Sir, railroading players into cutscenes several times in a row does not make for a "well polished campaign experience". It slows the game down massively and reduces player freedom, and Gen 7 is the absolute worst for it.

It does, when the story and difficulty is well crafted to justify it.
Gen 5 had the issue where it railroaded the player into cutscenes but the difficulty and writing is still as terrible as the older games.

They had to spend a lot of time making sure Lusamine wasn't a complete monster so she'd be more marketable, when people loved her because she was a great villain to overcome.

Enjoy being part of the tradition. "Two generations ago was peak" has been par for course since Gen 3 was released. Can't wait to hear why Gen 8 was the last bastion of pokemon in a few years.
I was hoping that Gen 6 would break the cycle, since it's the worst generation, but not even that could do it.
The only positives anyone can say about Galar is it has hot women in it.
