3.5 was caribert and windblume, 2.5 was raiden act 2 and the three realms gateway offering, and 1.5 was zhongli act 2, windtrace and the release of the serenitea pot, so saying it's because it's a x.5 patch doesnt mean much, it's dry even for a x.5 patch.

they just completely overhauled her kit. her charged attack is now pointless, and damage is tied more to burst. jury is still out but it's looking like she'll be C1 bait because her rotation will be EQE, rotate out, then when she comes back she'll have to do a NA string to get her E back in a reasonable amount of time. C1 gives her interruption resistance so that she can complete that string. she may wind up being a worse hutao. but who knows what will happen? hoyo probably doesn't even know

The buffs to MoC are hyper specific, but Abyss buffs are usually just buffing an element or reaction, or maybe sometimes it buffs shield users which multiple characters can do. The damage is completely insignificant since no team is going to be spamming constructs every 6 seconds, unlike the ridiculous buffs you get in MoC that can straight up delete half a boss healthbar at the start of the turn. My point is that she was still very hyped up and people kept saying you should pull for her, but I already have Luocha and Fu Xuan, so I did not see the need to pull for Huohuo at all.

How the characters are designed/shilled is due to how much they are designed around content or specific gameplay at the time of their release. Also, with a lot of Genshin's characters, the usual character release are average/bad, constellation or weapon reliant (or both), or needing C6 dedicated 4 stars compared to Star Rail, where none of the limited 5 stars are bad or useless even without their eidolons/light cone.

I liked Idyia being a hydro Bocchi, the storytelling sidemission was amusing, Eula and Collei were cute (just wish we actually saw Eula teach her how to dance), and carsick Kokomi was amusing Still prefer GAA2, but it's hard to top the concentrated dopamime I got out of Fischl's castle, so I don't hold that against Bottleland. I'm just kinda sad people were so fricking moronic and hooked on instant gratification, that they bombed the shit out of puzzles in surveys wen Mona's island filtered them.
I too prefer GAA2, the story was really fun and the islands all had an unique style, even Xinyan's (it kinda looked like Hell with those thorns and flames lol). I wish the Immernachtreich was a real location in the game. They should really consider that. Also the ravens statues were funny.
I also enjoyed the first island too. Traveling on a dragon's back and the mystery of the Inazuman puppet.
Botteland was cute, and fun in a way but it looked too much like regular Sumeru. I'm curious wondering what we're getting this year
I prefer GAA1 because it was soulful and fun to explore. GAA2 feels like a feverdream with content randomly slapped together and the islands themselves are essentially meaningless.
As cool as Fish's castle was, sometimes less is more.

They're already fixing this with focus mode. They tried to fix it in 4.1 but it didn't work so now they're adding a special "focus mode" that ignores every other quest except the one you're doing. If that doesn't work then we'll see a 3rd attempt I guess.
My favorite QoL is CHESTS ON MAP. They're FINALLY making the chest compasses not garbage and they show whatever chest you're looking for on the minimap now.

Sadly the nature of gacha in general, unless we get new versions of characters down the line. Characters becoming permanently different would result in having to branch into a lot of different possibilities in events, which isn't going to work, especially with the mindset that players starting 1.x or 4.x should have relative parity. It's why a lot of events are NPc focused, they can safely be exploited for this.

I too prefer GAA2, the story was really fun and the islands all had an unique style, even Xinyan's (it kinda looked like Hell with those thorns and flames lol). I wish the Immernachtreich was a real location in the game. They should really consider that. Also the ravens statues were funny.
I also enjoyed the first island too. Traveling on a dragon's back and the mystery of the Inazuman puppet.
Botteland was cute, and fun in a way but it looked too much like regular Sumeru. I'm curious wondering what we're getting this year

The mines refers to relics, which tbh, is way worse in HSR, in Genshin I can just randomly farm bosses or whatever and half the time I get good stats(without leveling), while in HSR I can't even get a decent base stats relics on my BS. HSR has an easier character "boss" mat farm though.
Also, the problem with Genshin is that it doesn't know what it wants to be. It doesn't lean into PC because the game is too simple, but playing it on the phone is unplayable for me.
I play Genshin mostly because I love seeing numbers blowing up and I enjoy FX and animations in general, like Raiden's skills are very pretty imo, but don't feel over the top, I wish more fantasy games would try making flashy skills, western fantasy games.

Well, my phone is shit for Genshin, I'm used to 60-144hz gameplay, but even without that, I remember trying to do some dailies and I would fail miserably on those timed "race" daily quests. I'm not really a mobile gamer, so there is that. I didn't have that much problem with cod mobile when it came out though, but that's probably because of aim assist and shieet.
I'm not a mobile player either but it just looks better on my iphone/ipad for some reason. And it runs ridiculously smooth too, on top of being more practical

Plants mainly die when exposed to extreme cold. Their relationship with electricity is interesting. Flowers have a slight negative charge, which helps them attract pollinators, who have a slight positive charge in their bodies and sensory hairs. Some flowers can build a positive charge from pollinator visits, and after they hit a certain level, they release scent. That's actually my main point against his successors. Yupeng's music always sounded different from typical JRPG fare.
No offense to Chrono or any JRPGs, I'm a fan of the genre, but music in them usually falls into a few set patterns that get awfully repetitive as you rack up more games. And at that point I started to appreciate things that felt different a lot more. Be it outright comedy of tracks in Disgaea, chill of Ayesha or 2000s retro vibes of Neptunia.
Fontaine and Chenyu both have a set of generic tracks and dedicated "now you'll actually start paying attention" tracks like the Ordo hideouts. I don't feel that's the same style as Yupeng and his ear orgasm traveling picturesque plains.
I do still think Sumeru is the best OST in the game and its not even close. Yupeng is unique but I think Fontaine just suffers from it being France which is basically generic classical music anyways.
Shaoji is fricking them in the ass atm so I don't blame the poor things.

Another wrinkle is the release of ZZZ later this year and HSR's anniversary, so I think they're going to have to drop 5.0 in September at the latest. That means a 4.9 is possible but would be cutting it close to having the 5.0-5.2 hype cycle overshadowing everything else, presuming that the bulk of Natlan will be in those patches

I liked Idyia being a hydro Bocchi, the storytelling sidemission was amusing, Eula and Collei were cute (just wish we actually saw Eula teach her how to dance), and carsick Kokomi was amusing Still prefer GAA2, but it's hard to top the concentrated dopamime I got out of Fischl's castle, so I don't hold that against Bottleland. I'm just kinda sad people were so fricking moronic and hooked on instant gratification, that they bombed the shit out of puzzles in surveys wen Mona's island filtered them.
I too prefer GAA2, the story was really fun and the islands all had an unique style, even Xinyan's (it kinda looked like Hell with those thorns and flames lol). I wish the Immernachtreich was a real location in the game. They should really consider that. Also the ravens statues were funny.

No one develops in Genshin. We saw backstories, sure, but characters were the same from when we were first introduced. We only ever see characters at the end of their perceived arcs that they've had.

They're already fixing this with focus mode. They tried to fix it in 4.1 but it didn't work so now they're adding a special "focus mode" that ignores every other quest except the one you're doing. If that doesn't work then we'll see a 3rd attempt I guess.
My favorite QoL is CHESTS ON MAP. They're FINALLY making the chest compasses not garbage and they show whatever chest you're looking for on the minimap now.

Characters becoming permanently different would result in having to branch into a lot of different possibilities in events, which isn't going to work, especially with the mindset that players starting 1.x or 4.x should have relative parity. It's why a lot of events are NPc focused, they can safely be exploited for this.

The mines refers to relics, which tbh, is way worse in HSR, in Genshin I can just randomly farm bosses or whatever and half the time I get good stats(without leveling), while in HSR I can't even get a decent base stats relics on my BS. HSR has an easier character "boss" mat farm though.
Also, the problem with Genshin is that it doesn't know what it wants to be. It doesn't lean into PC because the game is too simple, but playing it on the phone is unplayable for me.
I play Genshin mostly because I love seeing numbers blowing up and I enjoy FX and animations in general, like Raiden's skills are very pretty imo, but don't feel over the top, I wish more fantasy games would try making flashy skills, western fantasy games.

Well, my phone is shit for Genshin, I'm used to 60-144hz gameplay, but even without that, I remember trying to do some dailies and I would fail miserably on those timed "race" daily quests. I'm not really a mobile gamer, so there is that. I didn't have that much problem with cod mobile when it came out though, but that's probably because of aim assist and shieet.

Flowers have a slight negative charge, which helps them attract pollinators, who have a slight positive charge in their bodies and sensory hairs. Some flowers can build a positive charge from pollinator visits, and after they hit a certain level, they release scent. my main issue with Bottleland was... Golden Apple events actually felt like a summer vacation. But Bottleland didn't really feel like that, and the zone was closed in and confined, it felt off.

That's actually my main point against his successors. Yupeng's music always sounded different from typical JRPG fare.
No offense to Chrono or any JRPGs, I'm a fan of the genre, but music in them usually falls into a few set patterns that get awfully repetitive as you rack up more games. And at that point I started to appreciate things that felt different a lot more. Be it outright comedy of tracks in Disgaea, chill of Ayesha or 2000s retro vibes of Neptunia.
Fontaine and Chenyu both have a set of generic tracks and dedicated "now you'll actually start paying attention" tracks like the Ordo hideouts. I don't feel that's the same style as Yupeng and his ear orgasm traveling picturesque plains.
I do still think Sumeru is the best OST in the game and its not even close. Yupeng is unique but I think Fontaine just suffers from it being France which is basically generic classical music anyways.
