When I raided in FFXIV, our female healer was the only sane healer we could find. We burned through like 5 male healers who were either insane or constantly absent. One of them literally started crying because ultimate raids were too hard. Healers are strange creatures.

I had the misfortune of cohealing with one of those types for multiple ultimates and savages. Every single one of our clears my cohealer would parse 0 on healing then say it was just because its optimal player, meanwhile we have an extra 200 wipes due to the fact that we're playing with 1.5 healers
That's the most fun type of healing though. I have a co-healer who loves turning his brain off and DPSing and I actively encourage him since it's so much more fun to soloheal. Then again he'll gladly give up on DPSing completely to progress further or recover a bad situation since he's a bro.

Cleaning up after a dumb group/cohealer in random extremes or savages is fun but constantly wiping in an ultimate due to a lack of heals while your cohealing scholar spends every last aetherflow on energy drain for a cool 100 potency is just tiring. Although it was my 6th or 7th job, I played WHM in FFXI, and the LS asked me to do that about 1/3rd of the time. It was only nice to do compared to a buffer like BRD.
Playing BRD in XI was cancer. Probably would have never 75'd it if I didn't luck out and get picked up by a JP static that boosted me 60-75 in like a week.
During my time I played with a few women who were pretty good, and some who genuinely took the game seriously and performed at a high level. Sure there were some clueless gals who just wanted to socialise, but playing poorly is by no means limited to women as anyone would know from playing the game just a ittle bit.
I had a mythic raid leader that was a woman who was in the military in some kind of intelligence role, she was a huge b***h but wasn't bad. Guild leader's wife and cohort of moronic friends could not keep up and just refused to even try to be better. We eventually hit a wall in progression and imploded because these morons which were 20% of the raid did 20% of what a normal player could do.

When I played on wotlk private server there was a girl joining our guild from some guild that broke up. She was quiet and hooked up irl with our maintank who was the funny guy in the guild. In the case of loot I was actually same class and I felt I got prioritized over her, later when merging with another guild some tryhard guy got gear prio.
As a rule I don't join guilds with no women, or a single token one. The toxicity between a femaleless guild and one with several is staggering. Definitely dodged a bullet here.

Stopped raiding from then until a bit in Legion with dragonflight being the first time since I’ve regularly raided.

Let’s say that 10% of everyone is an butthole. If you only talk about the 10% of women who are buttholes and ignore the other 90% of women (and 10% of male buttholes) then suddenly it looks like 100% of women are buttholes/crazy. There are plenty of high end gamers who are women and don’t cause any drama at all. And it’s because they don’t cause drama that they don’t get talked about or taken into account. So then it looks like the very small minority of women are actually the majority and crazy on top of that.

I just looked up the players in the screenshots and they're #1 players on their realm with over 3300-3400 M+ rating. They were doing a 25 or over M+ dungeon. That is one of the hardest things in the game and any single mistake will kill the run and waste 30+ minutes of time for everyone.

When I raided in FFXIV, our female healer was the only sane healer we could find. We burned through like 5 male healers who were either insane or constantly absent. One of them literally started crying because ultimate raids were too hard. Healers are strange creatures.

I play astro in ultimate because its comfy, every job in FF optimizes the fun out of the game especially with the direction endwalker has gone ie 2 min meta and giant ass hitboxes/aoe skills
I had the misfortune of cohealing with one of those types for multiple ultimates and savages. Every single one of our clears my cohealer would parse 0 on healing then say it was just because its optimal player, meanwhile we have an extra 200 wipes due to the fact that we're playing with 1.5 healers
That's the most fun type of healing though. I have a co-healer who loves turning his brain off and DPSing and I actively encourage him since it's so much more fun to soloheal. Then again he'll gladly give up on DPSing completely to progress further or recover a bad situation since he's a bro.
Cleaning up after a dumb group/cohealer in random extremes or savages is fun but constantly wiping in an ultimate due to a lack of heals while your cohealing scholar spends every last aetherflow on energy drain for a cool 100 potency is just tiring. Every other member of that group had to use their mits and cds perfectly to cater to 1 guy that wanted a funny pink number on his fflogs.
And that's how it should be, outside of week 1 savage clears, dps checks aren't super relevant nowadays.
this is why I rather play safe than sorry when I am healer. Green parse doesnt even matter as long as everyone is alive. I do damage when I can but I dont worry about my funny number. espeically in shit like crit savage it is just not worth it
Although it was my 6th or 7th job, I played WHM in FFXI, and the LS asked me to do that about 1/3rd of the time. It was only nice to do compared to a buffer like BRD.
Playing BRD in XI was cancer. Probably would have never 75'd it if I didn't luck out and get picked up by a JP static that boosted me 60-75 in like a week.
During my time I played with a few women who were pretty good, and some who genuinely took the game seriously and performed at a high level. Sure there were some clueless gals who just wanted to socialise, but playing poorly is by no means limited to women as anyone would know from playing the game just a ittle bit.

I played with a husband and wife couple in FFXIV where both were very good.
I had a mythic raid leader that was a woman who was in the military in some kind of intelligence role, she was a huge b***h but wasn't bad. Basically if the woman is part her husband's playgroup she will be terrible, no matter the tier of content she will treat it like a weekly get together of boardgames whjile everyone else picks up the slack.
This post triggered me. Was in a top guild who was the absolute shit, best bants in the biz, and lead the server. But, eventually content became harder. Guild leader's wife and cohort of moronic friends could not keep up and just refused to even try to be better. We eventually hit a wall in progression and imploded because these morons which were 20% of the raid did 20% of what a normal player could do.

When I played on wotlk private server there was a girl joining our guild from some guild that broke up. She was quiet and hooked up irl with our maintank who was the funny guy in the guild. In the case of loot I was actually same class and I felt I got prioritized over her, later when merging with another guild some tryhard guy got gear prio.
As a rule I don't join guilds with no women, or a single token one. The toxicity between a femaleless guild and one with several is staggering. Definitely dodged a bullet here.

Raided with one through WOTLK and actually met the other when she was putting together weekly normal ICC pugs and I joined looking to flex on people gearing up (I was a 6400GS mm Hunter who cleared heroic 25m). She asked me to join her for it weekly to help and I obliged. Joined her guild in Cata and raided through to ToT in MoP before it fell apart. Come to think of it the guild I finished MoP with was also ran be a woman.. guild was okay but a step down from what I had experienced before. I also ended up selling myself as a ringer dps for BoA Garrosh farms then and really burned myself out. Stopped raiding from then until a bit in Legion with dragonflight being the first time since I’ve regularly raided.
