How do you feel about the Generation 9 designs currently without the unknown additions that we will get in DLC part 2 and maybe in the game next year? How do you think will GameFreak continue in Generation 10 with designing new Pokémon?
I have the feeling that GameFreak will break so many rules and try more and more out like hybride Pokémon or other crazy ideas like the Bloodmoon Ursaluna.

We don’t know. We only know the first DLC but not much of the second which is why we only have artworks of those Pokémon. All we know is that there are 4 o thef species of Pokemon in here and we know of at least 1.

I think they're pretty weak but I do like Klawf, Mabostiff, and Cetitan. Skeledirge is really close to being good but misses the mark. I like Slither Wing but it's just comfy Volcarona. The modeling on some of them is just atrocious, honestly. They actually took the time to update some of the XY models but damn that must have cut into time for the new ones.

Too many single and two-stages pkm, which leads them to be mid, or as ppl like to say shitmons... I really don't get why we have so many of those this generation. It feels incomplete.

everything is fine aside from Quaxwell, Oinkologne M/F, Pawmo, Dolliv, and Shroodle. Frigibax is also bad but I find it funny that its canonically powered by urine so it gets a pass
I feel like we’re going to get more mons like Roaring Moon and Dipplin that swipe the design concepts from Mega’s and Gigantamax. Whether they’re permanent evos of just new forms, who knows, but I doubt we’re ever getting those old gimmicks back.

I think 95% of gen 9 are awful. I hate so many of them.
I’ve overwhelmingly liked every last generation so far, even 8 despite dexcut. If I ever bought SV I don’t think there’s even six that I like that I would be able to make a team with. I especially hate the paradox shit. The dark type dog is now my most hated pokemon design.

Well it’s hard because this is subjective so take it with a grain of salt.
Overall, the dex just feels full of junky filler mon and NFE’s as the final stages. Too many of these just feel like “haha what if we made this type of pokemon but had it look like this instead, that would shock everyone!”.
You have two generic looking mice evolve into a group of 3 or 4? The base design doesn’t even look like a pokemon, it looks like something on a wrapper for some type of Japanese food. There’s finally a dolphin that evolves into something that looks identical to its devious form, but form changes into a pseudo-anthro mon. Why couldn’t we have just had a dolphin? They finally make a 3 stage pikaclone line with a cool typing, electric/fighting, but they completely fricked it up. It’s like they almost consciously took the meme of “it just gets bigger”. Dunsparce finally gets some sort of evolution only for it to be a joke in that it looks almost the same. There’s finally a grass/fire type that instead of being something cool mike maybe based more on a basilisk just looks goofy and cartoony/frail. I also hate the sushi thing, the stork, the pompadour bird, they’re all just terrible designs that feel like that have a central theme or goofy or not serious.
I also think the paradox things are a waste of dex space. Why can’t they just be forms of the original Pokemon? Take them out and gen 9 doesn’t feel very big.
I think the starters are alright. I also like wattrel. That’s pretty much it.
It does feel like they've fallen into a habit of letting the concept justify the pokemon. And not in the sense of "this is a really good idea and interesting concept, this would make a good pokemon", it feels like just because they came up with some absolutely moronic shit that hasn't been done and nobody would think of it (because it's moronic), they just convince themselves that it must be a good idea and just hammer it out into something when the concept never should have got past writing on a notepad in the first place.
I don't fricking care if it's been done before, I don't care if they googled up some very particular obscure variety of crab that hasn't been a pokemon yet, it's not actually creativity, it's needlessly pedantic and I'd rather they just drew a cool horse or cat or mouse with a solid design that doesn't need a origin section spanning the length of my screen on bulbapedia to justify its existence.

What constitutes a "Pokemon" has changed so much, not just over the years, but from one gen to the next, that acting like there's some sort of connective visual throughline outside of the basic concepts that go into them is moronic. What it means to be a Pokemon hasn't been consistent since Gen 3 released over 20 years ago
Like I said, my take is subjective and given that, I’ve never really used such a baseless take to explain why I don’t like a pokemon design across 8 generations. The mouse is too plain, simple, unremarkable. It looks like something I’d see on a candy wrapper imported from Japan/China. The fact that it “evolves” into 4 of it is just stupid. And no I don’t defend designs like dugtrio.

Best new mon designs since gen 5 by far. Veeery far. Most of gen 8 nearly made me puke. Expecially the final starter evos. First gen I will probably replay without a starter in my team, and only IF I actually touch these virtual miserys ever again which is unlikely.

farigiraf and bombirdier are the best of this whole gen
This generation's dex felt less cohesive than Galar's. It just feels too messy and random, whereas Galar's dex tied together really well with the whole Britain theming. But there's a lot of designs I like. Lokix, Garganacl, Scovillain and Dondozo are all new favourites of mine. Most of the dex ranges from shit to mediocre.
Gen 9 has some of the ugliest and stupidest designs so far, but I honestly feel like the designs themselves are not the biggest problem this time. They've got some decent silhouettes in there and aren't being ruined by schizophrenic clashing shapes and patterns (as was the problem in earlier gens, I feel like they've managed to avoid Louis Wain maxxing), but to me a lot of these pokemon are literally just made hard to look at because of poor color choices (a lot of very bright neon colors mashed together with very flat overall tone and contrast) and extremely hard to read eyes and faces (huge problem).
A lot of the designs make no attempt to make the characters eyes or head the place that the viewer looks first, they're almost always competing or being overpowered by some other finicky detail or feature. Which could be acceptable in some cases, but this is the reason why so many of these pokemon elicit a "what the frick am I looking at" feeling on first viewing.

I'm sure Generation 10 designs will be so controverisal because GF will try many new things with colours and shapes and reusing old designs into new ones.
There will be a lot of anons saying they liked every dex but that Gen 10's is the worst one, just like they did for every other gen and just like they're doing in this thread.

Every gen has their good and bad designs, but I feel like gen 6 has some of the worst designs and can only pick out a few that I actually like. Possibly gen 7, too, the worst offender being Bruxish, of course and, again, can only pick out a handfull that are actually good.

Probably one of the most middle of the road generations. Not many I hate, not many I love, just a bunch of kinda bland new gen pokémon designs that aren't particularly good or offensive.
This is how I feel overall. One slash means I'm 50/50 on it, two means I hate it. I think gen 9 is pretty good but the ones that are bad are really bad.
Quaquaval is Primarina levels of disappointing and while I know what the idea they were going for it's terrible. It just looks idiotic.
The entire Pawmi line shouldn't be a three-evo line. Pick two and throw the third out, it's a waste of a slot.
Armarouge and Ceruledge are not bad designs for Megaman, they're bad designs for Pokemon. Charcadet is a Pokemon.
Scovillain just looks dumb and I hate its lower tier being everywhere and almost invisible.
Rellor is fine and probably should have had a re-do to make it look better as a single Pokemon rather than have an evo because Rabsca sucks.
Flittle needs to make more sense evolving into Espathra, I really don't get it, but both designs are fine.
Wugtrio is garbage just because of the color change. If it was white I would have no issues.
Cetoddle and Cetitan are just garbage.
Scream Tail and Flutter Mane aren't bad per se, but compared to everyone else they're just massively underwhelming and feel like they have no effort put into them.
Baxcalibur's line just looks bad outside of Arctibax.
Kraft's Mac n' Cheese mascot is a mixed bag and I both like Gholdengo and hate it.
Ting-Lu would be fine without the bowl on its head.
Roaring Moon would be better without the black feather coat thing I think.
Koraidon is primarily for its ride mode. The ride mode alone should make everyone want Violet by default. In its active mode it's fine I guess.
Walking Wake is just no, I really hate that velociraptor-looking ass.
Iron Leaves feels lazier than the rest of the paradox mons.
The new Ursaluna looks horrendously bad compared to the original.
Raging Bolt I didn't like at first but it really grew on me.
Archaludon only really looks dumb in railgun bridge form. I don't mind the stapler form.
Yokai Watch Pokemon also look okay, but they're still Yokai, not Pokemon.
