I understand their hesitance on banning tera because it would be two Gens in a row where singles can't use the generational gimmick.
Even though I think Dynamax is a shit mechanic, maybe it shouldn't have been banned because Gen 8 was boring as frick on the singles Smogon side after everything was said and done. I'd rather have no gimmicks at all in the first place, but Game Freak is gonna keep doing them because they want a "hook" for each Gen.

NTA, but It's sad they rather waste time and resources on a one-off gimmick rather than adding more content to the games and expanding on features already present. I started VGC in Gen 6 and I seriously miss super training. Wasn't a fan of megas, but I'm losing my drive to continue playing VGC because of the gimmicks. I can admit that the way things are ,maybe it's not for me. I wish I had played VGC early gens when I didn't have to worry about Heatran turning into a fairy type.

It's clearly not their fault though. Gamefreak clearly is creatively bankrupt and things are only going to get worse as long as they insist on making these moronic gimmicks each gen. Things will be fun again if GF just stops trying to make these gimmicks or at least keep them for side content and out of comp.
The gimmicks will continue to be made every gen because GameFreak's scared of genuinely innovating the fundamental system, but also doesn't want things to get stale despite evidence pointing towards the vast majority not caring that they're still buying a game that's identical to Gen 1 Pokemon at its absolute core in regards to the gameplay loop.

This is the part that pisses me off. People will still buy the games even if they have no gimmick. I highly doubt anyone is buying these games or playing comp purely for the gimmick. Battling is fun. Teambuilding is fun. innovating is fun. Teambuilding for gimmicks and then having to start all over again net gen for another is not fun.They really should just ban Tera all together. If it was up to me, I would ban all gimmicks and have the games pure again like they were back in Gen 1-5. It's just sad to see all these bans because of some shitty gimmick.
Tera as a whole getting banned is probably going to boil down to what happens with the 19th Tera Type and any further special snowflake Tera Forms that belong to Pokemon that are normally shitmons that makes them monstrously good in a way that the whole species gets banned because "don't want muh complicated bans", you can tell they REALLY don't want to cast judgement too soon after all of the memes and shitposting about how quickly Dynamax got banned from Smogon's Gen 8 formats.

Gliscor isn't necessarily the problem, the actual problem is Gholdengo making removing hazards basically impossible. Its just that Gliscor is the best hazard setter in the game and its versatile enough that it can be an offensive threat if its a SD set
They're waiting for dlc2 to drop first. Compared to the beginning of the gen I think there's a lot more sentiment now that tera needs to go.

They're probably waiting for the meta to "settle" once DLC2 releases by merit of there no longer being any new mechanics or features before considering anything like that, but there's already plenty of unofficial format activity for the tier you've proposed going by the name UUbers.
UUbers is pretty fun. Most of the meta-warpings Ubers are still filtered out, so you see a lot of non-Ubers in the tier.

Two factors for Gliscor's ascendancy: the lack of strong water/ice types to deal with it because of Dexit, and Gholdengo being the ultimate counter to hazard removal.
Gholdengo should be banned, but Smogon probably won't have the guts since it's dominated the meta from the beginning of the gen.

It's funny it's true, any ice types worth a damn who run Freeze-Dry, a method that could VERY safely counter Tera Water Gliscor, are stuck in Ubers.
It's important because hazards and especially spikes are really broken this gen, and Gliscor is probably the best spiker out there
What's moronic though is to ban Gliscor for being a very good spiker in a spike meta instead of banning what created the spike meta in the first place (Gholdengo)
it isn't just that, you gotta consider hidden power is gone so there are not too many reliable moves that can deal with gliscor swiftly
oh and that water or ice move you clicked, sorry I tera watered, toxic'd you, and then can protect next turn and probably overall gain health from this interaction

The only things on standard stall teams that can really hit Gliscor are Tusk if its running Ice Spinner or Dondozo if it gets lucky with its Sleep Talks.
