everyone gets doomposted. it's nothing new. doomposter's views of genshin characters exist in a theoretical vacuum where they see spreadsheet numbers and start to visibly sweat. they live in constant fear of every character getting dehya'd and act like its the end of the world if a character does a bit less damage over the course of the rotation, as if it actually made a significant difference in the "endgame." any character that isn't meta-defining at c0 is bricked to them.

I like Chiori but honestly the active and passive skills are nothing special. From what I understand from the leaks, so I could be wrong, the dolls don't even follow you and to make the most of her kit she needs other characters that create Geo constructs. If she were a standard off-banner I wouldn't mind, still better than Qiqi, but saving for characters like Furina and Zhongli or others seems like the most sensible choice to me if you are a f2p player.

What character do you use to carry coop? I personally like Kokomi because its impossible to die unless theres a literal oneshot mechanic like Raiden or Scara and I can make sure the rest of the team doesn't either

These certainly aren't optimal teams to start with but swapping those two might be a good place to start since Jean is overhealing Hu Tao as much as Xianyun would, but without the significant damage bonus Xianyun can offer by letting you plunge on jump cancels.

I honestly don't understand why you'd do that. Combat is one of the weakest points of the game, and input ignoring is rampant. It says a lot that a much older game by the same publisher does it better (at least it doesn't ignore your inputs left and right) though it also gets boring due to all the damage sponge if you don't have the right meta shit.
And then there's the grind. The time you enjoy playing a new character is shorter than the time you need to grind them up to where they need to be, because of how simple they all play.
Pull for who you like, run around with them in the world and explore. As someone who normally plays gacha in a way I do endgame stuff, Genshin could never make me care. I don't even spend Resin, unless I pull.. which I rarely do. Comfy.

For me it's because I like using my characters in fights that last longer than 5 seconds and against a (somewhat) varied set of enemies.
The world building/lore and exploration of the world are the main draws of the game for me and the quality of the landmass updates is really the only thing keeping me playing, but I still enjoy the combat enough to do the Abyss each cycle.
But that's just my opinion on the matter, as you said people should play the game the way they want to. I was just trying to congratulate the anon on finishing the Abyss since he cared enough to try it.

if you choose a character you are guaranteed to lose to another character, if you choose a weapon you are guarenteed to lose to another weapon. at least from how they described it.

It's 1 point and resets after you use it. The character you choose is rate up too which should make getting cons easier, just remember to select the character again after getting them

I'm guessing Beacon and Hunter's Path are going to be permanent or at least frequently available since Dehya and Tighnari will likely never get limited banners again. The only absent standard weapons (PJWS, Amos) are signatures that rerun with limited characters who are either running right now or due for a rerun soon so they'll probably rotate back in a patch or two after they're featured on the regular weapon banner.
Okay so I rewatched the video and they said that if you choose to roll for a character, you can only get characters and vice versa.
And that it will have a similar system like the weapon banner, but you only lose the coinflip one time before getting the one you want (so, in that sense, similar to regular limited wish banners)

She was a very good support when Cryo was still meta. I have her C6 and her endless NA/CA buff was just awesome when paired with Ayaka or Ganyu. As others have said Cryo has fallen out of favour recently so she's been benched for a while.

Yeah, I agree. Since all the characters on the new 3rd banner are always going to be at least a year old and likely powercrept to some degree, it really should have been a guarantee the first time you pull a 5 star, or at least lower the pity count.

The thing about this banner is that characters usually go a long time without rerunning for a reason, so it'll probably be a while before high value characters wind up on it. But it's still a pretty good system for keeping older or less desired units available as the roster inflates.

only like a year-ish. by the end of natlan it'll probably have all of the 2.x characters on it and maybe some of 3.x. it really depends how many characters they pump out between now and then. there are at least two more 5 stars for fontaine, but possibly 3 or 4 depending on if sigewinne is a 5 star and if emilie is released this patch cycle, and then we should expect another 10ish characters for natlan. that's another 10-15 older characters pushed down the list on the limited banner cycle as they start to meet the criteria.
If you guys are willing to spend 2 grand on a single weapon, then I can't wait until next year when you guys have another meltdown as Mihoyo gives you another 3 wishes for the anniversary.

The playable kid model was made for Kl*e and someone figured that a moronic goblin child was the way to go. NPC kids were made after the fact when beta testers complained that there weren't any kids in the overworld, so they lucked out with normal proportions

So even the Chinese players will spend or outspend American and European players.
Just realized there's nothing confirming that the chronicled wish will be a constant recurring thing. For all we know, they could make it every other patch if it doesn't scam enough pity building gambling addicts during its trial run.
i read a leak i wanna say a few weeks ago where the leaker said that the devs are trying to work on smaller map expansions that come out more often instead of making huge ones every couple of patches going forward in development, so part of me thinks we might get another map expansion in 4.7 too considering the size and location of this one.
i just think its weird they are expanding off the plateau toward sumeru when we are still missing a huge chunk of it in the northwest around mont esus. 3.6 brought us to the edge of fontaine so you'd think the final fontaine expansion would bring us toward natlan which a lot of people think is to the west/northwest of fontaine. unless this isnt the final fontaine expansion, or natlan doesnt border fontaine and actually is to the southwest of sumeru through the desert.
i actually think we are going to enter natlan through the desert, but they will trick us with a mondstadt part 2 electric boogaloo starring varka, right before we enter snezhnaya through northern mondstadt.

It's possible that they've started going out again, but we haven't gotten any confirmation about that.

Technically she doesn't "give them" out either way, just an automated process where the Archon gives up a portion of their authority.
But like I said, we can assume it's still broken until we get an electro character whose story states that they received an electro vision within the last year* (as Electro visions stopped going out ~1 year before we went to Inazuma).
*Assuming it's a year because I don't know what kind of timescale the story operates on and we don't get any explicit mentions of how much time has past since we left Inazuma (afaik)

lantern rite is a canon yearly event so its been at least a year and a half since the traveler and paimon left inazuma, but what an actual year in teyvat is compared to our own is probably different as the traveler says in one of their character profile lines that teyvat seems to have a particularly short day and night cycle compared to other places they have been and i dont think a full calendar has every been established anywhere in the setting.

Furina's story quest proved that archons do not give out visions since she got hers from Neuvillette who is a sovereign and the hydro archon throne has been destroyed already
No, Visions are created using powers from the respective Archon, so up until the the end of 4.2 that would have been the divine entity Focalors
Furina's Vision is the first one given out by Neuvillette, it's mentioned as such in his profile. It's also different from other Visions, it has little dragon fangs because it was created using a Sovereign's power instead of an Archon's power
So the question becomes do all Hydro visions after this point have little claws on them irrespective of the nation the person is from or will all Fontainian visions have the little claws on them from this point on?

Hydro Visions because Neuv is the Hydro Sovereign, and it'll only apply to characters who chronologically got their Vision after the end of the 4.2 AQ (after Furina's SQ more specifically)
If they introduce a character who got their Hydro Vision several years ago, then it was given using Focalors power. If we meet a long lived character who got a Hydro Vision before the cataclysm, it was made with Egeria's power

Honestly I always thought Ei's voiceline expressing confusion about there being no new electro visions since she went full moron was just the writers' sloppy attempt at shitcanning the early idea of Archons giving out visions period because they came up with something they liked better. She says that she plays no part in choosing who gets a vision and it comes down to the individual's desire for one, and hints at there being another aspect that will probably be revealed in the game's later stages.
Their power is probably used to make Visions without them knowing, whereas Neuvillette actively choses to be a part of the system because he's tsundere for humanity
Ei choosing to go through with the vision hunt decree has to have had some adverse affect on the throne's ability to dispense visions, either by her actively refusing to part with a portion of her power or celestia deciding that she'd broken her contract and cutting her off from the throne considering electro visions stopped going out right around the time the decree started
well an arguement could be made that she was never the actual archon, since she inherited the gnosis and title of archon from her sister at the end of the cataclysm and discarded the gnosis and cut her self off from celestia almost immediately. makoto might have known about how visions were distributed but ei might have never actually been told how the whole thing worked.

I have at least 2 chest in Mond that respawn at the spot that i already marked as "opened". The chest are at obvious location and near a domain so I'm absolutely sure i already opened the chest before.
No, there are definitely chests that respawn in at least Mondo. You can tell this because they don't give Primos at all. I got one a month or two back on the pillar right next to the weapon materials domain for example, and I know I found one either near Dragonspine or near the Cecilias that did the same thing. It doesn't show Primos in the center nor does it show them in the item list, it just gives you extremely basic chest items.

Thing is, I think they only respawn in one area and I have no idea on the timeframe between spawns. I also think until you find that one it won't spawn another one otherwise this would be far more common to notice.
I have a friend who was telling me for months he was sure chests were respawning because he was finding chests that he was sure he got in Mondstadt multiple times and I kept saying he probably just missed them, but then he said they didn't give him and Primos and then I started finding them as well when I was running around for mats since I pretty much 100% cleared all of it when I first started, and I don't mean the map 100%.

Lower tier chests in Mond and Liyue sometimes didn't give primos, and larger chests only gave 2 primos. This was upped in Inazuma so common chests always gave 2 primos and smaller chests gave 5-10 primos

Those are just chests you missed the first time around. In Mond and Liyue they often despawned during quests and events. When Fontaine launched there was a time trial that despawned during an event as well

Mobile game models like this thrive on creating just enough artificial scarcity to keep you coming back every day to slowly build up your resources. Can't get you hooked if they just hand everything out easily.
Specters don't bounce. Yoimiya has been the premier Specter killer ever since 2.1 came out, she'll even do complete 180s between shots depending on whatever's closest to her
My favorite spectre route is the outer semicircle of Amakumo Peak. No annoying terrain to deal with outside of crossing a small bit of water if you feel like hitting the spawn points on the surrounding islands as well. I do it casually every few days and have plenty of mats stocked up.
Dropped the game a while back, reconsidering picking back up for her, but I need to know, did she actually ammount to anything in the fontaine story or did mihoyo pull a Dottore again? Hyper up character shows up for 10 minutes total and does frick-all besides acting intimidating
She did quite a few things. She was in charge of logistical support for Fontaine at one point, made friends with the Traveler, had a bunch of people investigating the Gnosis and the prophecy for her, was constantly trying to figure out how to prevent the prophecy because she loves Fontaine, and attacked Furina.
For what it's worth Navia was >geo and the most fun unit I think I've pulled in years.
But yeah, Lantern Rite fell kind of flat, I know the X.3 to X.5 or so patches are always dull but it's been feeling really bad this year.
I don't mind these slow patches, there's plenty of games I want to play. Kind of a silly way to look at it I suppose, but it feels like a pleasant break from this live service thing. Still have stuff to do in the new area anyway
Does she really need EM? I gave her Shimenawa, but the best pieces that I've got don't give her any EM, save for her circlet. Also with the EM sands I feel like I'm being memed. I've not leveled up anything yet, but she's my next character I plan to build. >inb4 guilded

According to Fontaine lore, Ancient Remuria sank beneath the waves by the end of the Archon War, so it'll most likely be an instanced area like the Chasm and Enkanomiya
Petrichore is the tiny island you see on the surface, Xavier is from there. Guess it's under Fontaine's jurisdiction even though it looks just as close to Sumeruy as Fontaine, probably because Remuria is underneath
no major events like a festival, no new area, no interlude quest, no new world boss and a single new character that most people will probably skip. it's an abnormally dry x.5 patch.
3.5 was dehya, mika, caribert interlude quest and windblume
2.5 was yae miko and raiden act 2
1.5 was eula, yanfei, zhongli act 2 and the serenitea pot
i've seen the dialogue already on honey impact and unless they are just straight up missing sections of the quests, you're going to be sorely disappointed if you are expecting a lot of character stuff. the most characters appear and interact in chiori's story quest. the potion event only has lisa and jean, and jean is only in it for a bit toward the end, its mostly lisa and an npc named freda. the cat event has albedo, rosaria, mona, fischl, razor and amber, and only albedo and rosaria interact. the rest are one offs between the characters, cats and paimon/the traveler. the other two events are npcs only.
I'm conflicted about getting Chiori. She is very cute but doesn't feel fun to play plus she is nearly useless to me.
I used to be able to control myself a lot better and skip a lot of shit in order to get cons for my Tao but now I almost never get past 10k primos.

if they planned on there being another one after 20 days they would have said so. the faq they released for the chronicled wish specifically states it wont be available all the time. i'm pretty sure it only exists as a way for them to rerun characters the otherwise wouldnt be able to fit into the banner cycle, so i expect there will be at least one more chronicled wish before the end of 4.x, but it might not be directly after this one, it might be in 4.7 or 4.8. as more characters get added to the game it will start to run more often until some unknown point in the future where its necessary for them to run it every single patch because there will be too many characters to rerun.
Rumours say the next patch with have a Liyue flavoured Chronicled Wish banner, kinda sus because Hu Tao and Yelan are eligible but they're veritable money printers

they also already ran in 4.x so it would be their second rerun of the patch if they ran them again. the only characters left that qualify for chronicled wish that havent already had a run this patch cycle are ganyu and kokomi. it really depends on what the consider as not having run in a while. 5 banners? 10 banners? its been 10 banners since 4.0 started.

but we dont really know what qualifies as "recent" but it's at least 12 banners because that's the last time eula and klee ran. almost every character pre-sumeru qualifies, except shenhe who has only run twice, and cyno and nahida are the only sumeru characters that qualify. but who runs with ganyu? you could do childe, zhongli, yelan, or hu tao since they all last ran around the same time. when does kokomi run? is there gonna be an inazuma chronicled wish to fit her into? all the inazuma characters just got reruns except kokomi, its only been 4 banners since ayaka i think, will any of them even qualify as not being "recent"? they still need to fit in shenhe, nilou, alhaitham and wanderer into the normal banners, and they still need to rerun lyney, wriothesley, furina, navia and probably chiori. cloud retainer will probably get the baizhu treatment and not get a rerun in the same patch cycle as release since she isnt a fontaine character. then they still need to squeeze in clorinde and sigewinne somewhere, and any other characters they might have for fontaine like emilie.

I like the character switching with Chiori, feels good just using the skill twice. Tried her with Itto and it's a nice combo when you chuck the bull right afterwards too, probably nice with other characters as well. Basically a much smoother Albedo as expected

It really didn't just cut back on the graphics, it's not like the game is missing major features. Still managed 30fps, and a hacked Switch could OC and run it at 60fps with farther graphics cuts. There was even a joke at the time that the only console that can run Witcher 3 at 60fps was a Switch
Cutting back on graphics is even less of an issue for Genshin because of it's art style, and because the mobile version is already much lighter on resources than the PC/Console version
This is solely an exclusivity deal, and it's nothing new for Genshin >PS5 exclusive volumetric clouds, but only in Jueyun Karst

You underestimate just how CPU intensive Genshin can be. Modern smartphone SoCs are excellent at multi threaded operatins. The Switch, not so much.

Snapdragon 865 also runs it perfectly. That's a 4 years old SoC at this point. In terms of CPU performance is way ahead of the Switch. Not GPU though, the Switch's GPU is better than Adreno 630.
Still, the point remains. The 4-core CPU in Switch is inadequate for Genshin.

It's just 2pc for ATK. The other 2 are Blizzard. I see no reason to give her 4 Blizzard, since her CR is already 75%, with a CD circlet. There's a chance it will go even higher, since all her artifacts are still at lvl 16, except for the flower.
I still haven't grinded artifacts for CR even though her talents are pregrinded minus the weekly boss fight.

chiori gives a speed boost so long as one of your characters is wearing a skin, or non default wings. so its basically permanent unless you are too lazy to change one characters wings.

I like Chiori but honestly the active and passive skills are nothing special. From what I understand from the leaks, so I could be wrong, the dolls don't even follow you and to make the most of her kit she needs other characters that create Geo constructs. If she were a standard off-banner I wouldn't mind, still better than Qiqi, but saving for characters like Furina and Zhongli or others seems like the most sensible choice to me if you are a f2p player.

These certainly aren't optimal teams to start with but swapping those two might be a good place to start since Jean is overhealing Hu Tao as much as Xianyun would, but without the significant damage bonus Xianyun can offer by letting you plunge on jump cancels.
Will consider it next time, maybe get better artifacts too by then. I'm not redoing this one. It's actually my first attempt ever at going past the 10th floor.

I honestly don't understand why you'd do that. Combat is one of the weakest points of the game, and input ignoring is rampant. It says a lot that a much older game by the same publisher does it better (at least it doesn't ignore your inputs left and right) though it also gets boring due to all the damage sponge if you don't have the right meta shit.
And then there's the grind. The time you enjoy playing a new character is shorter than the time you need to grind them up to where they need to be, because of how simple they all play.
Pull for who you like, run around with them in the world and explore. As someone who normally plays gacha in a way I do endgame stuff, Genshin could never make me care. I don't even spend Resin, unless I pull.. which I rarely do. Comfy.

For me it's because I like using my characters in fights that last longer than 5 seconds and against a (somewhat) varied set of enemies.
The world building/lore and exploration of the world are the main draws of the game for me and the quality of the landmass updates is really the only thing keeping me playing, but I still enjoy the combat enough to do the Abyss each cycle.

Okay so I rewatched the video and they said that if you choose to roll for a character, you can only get characters and vice versa.
And that it will have a similar system like the weapon banner, but you only lose the coinflip one time before getting the one you want (so, in that sense, similar to regular limited wish banners)

So, can someone explain just how niche Shenhe actually is? What teams would she even work for? Because it seems like Ganyu, Wriothesley, Ayaka, and Eula would all want her. Is it just because of the Cryo focus? I want her because she's a qt but most people never really talk about her in terms of application.
She's a 5 star that supports one element that's been unsupported for 2 years now.
any cryo dps wants her because she shreds cryo res and boosts cryo dmg from off field. she a4 passive also allows her to boost skill and burst dmg or normal attack dmg depending on if you press or hold her skill.

She does it well, but that's all she does. They gave her high energy costs and relatively low personal damage to discourage anyone but the most dedicated waifu autists from trying to use her as anything but a buff bawd.
She was a very good support when Cryo was still meta. I have her C6 and her endless NA/CA buff was just awesome when paired with Ayaka or Ganyu. As others have said Cryo has fallen out of favour recently so she's been benched for a while.

only like a year-ish. by the end of natlan it'll probably have all of the 2.x characters on it and maybe some of 3.x. it really depends how many characters they pump out between now and then. there are at least two more 5 stars for fontaine, but possibly 3 or 4 depending on if sigewinne is a 5 star and if emilie is released this patch cycle, and then we should expect another 10ish characters for natlan. that's another 10-15 older characters pushed down the list on the limited banner cycle as they start to meet the criteria.
If you guys are willing to spend 2 grand on a single weapon, then I can't wait until next year when you guys have another meltdown as Mihoyo gives you another 3 wishes for the anniversary.

lantern rite is a canon yearly event so its been at least a year and a half since the traveler and paimon left inazuma, but what an actual year in teyvat is compared to our own is probably different as the traveler says in one of their character profile lines that teyvat seems to have a particularly short day and night cycle compared to other places they have been and i dont think a full calendar has every been established anywhere in the setting.

Furina's Vision is the first one given out by Neuvillette, it's mentioned as such in his profile. It's also different from other Visions, it has little dragon fangs because it was created using a Sovereign's power instead of an Archon's power
So the question becomes do all Hydro visions after this point have little claws on them irrespective of the nation the person is from or will all Fontainian visions have the little claws on them from this point on?
Hydro Visions because Neuv is the Hydro Sovereign, and it'll only apply to characters who chronologically got their Vision after the end of the 4.2 AQ (after Furina's SQ more specifically)
If they introduce a character who got their Hydro Vision several years ago, then it was given using Focalors power. If we meet a long lived character who got a Hydro Vision before the cataclysm, it was made with Egeria's power

No, there are definitely chests that respawn in at least Mondo. You can tell this because they don't give Primos at all. I got one a month or two back on the pillar right next to the weapon materials domain for example, and I know I found one either near Dragonspine or near the Cecilias that did the same thing. It doesn't show Primos in the center nor does it show them in the item list, it just gives you extremely basic chest items.

Chests that give primos do not respawn but we do know any basic artifact containers do respawn and they're why autists can do their artifact runs
Thing is, I think they only respawn in one area and I have no idea on the timeframe between spawns. I also think until you find that one it won't spawn another one otherwise this would be far more common to notice.
I have a friend who was telling me for months he was sure chests were respawning because he was finding chests that he was sure he got in Mondstadt multiple times and I kept saying he probably just missed them, but then he said they didn't give him and Primos and then I started finding them as well when I was running around for mats since I pretty much 100% cleared all of it when I first started, and I don't mean the map 100%.
Lower tier chests in Mond and Liyue sometimes didn't give primos, and larger chests only gave 2 primos. This was upped in Inazuma so common chests always gave 2 primos and smaller chests gave 5-10 primos
Then I throw my hands up in the air because I don't know why me or my buddy are getting chests appearing randomly and never giving Primos.
Those are just chests you missed the first time around. In Mond and Liyue they often despawned during quests and events. When Fontaine launched there was a time trial that despawned during an event as well

Specters don't bounce. Yoimiya has been the premier Specter killer ever since 2.1 came out, she'll even do complete 180s between shots depending on whatever's closest to her
My favorite spectre route is the outer semicircle of Amakumo Peak. No annoying terrain to deal with outside of crossing a small bit of water if you feel like hitting the spawn points on the surrounding islands as well. I do it casually every few days and have plenty of mats stocked up.

She was in charge of logistical support for Fontaine at one point, made friends with the Traveler, had a bunch of people investigating the Gnosis and the prophecy for her, was constantly trying to figure out how to prevent the prophecy because she loves Fontaine, and attacked Furina.

If you're running her in aggravate then you're going to want her EM at like 150-300. Shim is kind of a cope set for her at this point though.

i've seen the dialogue already on honey impact and unless they are just straight up missing sections of the quests, you're going to be sorely disappointed if you are expecting a lot of character stuff. the most characters appear and interact in chiori's story quest. the potion event only has lisa and jean, and jean is only in it for a bit toward the end, its mostly lisa and an npc named freda. the cat event has albedo, rosaria, mona, fischl, razor and amber, and only albedo and rosaria interact. the rest are one offs between the characters, cats and paimon/the traveler. the other two events are npcs only.

if they planned on there being another one after 20 days they would have said so. the faq they released for the chronicled wish specifically states it wont be available all the time. i'm pretty sure it only exists as a way for them to rerun characters the otherwise wouldnt be able to fit into the banner cycle, so i expect there will be at least one more chronicled wish before the end of 4.x, but it might not be directly after this one, it might be in 4.7 or 4.8. as more characters get added to the game it will start to run more often until some unknown point in the future where its necessary for them to run it every single patch because there will be too many characters to rerun.
Rumours say the next patch with have a Liyue flavoured Chronicled Wish banner, kinda sus because Hu Tao and Yelan are eligible but they're veritable money printers
they also already ran in 4.x so it would be their second rerun of the patch if they ran them again. the only characters left that qualify for chronicled wish that havent already had a run this patch cycle are ganyu and kokomi. it really depends on what the consider as not having run in a while. 5 banners? 10 banners? its been 10 banners since 4.0 started.

About Gorou: C6 is insane, but he's good before that too for def based dps since his kit buffs DEF and geo damage
Exile is not that hard to get though since you get those from bossing

Bennett isn't as good since she gets so much attack from her burst already

chiori gives a speed boost so long as one of your characters is wearing a skin, or non default wings. so its basically permanent unless you are too lazy to change one characters wings.

Why wouldn't you? Genshin has constant updates that can easily keep you entertained for years on end. Its not like lets say a random game such as Far Cry that once you clear the story and explore a bit its over for good

I'd love this, but sometimes when it bugs out and the camera stays normal, you still notice how much slower the bursts are to trigger compared to 4* ones, since they have to do some fancy pose. But yeah it gets really tedious when it keeps zooming on someone's face over and over, I just want to play the game

Definitely, it's annoying when you're intending to go in x direction but the character just yeets in the opposite direction towards a nearby slime instead

I suppose it's not a big difference, but it just feels better when the camera stays normal. Seems to happen if you're standing in knee-high water. Some of them look kinda funny with the normal view, Yoimia kinda just hovers up doing a weird anti-gravity flip
