They have no idea what the actual job is like because they're recruiters, not the actual workers. Also I'm sure a lot of their bosses are morons who think
        >If I say this braindead easy, entry-level job requires a bachelor's and 4 years of experience, I'll only attract the best workers and I'll have the best company and make the most money!

these are the same morons getting scammed by Indians with totally real Ph.D.s from New Delhi University. my company once hired a "senior developer" pajeet with not one but TWO Ph.D.s in computer science. Whoa! what a genius!
you know what he did? nothing whatsoever. it was a work from home position and he did literally nothing for months, collecting a few paychecks before getting fired. that's the new scam: job hopping/juggling.

50 pounds is the standard requirement, because in most office settings or light retail, you're really only going to be lifting that at the max

Pretty much most guys can lift 50 pounds. That requirement is probably to filter females.

I have a busted shoulder from a car accident and can only lift things one handed, would I be able to sue them for discrimination?

          Anonymous

not if they don't attempt to appropriately try to have you continue to do the job without that requirement, but they will more than likely hire someone else and you have to prove they didn't choose you due to discrimination and not because another person was "better qualified"

i had a job in restaurant management where i made $17/hr plus profit share but somehow managed to dodge all of the duties associated with it. interviewing, hiring, opening, inventory, etc. i basically just closed the store and did a really lazy job at most of the tasks because i managed to convince the boss that pulling all the furniture was an unnecessary chore to do nightly and he agreed with me. i basically speech checked my way through everything i didn't want to do and they still liked me because i was good at making the food and i could work with even the laziest ghetto scum they kept bringing in.

i moved into IT and now i make more being paid to sit on my ass browsing the internet all day and occasionally get called to click mouse buttons for moronic people. i have had to deal with exactly 0 Black folk ever since and life has been an overall improvement.

I'm an accountant in an "accounting firm" (idk if that exists in america), we do accounting and tax reports for clients (businesses, entrepreneurs and the like) and in my country there aren't enough accountants in these types of companies, so we're very sought after, i turned off my linkedin because i didn't want any more recruiters propositions.
So i could quit my job right now and find another one no problem, maybe with even a higher salary. I'm just staying in my current one because i want to get min 1 year experience to be competent and experienced enough. (there's a lot of technical things you have to learn).
The trick is to work a job that's highly sought by recruiters and where there's not enough candidates. Law of offer and demand.
