Mystery gift events were fricking moronic, but at least they were events and tried to treat some of these Pokemon with the proper reference and fanfare. Now these homosexual devs just have a random mailman hand them to you.
i don't really care about pecharunt, but at least they wrote the epilogue story and had it play a role in it. gen 5 did fall victim to the "mailman gives you this ludicrously rare creature" outside of victini, but at least genesect, keldeo and meloetta were triggers for events that only occured if they were in your party
gen 6 and onwards was when gamefreak just gave up on giving mythicals unique stories relegated to them

The Diamond and Pearl versions of the event Pokemon aren't the same as the Platinum versions. I think Darkrai has to be levelled up to level 50 before leaving Gen 4, and Shaymin doesn't have the Fateful Encounter flag that the Platinum event has if you use the void glitch. Then I don't think any versions of Hall of Origin Arceus can be transferred.

You don't even need external devices or emulators. You can do it on legit copies of Emerald even today by executing PC box ACE codes to activate the Mystery Gift.

It allows you to catch the Pokemon, but you can't get them into bank, aside from the Darkrai if you mess around with it. Furthermore, while you catch the Pokemon you don't get the full event. For example, you can't get the Gracidea Flower without having the wonder card.
That said, every event is now accessible with the DNS exploit anyway.

You can put tweaked Arceus in bank if you caught it in diamond, it's only pearl that gets rejected.
The actual legit arceus distributions had diamond as their ot versions and this is what the bank hack check cares about for some reason
