Why are you mining? Past a certain threshold you shouldn't really need to mine at all given you need 8 upgraded weapons at min for abyss. And expeditions already cover the ore count in the battle pass.

You yourself didn't actually level. The world around you did. It's possible to frick yourself over from making the enemies too hard. But that's neither here nor there since you probably didn't read any of descriptions/mechanics that explain it.

The implication here is the OP mistook Adventure Rank for actual leveling. There's no way reason to say "I'm level X" because you control of team of people and it's unlikely that OP arbitrarily every character he has to 16 when 20 is the actual max character level before being gated.

Unless mihoyo is just giving adventure experience away now, there's a pretty set structure for how your rank levels. You'll hit 5 soon after the little stormterror session, unlocking wish system. The 3 tutorial dungeons will raise you enough to unlock the resin system & blue leylines. Doing Amber's & Kaeya's story quests will raise you to 12, unlocking gold leylines and the most important thing of all, daily commissions. At that point, you either explore or you advance the archon quest (you should explore first).

Just make sure you put Harbinger of Dawn on Albedo unless you have his event weapon (cinnabar spindle). It's surprisingly his absolute best available weapon.
Nope. I only even put him because people were going on about how great he was, but he does not synergize with my team at all. Mostly just use his rock for platforming.
I still find it funny that Kaeya gives you a free one and most people dismiss it as useless. Fricker just gave away one of the best weapons in the game, right at the beginning.
the game's 1.0 content can be a bit odd like that but it gets alot better once you get to stuff like Inazuma, Sumeru, or the Chasm where the games budget clearly improved.
there are a ton of characters, all of them can be leveled up to 90 so it is rather trivial to level up a single one until you hit ascensions, you usually don't level characters off of enemies but some exp can be gained from that even if it looks like nothing compared to the exp books you get from various sources.
teams are made from combinations of 4 characters at any given time, based on your greentext you didn't get far enough for the combat to be remotely fleshed out at all, *real* damage happens when you combine various elements for reactions, they give you the Anemo version of the traveler to start as while not the strongest reaction it reacts with the most elements letting you "swirl" other elemental auras from one enemy to another and in some cases infuse the attack as well, this can be seen when the anemo traveler uses their ability near a hillichurl holding a torch and it turns orange from the fire via pyro infusion.
