Kanto more or less made the Safari Zone to fit designs that were too good to scrap but also didn't fit properly with the rest of the game world. Gen 1 has a lot of those slightly scuffed Pokemon distribution issues, it feels like Oddish and Belsprout were used as midgame filler for the like 20 other Pokemon they cut. It's not DP levels of absolutely dreadful distribution, but it's about on par with GS having similar issues. RS and BW don't really have that issue on a large scale and every game after has too many Pokemon on every route in the first place so the distribution issues kind of go in the opposite direction.
I agree with the Safari but we didnt get a proper replacement, I for one think something like an open area that is savanna themed would be a great replacement
I mean there is the Entralink. No one gets mad at. it being removed when it shouldn't have. Same exact scenario as ball seals (HGSS technically removed).

It's been a while but PLA's big chunky menus were easy to use, the thing about the reuglar / SV bag design is that so much shit is stuffed into a single pocket. They need to separate the "battle items" bag into like 3 different bags because right now it houses >stat boosting vitamins >exp crystal things >tera crystals >evo items and evo stones >every actual battle item of which theres like 100 now
I guess this is less a critique of the menu design and more a GF incompetence issue though. HGSS has the best bag menu but 2 screens vs 1 isn't really fair.
