What does that mean
A stock split is when a corporation decides to increase the number of shares of their stock. They have to do it evenly because more shares existing devalues the current shares out there so they pick a number and every one of the shares out there is multiplied by the number. If they're doing a 4-1 split then every share of GME is going to turn into 4 shares.
And how do I profit off that if it also devalues all me shares?

Well with a healthy stock the 4 separate shares should combine to be worth about as much as your 1 share used to be. Stock splits have value in the long run. If a stock was a bit overvalued at 500 and the company decided to split and the market was like, yeah 125 makes sense and it drops to that then you figure the price will rise again over time like it did before.
If you own 1 share then after the split you'll have 4.

They needed to figure out how to be an online place to deal with used games. I don't even care if you have to be like OG netflix sending DVDs in the mail. If people could easily get rid of and get new used physical games they could have a spot for themselves in the market.
Problem is they got beaten to the punch, probably before even the EB/GS merger. eBay and Amazon have been in that market for years at this point, and Amazon in particular makes getting rid of your old games pretty simple. No listing fees, no standing in line, just list what you have, print a label, send it in, they tell you your final valuation, and you decide whether to sell or have them ship back anything you felt was undervalued.
