I thought he could be a good replacement for Zhongli as a Hu Tao partner because, while you will be missing Zhongli's monster shield, you would still have a shielder plus the very good Pyro Resonance but the way everyone says how abysmal Thoma is drove me away from that idea...
You need to build stacks on his shield and keep attacking, and at the end it's still tied to an expensive 80 cost burst
At that point it's just easier to use C4 Yanfei's shield since her burst costs the same, her shield is a fat 45% of her HP, she can double as a chip healer with Prototype Amber, and she doesn't steal vapes
Don't worry too much about pyro resonance with Hu Tao, she has the lowest base attack in the game so she doesn't gain much. The real benefit of running a pyro shielder is being able to swirl pyro right from the first rotation

No worries. Nice thing about a shield build for Yanfei is that you can leave her talents at level 1 which helps quite a bit, vs Thoma where you need to level him to 90 and still level his talents on top of that
Xinyan straight-up had no event presence for 90% of her existence, so they’re making up for lost time.
Not that I’m complaining, Xinyan is the sexiest Genshin by far.

Ah, neat. I would get it if it weren't for the fact that I have a better Pyro DPS and I never use Diluc. Some 5* already have top-tier designs (e.g.Zhongli, Ganyu) and they'll have to work a lot to surpass them.
He was one of the best offensive characters during launch, but yeah, he got surpassed to the point getting him feels like a bad thing. Hoyoverse gains nothing from buffing old character, only way Diluc could shine again is if they introduced enemies that are resistant to every kind of damage save for Pyro claymores.
I am guessing she will either be a Catalyst or sword user maybe claymore, considering that the leaks have bow dendro characters and a sword character already and we also have 2 spear using archons already and a bow using archon aswell it would make sense she'd be a Archon with a weapon not used before.

I think she's fine but there are other characters who really need to be more central in an event.

Any progress with grasscutter I updated and got rid of everything because I'm a brainlet and i loathed the grasscutter discord. Did they make a version for this patch? Do quests and chest and events actually work now or is it still the same as it was at the beginning

Funny enough Albedo ended up being the better Geo 5 star at the time, at least until they buffed Zhongli and revamped Geo resonance

I respect you all who actually have the patience to sit through the story and dialogue in this game. I generally don’t mind reading stories regardless if they’re aimed at children or not but Genshin has a superb ability to drag the dialogue to obnoxious levels and characters spend five minutes back and forth explaining what could be explained in one minute. I just use an auto-clicker and make sure the cursor is near those “we interrupt the dialogue to bring these meaningless choice just so we can be sure you’re paying attention to the story” boxes to skip the ordeal.

No. Literally nobody is trying to "cancel" Mihoyo. Don't be fricking stupid. A mega-Chinese corporation that panders mostly to people in East Asia can't be cancelled by a small group of disgruntled fans in the West.
What's happening is that an incredibly small portion of the Western fanbase (mostly on twitter but also on other sites) is criticizing Mihoyo for not accurately portraying the skin tones of people living in South Asia, the Middle East, and North Africa. Anyone with more than two brain cells to rub together would be able to see that this is not a "cancellation." It's fairly standard media criticism that any fan would engage in if their expectations are not met. Expecting people not to b***h about character design they're disappointed with in a game that makes most of its money for selling characters with appealing character designs is room-temperature iq levels of intelligence. As long as she gets a way to apply Dendro over time, Collei will be a fine addition to any team and given she's basically copying Amber, she probably gets Amber's burst but stretched over a longer duration.

While i'm very interested in the overarching mystery that will 100% happen around the first arc's final chapters, i.e. Celestia, the ongoing story can't even keep up with some random ass gachas like Counterside or fricking Artery Gear.
I've wondered what would happen if someone were to stop playing for years and come back. From observation, it seems like you'd end up being super confused because there's no straight path through the story. Somehow, you'd end up trying to do a quest only to stop mid way to because another quest gets in the way, so you do that other quest, and then be forced to stop because another quest stops you there too. You'd end up not absorbing anything and have no idea what the hell is happening because of the multiple times you have to leave and do other shit. Not to mention the girth of story you have to wade through just to do a single bit that matters to you. If you want to go to Natlan in a few years, I guarantee you, there's going to be a lot of upfront bullshit that'll be waiting for you when you come back. You really should just quit and not deal with the hassle.

Hu Tao hasn't ever been the best character in the game, she was 2nd at best next to Ganyu but has long since fallen off compared to newer carries like Raiden and Ayaka

I don't think I've ever went from not having much interest in a character to being my favourite as much as I did with Hu Tao. After getting her I started even looking more at character animations and facial expressions during attacks.

Yoimiya is a DPS loss with Yelan if you've got Kazuha, just use Xingqiu and some electro character. Hutao potentially isn't in the same boat because her burst has good up front damage, but still just use a Yelan main DPS kind of team(if you have Kazuha).

I respect you all who actually have the patience to sit through the story and dialogue in this game. I generally don’t mind reading stories regardless if they’re aimed at children or not but Genshin has a superb ability to drag the dialogue to obnoxious levels and characters spend five minutes back and forth explaining what could be explained in one minute. I just use an auto-clicker and make sure the cursor is near those “we interrupt the dialogue to bring these meaningless choice just so we can be sure you’re paying attention to the story” boxes to skip the ordeal.

Although if Collei is a permanent free unit, she's guaranteed to be Amber tier.
Xiangling is a guaranteed free unit
that was during 1.0, when they also created the monster known as Bennet and had very different plans.
They're never going to make a permanent free unit as good as Xiangling because they don't even make any of the new 4*s you have to roll for as good as she is.
As long as she gets a way to apply Dendro over time, Collei will be a fine addition to any team and given she's basically copying Amber, she probably gets Amber's burst but stretched over a longer duration.
Her E is a 3 second boomerang like Xiangling's only directly in front.
Her Q is a 6 second frick-everything-in-this-AOE dendro field.
Why would it break the cycle? 1.0 gave us free 4-stars of all the elements save Anemo.
If she's a reward as a part of the Sumeru story, that really isn't breaking the cycle yeah

I got my Amos free from the standard banner. I get around 32k bloom damage from my R1 unbuffed, which I'm guessing you could probably match if you have better artifacts than me.
I'd say it's a scam to roll for any weapon that you could get for free.
C1 is OK but you're probably gonna get more value from a VV Anemo unit, since they shred way more resistance than Ganyu's C1.

Xiangling, Razor, and Lisa don't have hangouts because they have actual quests. Hangouts are a consolation for not being essential to progressing story bits.

While i'm very interested in the overarching mystery that will 100% happen around the first arc's final chapters, i.e. Celestia, the ongoing story can't even keep up with some random ass gachas like Counterside or fricking Artery Gear.
I've wondered what would happen if someone were to stop playing for years and come back. From observation, it seems like you'd end up being super confused because there's no straight path through the story. Somehow, you'd end up trying to do a quest only to stop mid way to because another quest gets in the way, so you do that other quest, and then be forced to stop because another quest stops you there too. You'd end up not absorbing anything and have no idea what the hell is happening because of the multiple times you have to leave and do other shit. Not to mention the girth of story you have to wade through just to do a single bit that matters to you. If you want to go to Natlan in a few years, I guarantee you, there's going to be a lot of upfront bullshit that'll be waiting for you when you come back. You really should just quit and not deal with the hassle.
They really need to unfrick their quest system, I think that'll be the biggest thing that turns off returning players and not any kind of powercreep

Hu Tao hasn't ever been the best character in the game, she was 2nd at best next to Ganyu but has long since fallen off compared to newer carries like Raiden and Ayaka

Is Yelan good with Yoimiya? They're both my favorite girls.
Yoimiya is a DPS loss with Yelan if you've got Kazuha, just use Xingqiu and some electro character. Hutao potentially isn't in the same boat because her burst has good up front damage, but still just use a Yelan main DPS kind of team(if you have Kazuha).
Genshin is so easy that if you're worrying about DPS loss you probably just have shit builds
