>>Gamers who follow gaming news might have heard about this already because of patents, but Activision does indeed have a fully functional matchmaking algorithm for Call of Duty which matches players against each other based on a combination skill, purchased microtransactions and preferred weapon used in-game. What I mean with that is for example if a skilled player purchases a $20 skin for a sniper rifle, the matchmaking system will match them against a lesser skilled player who also likes to use that particular sniper rifle but isn't good with it. The goal of the system is to give the lesser skilled player the false impression that the skilled player is doing better than them due to them having purchased the skin, hopefully resulting in the lesser skilled player also purchasing that same skin. I know for a fact that this system has been tested in the final release of a game and that it indeed resulted in a significant increase of microtransaction sales during the test. I don't know if the system is currently active as I'm no longer at the company.

How does Ganker feel about manipulative matchmaking and EOMM in games like Warzone, Apex and other BRs.

Did you not just read the words or something? The assertion is that you will be matched with higher skilled players who do purchase cosmetics.

I hardly care cause I'm never going to play a game with shit like that and people who do are idiots so they deserve to get manipulated.

I don't play these games because I'm not a filthy normalhomosexual but why is playing with people of your own skill level such an issue? Whats fun about decimating a bunch of 7 year olds that cant fight back?

Only morons purchase cosmetics. If a moron is actually doing better than me, then I'll buy a rope and hang myself instead of getting a skin. But morons are moronic and easy to beat, so its cool

It must not be working very well because MW2019 never fails to match me against either shitters who make me turn off the game in 30 minutes or ultrasweats who make me turn off the game in 30 minutes
So much for player retention, I guess
Now some moron shitskin has control of my Activision account because of that leak they had and support won't give it back so I guess I just won't play anymore la mao

For me it's a couple of games where I get a nuke against players that are probably disabled or 3 years old then 100 matches in a team with players that are probably disabled or 3 years old against super sweats and cheaters.

Stills tries to match them with a higher skill skin buyer obviously. Much harder though.
