I choose my starter based off of stats or design
the thing is i’m gonna play ruby and sapphire as well for dex completion and i feel it would have made more sense to do mudkip on sapphire and torchic on ruby

my first playthrough I chose Treecko got to Slateport beach with Grovyle realized it sucks started over with Torchic and the rest is history
turns out Sceptile is the competitive jannetty over all these years
