Gen 4 zoomed here.

What's the cheapest way I can get ahold of a game boy advance with a copy of pokemon emerald?

I've literally never played a pokemon game that could not be played on the 3DS or Switch.

I want to give the original gen 3 games ago.

    >What's the cheapest way I can get ahold of a game boy advance with a copy of pokemon emerald?
In order of Cheapest to Most Easily Accessible:
    >Theft
    >Get extremely lucky at an estate sale/car boot sale/charity shop
    >Pawn shop
    >FB Marketplace/Ebay
    >Local retro store

Alternatively, homebrew your 3DS, inject a VC copy of Emerald and install PKSM so you can move your pokemon out into Gen 4. If you're dead-set on playing on a GBA, buy an EZFlash Omega.

        >cheapest way
        Emulate on your 3DS/computer/phone
        >less cheap
Rom on a flashcart, need a GBA or DA if you only have a 3DS
        >stupid
ebay, be wary of cheap fakes

You found Ganker but you can't look up simple terms on google like how to emulate a gba game?

Stop it you moronic zoomer this isn't a fricking excuse anymore.
VBA is standalone, you can just drag and drop a .gba file onto it and you're good to go.
Stop intentionally being stupid. I hate how much people act like emulating a fricking gba game requires astrophysical knowledge.

        Here's how you do it

        >Search mGBA
        >Download mGBA
        >Search for GBA roms
        >Download pokemon roms. Can play from gen 1 to gen 3.
        >Download other monster collecting games while you are at it
        >Maybe play GBA exclusive games as well (at the time)
        >Enjoy playing Gen 3
        Easy as pie
        >But muh traded evos
You have gamesharks, codebreakers, action replays, and even fricking PKHex to have any pokemon you want, the way you want it.
PC time is now, old man. Save and emulate the future.

You know you can emulate it with patches that makes trade evolutions possible through level up, and also makes version exclusive mons all available right? Why would you ever buy a cart? Playing Pokemon games vanilla after the generation has passed is a subpar experience because you have nobody to legitimately trade with.

Don't waste your time buying one, it'll end up being counterfeit. Just emulate.

I've sold tens of thousands of dollars worth of chinese repro carts, though I don't scam people(I sell them as repros). it's pretty easy to not get scammed if you look for batteries and indented numbers on the stickers.

        >I've sold tens of thousands of dollars worth of chinese repro carts
        You are scu-

        >(I sell them as repros)
My bad, that's fine. I've seen some videos about reconfiguring the repro copies to install tabbed batteries, and thus re-enable timed events again. A seller might be able to sell them for higher that way.

a gba sp with a bright screen will cost you. and you can buy an everdrive for $100 which lets you play gba roms on a cart

imo pokemmo is by far the best way to enjoy any games from gen 1-5, though an argument could be made for HGSS due to the alternative kanto. and it's free.

Yeah, pokemmo is great if you like your screen cluttered by hispanics in gaudy outfits

go to literally any rom site, download an emulator for your phone, and play it
it's so easy that even a Black person could do it, which leads me to believe that you are actually an abbo
are you an abbo, OP? do you enjoy drinking petrol from a can?

    >My old GBA Micro and copy of Emerald is now unaffordable to the kids of the next generation

    Ridiculous
Anyway, I dug mine out to sell but ended up soldering in a new battery and playing it instead. Greatly enjoying my decision

Do not buy a copy for $180 when you can just get a high end flashcart which supports all of the games with full functionality for less

    Aside from OPs handicap

Anyone know of a hack that adds night to Emerald, has anyone done this? I like RSE but its lack of night is the single most thing keeping me from enjoying the games.

I don't think there's one that only adds that without a bunch of extra shit

I always wanted to get extra copies of Crystal and Emerald to do the exclusive multiplayer stuff in them, I shouldn't have hesistated when I thought 90-100$ was too expensive for them.

just get an sp with no backlight on ebay, the frontlight model is perfectly visible and only morons care, plus theyre cheap-ish
do not bother with buying a pokemon game unless you find one thats had like its label ripped off and has been drawn all over going for cheap cus thats the only way youll find a real copy for cheap, just buy an everdrive unless you actually want to transfer to gen 4, which you probably dont
