it definitely was, i loved all gen 4 games. it had the two Ranger titles and Battle Revolution, too. gen 4 was the last gen where i felt like i loved everything. i liked bw, but it's hard to go back to it. i can replay diamond any day.
depends on why you didn't like DP. If you didn't like the characters, the region, the story, or the pokemon then you probably won't like Platinum.
If you didn't like DP for the pacing, the performance, the limited options, or the visuals, then you oughta give Platinum a shot, especially if you haven't played through Sinnoh since launch.
