner box morons. I will never, EVER play a gacha "game."
It's a cover on something they already own. What moron thinks this is worth b***hing about other than talentless morons who can't make their own music?
And you homosexuals will still give them money.
Both songs sound like the in game area zero music to me.
I cam't believe it. GF has a little detail with fans and they just lash out! And you people wonder why they don't "listen to you" so much toxicity! Shame on you
Here is a sob story about how I had a hard time as a kid but playing pokemon helped me through it
#Thankyougamefreak
Oh yeah? Pokemon helped me to come to terms with my femininity. Its all because of her (picture related) ... I'm trans now, btw! :-))
I will buy and support GF for all eternity !!!
#Thankyougamefreak
>women cant fight or be athletic
Chud mentality
their justification is that all black belt class trainers are depicted as male, but humans in real life don't follow a convention of "classes" where all members of a class look identical. this is literally an autistic mindset, but that tracks since all trannies are autistic
That's true. If you're a boy who likes feminine things or a girl who likes masculine things, then you're transsexual and should just transition!
>fan cover
>stolen
It belonged to them in the first place. These people are moronic.
It's a good thing this fan creator made the remix for them, otherwise a Gamefreak Employee might have had to do work. Praise be the community for helping these overworked souls get some respite.
kek honestly based, frick poketards and frick tendies in general.
So what's supposed to be the fan-cover?
Link it if it's true.
You think anyone itt actually attempted to verify those claims?
>I love corporations, please steal fanworks and sue people for trivial reasons
Ganker honestly deserves a boot to the head for being this moronic.
>please "steal" "work" I made off your IP
>my kid drew a crude picture of pikachu for his first grade art project, that means gamefreak gets to sue him for eleven billion dollars
If that stands, then consider the music scene in general and what it would mean.
>twitter thread
Black person
>yfw you haven’t bought pokeslop since the DS era
Should have read the fine print, goyim.
>fan cover
>of Area Zero
absolutely moronic poster. also OP.
Ganker often becomes so contrarian that it collapses in on itself and starts simping for multimillion dollar corporations that produce nothing of value
So much of a threads content can be controlled by simply stating the opposite of what you want to hear in the thread
Horseshoe theory of contrarianism
Have you been in God Hand threads? Contrarians literally defend IGN
FRICKING IGN, the shill company you give cash to have them raise your meta score
You can make them suck off Bobby Kotick if you shape the OP right
This is genuinely a post-elections thing that developed because of redditors coming here with the mindset that
>everyone here on Ganker is a moronic manchild I disagree with morally, such a gross place. It follows that everything they say is wrong and I have to take the exact opposite stance
they are here but they hate the place they're at and the people they talk to. This shit's incredibly common online nowadays, I dont know what causes the particular mental illness but people do that. I hate twitter/reddit gays too but rather than going to twitter/reddit to b***h about how bad twitter/reddit users are I just exchange with the people whose opinions I actually respect
Didn't reddit die recently?
I went on it recently for tech support, it still seemed usable and people responded so idk
Wasn't it twitter? I use neither but Ganker was def. down a day or two ago.
I think twitter just had a name change, reddit i heard got hacked or some shit.
Yeah, they named it Twitter X, like they're going to fight Mavericks or some shit.
No, reddit jannies were complaining because they blocked 3rd party apps from using more than 100 API calls a minute but they were still using the site during that blackout so it was a nothingburger
I thought redditors used firefox, not apps.
Well that's a shame
>Ganker being contrarian is new
How to out yourself as new.
nuance, the extent is new
Blah blah blah who cares you fricking pussies. Cry more about it.
Yes, GF is a terrible, lazy, and scummy company. We all knew that already. It's nothing new.
no wonder why they like a fellow plagiarist like Toby Fox
pokegays deserve the worst
I mean, they hired TobyFox.
Yeah, and his music for the game was kinda shit.
fan art bros... it's joever

>lana's mom raping little boys is now canon
BASED
>draw myself fricking Lana, Lillie and Acerola
>it's officially owned by Nintendo
>me fricking Lana, Lillie and Acerola is now canon in Pokémon lore
HOLY FRICKING BASED!!!
if a company just owning something made it canon, DBGT and the DBZ movies would be canon.
OFFICIAL POKEMON PORN AND PORN GAMES WHEN??? HUMAN MEN X FEMALE POKEMON IS CANON NOW BOYS!!
It's the gift that keeps on giving.
>didn't stop with 2nd gen, the original final generation
I’m personally happy I moved onto SMT
I stopped playing shortly after Heart Gold came out.
>This is some of the most scummy shit I've ever seen a videogame developing company do
Literally every single company has that.
It's a default protection.
Yeah no that won't hold up in court
>GF/TPCi blatantly and lazily stealing fan-content and then passing it off as their own is a good thing actually because...something something trannies
I hate you people with a passion
/pol/mutts love their troony boogeymen. The ones complaining about games getting woke or censored are the same. These mutts dont actually play video games, they just use the community as a stepping stone to own the troons.
True neutral people like me are almost extinct
Nintendo cultists in a nutshell
Shut up or Masuda will sneak into your house at night and put bugs in your anus
Why is there so much corporate wienersucking in this thread
Zoomers worshipping their Internet overlords.
Kind of sad really.
Frick shitendo and frick the shitch
Case in point.
>Case in point.
It would be embarrassing it that actually were the case. Because it was posted on twitter you shouldn't just assume it's the truth
>make a fan pokemon game that has cp
>sue gamefreak since they own it
no matter what you think e-girl and shota porn will never be considered cp
It's so weird how defensive you "people" get when you defend why you should be able to jerk off to children
>state a fact
>WHY ARE YOU SO DEFENSIVE BRO!?!?!??!?!
That a company can own and use fan creations unabated is incredibly israeli but because it's Game Freak and I hate Pokemon fans, great, frick them.
>You can't use things that are "made" from piggybacking and ripping off of your ideas and creations because....YOU JUST CAN'T, OKAY!?
Intellectual "property" spasming aside, this just goes to show how lazy and incompetent the Pokemon devs are. Can't even pull a song from their own asset library, they just roll over and reach past their own fat to google "poekmnon sgonng" and use the first result
>Son dies, father builds a custom grave for him featuring a stone carving of Pikachu
>Nintendo shows up later and steals the grave because it's theirs according to the law
Do Americans really
>Gamefreak is Nintendo
>Gamefreak and Nintendo are The Pokemon Company and The Pokemon Company International
well they are just 2 out of 3 parts actually
That's Disney anon.
Currently playing Sword, just defeated the green fatso.
Does Hop ever stops being an annoying piece shit?
Not really. His entire arc is learning he'll always be second best when compared to you, Bede has a somewhat better arc, and Marnie has her relationship with her brother, and is cute.
Not a single one of the rival characters has a good arc. They're all moronic, I just jack off to Marnie so it's okay.
I didn't say they did. Just that they're better than Hop
>I just jack off to Marnie so it's okay.
based
Bede is a cute twink.
I mean if he will keep interrupting me every 10 steps in the story, i couldnt care less about his character tbh.
That never changes. He also does it in the postgame.
>Does a character in this series ever change
Oh, you serious? Let me laugh even harder!
prove it's a their work and not a verbatim AI recreation trained on their work
their fans are cucks who buy low quality slop that gets worse every gen, that guy probably would've paid game freak to add his track to the game and is probably downing a can of soilent in celebration
Do tendies really?
The pokemon presents reminded me that I don't give a shit about pokemon anymore
It boggles the mind how moronic they've made past designs with their old/future designs.
In theory, yes.
In practice, you just get companies hording IPs and abusing the legal system with laws they probably drafted up themselves.
It will never not be hilarious that people whose much their entire livelihood is on the backs of an IP goes fricking Nintendo mode when someone else uses "their" shit.
>it's a "Ganker discussing intellectual property law" episode
I don’t give a shit about what “rights” you have currently, you shouldn’t have “rights” to begin with.
Would you rather have your "work" "stolen" (reclaimed) by Nintendo or go to jail? Count your blessings, thief.
>Gamefreak is Nintendo
>know the difference between Game Freak and Nintendo
>but not the difference between TPCI and Game Freak
>in a thread about something TPCI's marketing team did
Usually you get paid if you do a cover with it being showcased
>fan cover
I assume the fan has little to no legal footing. Would've been nice if someone was paid, but I fear pursuing such a legal action and losing would just encourage more companies to do stuff like this to save money.
WHY'S POKÉMON GOTTA SUCK SO FRICKING HARD
I HAVEN'T PLAYED A GOOD POKÉMON GAME SINCE SUPER MYSTERY DUNGEON LIKE 8 YEARS AGO
Because Nintendo didn't buy them out when they had the chance.
>Steal gamefreaks music
>Get mad when Gamefreak uses the property you stole
Based moronic Mongs
IP law is literally just about hoarding money and codifying one of the most profitable business practices ever conceived, artificial scarcity. Never let anybody tell you differently
>IP law is literally just about hoarding money
It's literally about giving the creator protective rights and the ability to do with their ideas as they wish.
It also exists to promote creativity so no one can simply copy a creative work.
I think intellectual property was intended to protect and promote scientific innovations, not punish someone for drawing Barney the Dinosaur but orange. Like how does society as a whole benefit from us doing that?
Like with many other questions the answer is "some shady c**t is getting richer somewhere"
>Independent creators and smaller publishers are often more impacted by burdensome copyright restrictions compared to major studios and publishers
>There are many thriving creative communities like open source software, wikis, Creative Commons, etc where participation and contribution occur without restrictive ownership of ideas and source material
Anyway copyright was around 1556.
Holy fricking based
Pokéhomos deserve all the abuse they can get
Gamefreak has been creatively bankrupt since Gen 5.
There are cacti in Nintendo land that are modeled after cact in a NSMB rom hack they DMCA'd too. lol. Also at least a third of Koji Kondo's music is plagiarized.
Damn, that is a lot of porn Game Freak could profit off from.
It used to be a weird degenerate subculture, but more recently with smash and pass, vaporeon memes etc. it seems almost mainstream. Fricking Pokémon. Which are basically animals, or slaves, or household objects. That's some kinky shit.
>Buying Switch Pokemon games
The fans gladly accepted being fricked, Nintendo is in the right here
Switch
>take someone else's property without permission
>use it for your own benefit
>the owner takes back his property that you've transformed without their permission
>NOOOOOOOOOOO YOU CAN'T DO THAT BECAUSE . . . BECAUSE . . . UHHH . . . I-IT'S MIN- . . . UHHH . . . I MADE THA- . . . UHHH . . . YOU JUST CAN'T OK????
>believing a random twitter user
it didn't happen
t. Multibillion dollar company bootlicker
I like how the defenders focus on how it’s legal for GF to do it, and not on how embarrassing it is that they’re unable to create it themselves.
The latter part of your post is a given, which is why it's not being discussed.
I don't care
>tfw born too late to copyright fire
>tfw born when monsanto can copyright food
Oh, that was today?
Okay. Post the new shit pokemon designs and go back to talking about bear sex.
The most fun Pokemon I played in years is literally a fricking minecraft mod lol.
What's it like?
Literally why would they waste time and money making good games if their games are among the best sellers ever anyway?
They wouldn't but you know what? That's the exact argument that defeats the people saying IP law is wrong.
Hold on, TobyFox works for GameFreak does he not? Who made that song?
pretty sure it's his song (actually Kenji Kawai's song but toby being a derivative israelite is nothing new)
Good musicians borrow, great musicians steal. Truly incredible musicians rape a song until it doesnt know who its daddy is
You can tell that a person has never made anything marketable in their lives based on whether they say things like "copyright law shouldn't exist".
why people like shota?
every straight dude in the world had some older chick who made him feel funny when he was younger. A teacher, friend's sister, friend's mom, etc. It's a scenario playing out that fantasy. Apparently some chicks are into it too but I'm not a woman so I don't know their reasons
I always was and still am really ugly and dream of having had more positive formative experiences+being desirable, and shotas don't have money/power which means they're not being "used" outside their appeal to the girl.
nudoom ripped off mods and everyone was fine with it
>switch
>Rare shinies
0/10 not realistic enough.
Best post
Nintendo, Creatures Inc. and Game Freak all own Pokemon. If Pokemon wasn't so lucrative it probably would've fallen down some copyright hole 20 years ago and been inaccessible outside of emulation.
>fan cover
>of their own song
meaning they remixed it themselves and it sounds similar because it's based on the same song
lmao, how can these frickers be part of nintendo's 1st party? LMAO
They aren't, GF is a third party dev.
really? but the pokemon IP is owned by nintendo, so why don't nintendo studios make the games as well? these freaks obviously aren't qualified for making 3D games.
Yeah, GF is only connected to Nintendo through pokemon, why do you think they've been freely making non-pokemon multiplats lately?
I see. I had a misconception that they were part of nintendo because pokemon games are so integral to nintendo systems.
they just got lucky on the initial collaboration and have rode the waver ever since. Go play their most recent non-pokemon masterpiece, little town hero, if you want to see how good they are
You mean "good"
I think pokemon 3D games should be given to more capable studio, especially when switch 2 comes with much powerful hardware.
Creatures owns pokemon, Creatures is owned 50/50 by Nintendo and Gamefreak
>GF is first party
fricking moron
Good
Watch Pokegays happily stand in line for GF's next disaster of a game
>making unauthorised covers
>making unauthorised reviews
>making unauthorised romhacks
>making unauthorised posts
>making unauthorised merch
why are all the switch pokémon games such ugly shitty turds
Why do rightoids hate the very concept of art so much? What is it about the rightoid's brain that stops them from appreciating or experiencing creative thought?
