Rift breaker was pretty neat, although it wound up being more TD than Factorio. Has anybody tried the dlcs for it, I feel like the game needed more than just additional content to improve.
I played Riftbreaker for a little bit. It requires a very powerful PC, looks like.
It really doesn't, slowdowns happen no matter what at some point. Especially if you set up higher spawn rates.
Maybe. But it heated my GPU (1660ti) up to 80C on average settings.
>But it heated my GPU (1660ti) up to 80C on average settings.
Those are perfectly natural temperatures for a GPU under heavy load, what the frick
Makes me uncomfortable.
I felt like it was more ARPG that had you go clearing hordes of monsters then occasionally do a bit of base building. I don't actually play ARPGs though so I can't compare too much.
yeah, the addons didnt really add what was missing from the game
the whole energy/resource system was a mess, as well as the unnecessary tier upgrades and the multitudes of (useless) towers
also there really wasnt much refining and production going on at all, it was just "build mine, build mine, build tower, defend 5 waves, next area"
I was enjoying this game until the godawful dungeon diving missions where you control one or two units. Horrible. Who finds those fun?
Just play free map mode. Forgot how it's called.
i tolerated those and then got my ass pushed in on the final mission in a really shitty way that kinda turned me off of trying to beat it
wish custom maps were both more dynamic and less chinese
honestly the whole "miss one zombie and restart the map" thing was a huge turnoff, in the end i ended up wrting a small script to run autosave so i also didnt have to replay all those goddamn tactics maps
I love the game, but I just wish the early gameplay loop wasn't always the same shit.
Is this They Are Billions? I think it holds the record for amount of times I've checked the store page, considered it, and decided not to. Every time for *years* the reviews have been dominated by players asking for the ability to save during levels so that they don't lose hours of progress due to one mistake.
I don't get it. You want to play it or not?
It looks appealing, but the reviews have been 50 people saying "this game is good but holy shit you need to add a save system" for a fricking decade or however long it's been out
It has autosaves.
Does it though?
Yes, I played it. Do you read review by every moron to decide?
Yes, I read reviews when deciding whether or not to buy a game. Googling it just brings up dozens of threads of people discussing how to cheese the save system so that you don't lose progress, which I guess is why reviewers don't talk about this autosave system. Look at this shit. This is not a save system.
I am also a casual, I am not going to spend hours playing a game only to lose all my progress.
oh no you might lose progress if you fail
how punishing, how unfair, so disrespectful towards the player
These but completely unironically. It's no big loss, but won't buy it lol
aw man 🙁
that's not the same thing. people want to start from a halfway point if they lose, not be forced to record a loss on your campaign and try again. The autosave just lets you walk away and come back later, it's not the "undo a loss" button people want.
I don't want it, but other people sure do, and folks like that other anon who also want it won't buy it because reviews are accurately stating their disappointment
It autosaves when you quit.
Then that's absolutely not the thing any sane person is discussing when they say "I want a save system".
Getting tired of you!
holy frick anon, that isn't what people want and I said that when I typed out:
>The autosave just lets you walk away and come back later, it's not the "undo a loss" button people want.
they want to go back an hour to their last manual save if they frick up.
when they say "i want a save system" they mean "i want to savescum"
I really don't care. This game requires constant attention. If you want to load every time your settlement is attacked that's not possible. But why would anyone play like this?
>I really don't care
and yet here you are, engaged in some moronic argument about it based on your own complete misunderstanding and inability to see things through the eyes of another person.
Have a blessed day.
That's not the point. Most recent games don't have manual saves, just convenient autosaves. Somehow this one is not playable without manual saves? Did you play it at all?
they are casuals
There's dozens of these. I was listing them out but then decided everyone already knew all of them.
what are other good ones besides they are billions and rift, most of the others that i saw where either pretty shit or more on the lines of factorio
mindustry was ok
naurrr why cant i save scum 🙁
theres something clinically wrong with you
So, in the end, you didn't play They Are Billions, and you won't play it, but you NEED it to have manual saves for whatever reason.
At the same time you are afraid to quote and reply while talking about clinical conditions.
Weird? Weird!
Creeper World 1, 2, 3, 4, Particle Fleet: Emergence.
Absolutely love this entire series. Can't wait for the next one.
