On the other hand, I think it's moronic to say Gliscor, Magnezone, Weavile or Mismagius are much worse than their pre-evos.
I personally like Rhyperior, but I also understand its design is a huge departure from Rhydon's and it doesn't sit right with everyone. Rhyperior is that evo that you either love or hate, with no real in-between.

honestly gen 9 easily had the best cross gen evos, it didnt have too many of them, but there wasnt a dud in the bunch, depending on how you feel about dudunsparce and meme evos lol

Weavile, Probopass are really good because they're basically just the original pokemon but a little bigger. Yanmega is a straight improvement over Yanmaga. The rest have no reason to exist, they're just ugly or forgettable.
The only thing I ever hated about them were the dumbass item trade evolutions required to obtain Rhyperior, Electrivire, Magmortar, Porygon-Z, and Dusknoir.

I like a lot of the Sinnoh cross-gen evos, I just think it's stupid how so many of the new mons got shafted in favor of them. New mons like Luxray & Pachirisu are complete ass compared to cross-gen evos of old mons like Electivire & Magnezone. Seriously, who the frick is using Carnivine over Roserade? The Sinnoh dex has to piggyback off of these evolutions of old mons in order to have a halfway-competent roster, which is why GF tried their hardest to exclude all of them in DP but still had to slip in mons like Ambipom & Weavile. Sinnoh is weird for this.
