Do NOT buy gaming chairs. They are modeled after seats in racing cars. Said seats are meant to handle high Gs during turnings to protect the driver. Why do you need something like that for sitting at a desk, often for many hours? I would like to buy a stupidly expensive chair, operator one perhaps. They are designed for desk use and many hours at them. Decent office chairs will do though.

These actually are the real deal. Go ask Ganker and they'll all say the same thing. My old company's office had these, and they were really comfy and surprisingly sturdy, even the mesh parts. You can often find them secondhand from companies liquidating office supply.
Herman Miller is a meme. They're great chairs sure, but you can get something almost identical for a fraction of the price. I had an aeron in my office before it closed down and now sit on a 250 euro chinese chair at home and they're almost identical in terms of comfort and support. Only gripe with the chinese one is the fact that the arm rests are a bit wobbly and the headrest isn't made for 180cm+ people.
The secret is to go to a store that resells used office stuff and you can get a Herman Miller that's only been used 9-5 for like a year for $400
