Personally, I drive those memories away with reflexive exclamations of suicide or self harm.

It keeps coming back as it is repressed and hasn't been dealt with. What I do is psychologically sit down and ask that part of myself something like "What? What do you want? What is there to explore?", get whatever relevant information and learning lesson from it, then discard it. Latching onto it and letting it torment you is fruitless.
Don't listen to the rest of these morons. The reason you keep thinking about these moments is because you've refused to grow from them. "Cringe" moments are learning moments. Yeah sure, you did something cringe, and now you know not to do it again. We all did it. Until you can accept your past cringe and move on you'll always stay stuck in that moment. People's lives are a mix of normal, cringe, good times and bad. If you want to live a life free if cringe you're basically asking not to live at all. You must learn from your past, Anon. Accept the cringe as the growing pains they are, and understand that as a person you're always growing and learning. There will be more cringe to come, as with everyone. But if you learn from it, you will handle it better, and you will become less cringe. When you can recall these moments and laugh, you won't dwell on them anymore.
