most shit everything after gen 4 added was garbage. Triple battles sucked, rotation battles sucked, hidden abilities sucked as a mechanic though some of them were good ideas, 3d made pokemon soulless.
Peak pokemon would be gen 5 with gen 6 and onwards weather mechanics and pokemon. There's no problem with the pokemon in gens 6-8 (the starters are increasingly shit though, but gen 5 starters also sucked) but megas, z moves and dynamax were all objective cancer. Gen 5 HA weather wars were also cancer but would be mostly fixed by all weather being temporary.
