Unironically children. I remember finding the Lavender Town suicide story stuff creepy as a kid but now it's just kinda funny.

Depends. Borrasca is utterly soul crushing in a "I can see that happen" creepypasta. It's basically a /d/ fantasy taken utterly seriously (trigger warning: all of them, at the same time, simultaneously).
NoEnd House is a classic. Also propably a metaphor for drugs. But The classic.
Left right game is alright, best friend to ruin my life alright. Penpal is alright. All those lists are pretty solid, nothing really outstanding, but pretty solid core.
I have an inordinate amount of love for Tales from the gas station (
), but it's a quirky Creepypasta, by design. It's basically half parody, what happens when you get a sleep deprived not quite normy (which he is absolutely not) dealing with stuff ten steps above his paygrade, twenty kinds of mindfrick, and the guy's just accepting it with a shrug and trying not to die. It's funny, in a deadpan way. "So you're the Cthulhu of today" way.
