Gaming laptops are being limited by insatiable HATERS.

You know what I want to see? Put a fricking 4090 DESKTOP graphics card in a laptop form factor. I'm tired of Linus Tech Tips with his weakass arms b***hing about how heavy desktop replacements are. NOBODY buys them thinking they are light, they buy them because they are foldable. Tech reviewers b***hed about how heavy these frickers were for like a decade. But you know what? Now a GT77 is lighter than a GT80 with transcendental levels of more power. Linus can't appreciate this because he thinks that all laptops need to fit the same use case as a school issued chromebook or otherwise "JUST DESKTOP BRO" like being able to game underneath your bed's covers isn't actual heaven.

You know what we lost in the name of Thin And Light? What was sacrificed to attempt to please the chronically ungrateful? REAL DESKTOP POWER. Not to mention part upgradeability, better thermals, hell they used to even have real full size mechanical keyboards. Why should REAL LAPTOP ENJOYERS be at the whim of people who are too weak to bowl, who cant lift 10 pounds? And lets face it, screen size is what matters in terms of portability, not thickness. If you can't fit something 2 inches thick in your bag maybe don't get a backpack made for 5 year old girls you brony.

I 100% understand why most gaming laptop users would want something thinner. But why does EVERYTHING in the form factor have to be designed to be as thin as possible, even the 17+ inch laptops? It's an attempt to satisfy people who aren't in the market for them, and who will b***h about them no matter what because they always compare them to normal laptops. Meanwhile the people who are perfectly fine with more weight if it means a true foldable desktop get shafted.

gaming laptops are shit regardless of the components
the heat buildup will always outweigh the performance, which will be inevitably thermal throttled

The current solution seems to be giving them a fat ass which can also double as an I/O space to reduce clutter.
I think Razer owners are the most cucked out of gaming laptop users, they pay more just to get worse cooling because they want the Apple look and Macs aren't allowed to game. Maybe consider not being a b***h who cares about people thinking your laptop looks unusual? The fan noise is a much bigger distraction than RGB (which you can turn off).

You can fold it up and put it in a bag can't do that with a massive pisscooled tower. Also even the largest laptops are still more portable than any desktop besides some like all in one shit.

Also some people don't want to rot on their throne of ineptitude some people want to switch it up a bit rot on the couch instead.

I don't care about laptop gaming since I have a desktop for that.
    >You know what we lost in the name of Thin And Light?
    >Not to mention part upgradeability, better thermals, hell they used to even have real full size mechanical keyboards.
I agree with this, though. Laptops shouldn't have any parts that can't be replaced and they shouldn't have shitty keyboards. The one and only reason for making them disposable is insatiable greed that should be purged with fire.

I wish Alienware didn't get rid of the Area-51m. Yeah turns out that Dell fricked it over with proprietary GPU shit but it's pretty much peak desktop replacement. Hopefully they can bring it back with actual normal components, even if you can't upgrade GPU generation you should still be able to replace your shit.

Alienware is basically peak aesthetics for me and they have great durability from what I hear, I just wish they didn't get this kinda BS fricking them over.

I got the x16 with the cherryMX mechanical keyboard and 4090 recently, will be using for travel. So far the nicest laptop I've used. Feels very solid, keyboard is great, honestly feels like a gaming macbook in terms of sleekness and durability. I'm sure performance will be throttled but for being away for months at a time, it's a nice compromise. The only thing I dislike is the alienware command center software, its garbage. Everything else solid.

Glad you like it. I think Alienware's current lineup is a bit weird since they are focused on the Thin And Light with the X series being the premium series but there being no X18? And no 17 inch laptops at all for some reason?

It's a gaming laptop it has a 4090 in it!
No it doesn't. It has some mobile abomination that's outputting 10% of what it's desktop namesake is.

Recently got a new laptop with PD support and a 3050. I need to turn the video card off in bios for long battery life but over all it's a amazing package in an ultra thin that plays games at better then expected settings.

I don't need a desktop replacement when traveling as this meets all my needs. I don't mind only getting 80fps in payday 3 at high graphics.

    2.5k display btw.

desktop 4090s are as small as they can be, how the frick can you get this inside a laptop along with a cooler that can cope with an i9-13900k without it being the size of.. uh .. a desktop?
