This underwater combat is absolutely riveting. I can barely contain myself from how heartpounding it really is. I absolutely love mashing L2 to do 1/10th of an enemy's health, it really hammers home how strong these crabs are and how vicious their attacks could be if I gave them a chance.
Also, this water censor on the women's butts looks really really stupid, especially when aiming for the attack gets rid of it despite not really zooming in that much so you see their full butt anyway.
They so obviously just split one land release in two patches, the other half is right there, doesn't look any different and together they're about as big as Sumeru jungle

It's funny how little she really has it together. But I guess it makes sense. Venti and Zhongli are first gen. Ei's second gen but she's as a god since the first and she's not inferior in terms of power. Nahida's also second gen but she doesn't know that, and as far as the world's concerned she's first gen. Plus, she's the God of Wisdom and she took to the responsibilities of an Archon like a duck to water.

Yeah, her Trial, unlike many Trials, is also very smooth and intuitive. Once you get how the Skill works, she flows like butter and her Burst is godly as sub-DPS.
I'm heavily leaning towards getting her (with my Guaranteed).

depends, if you're tired you could just follow the story and take your time, but i find exploring kinda relaxing but you might find a somewhat tricky puzzle that may wake you up

Dude, the entire game ever since Mondstadt has been like this. It has been upfront that all the content will be like this. The entire enjoyment of the game comes from seeing different sceneries and overcoming minor puzzles and climbing challenges to get rewarded for it or unlock new stuff. You're basically complaining that Genshin plays like Genshin and they're adding more content that people expect of Genshin.

Can someone explain Lynette's kit? Does it have hp scaling in her damage output? The talent says she consumes some hp but the test trial version is packed with ER. Could an EoSF set work? I know that would be missing the vv anemo shred but since she is an energy hog it seems plausible.
Unless you're C6ing her to use as a main DPS, you're pretty much just going to be popping Skill (C1 to group enemies), dumping Burst, then swapping off of her to Swirl the Burst and likely follow up with a bunch of pops. Even Swirling some Hydro for Dendro application is an option.

3 procs is fun, but with Aqua I find my Yelan hitting like a god damn freight train to the point where it more than makes up for not having that 3rd proc
I park the weapon on Ganyu personally. I use Yelan in abyss with Nahida/Dori/Klee and the extra energy is super nice for Dori and Nahida in particular since they're both full EM and can use the boost.

Looks neat so far. Swimming is novel, but let's see how fresh it still feels after a dozen hours and after all interactables inevitably disappear into primos. For now, underwater segments are delightful. Music is nice as always. Combat is the same as always. Hyperbloom fricking broke the meta, so it doesn't matter anyhow. I'll need to delve into the archon quest another time when I'm ready to read a VN because they always are. All in all, waterworld Mondstadt fits nicely with the rest of the world, especially after a frickton of desert.

Lowest point of the game after the mandatory Ayaka dating quest so everything after it just becomes good in your mind. Sumeru AQ did some good double switcheroos it was actually fun to watch
I actually liked the idea of there being some civil war involving visions and isolationism VS opening up, but there really weren't any fights or quests with a big enough scale to sell the "war" vibes for me, and Raiden just sort of being forgiven was pretty stupid. Yoimiya's quest was pretty cute, though.
Sumeru I felt was slow to start, but then I got really into it when the whole Samsara quest was introduced. Maybe it's just the Star Trek nerd in me coming out, but the whole time-loop setup was interesting to me. I also think the desert is pretty kino, so I was happy to finally get around to exploring it. Liyue was "meh" overall, but I still have fond memories of it because I like Zhongli as a character, and it was around the time that I finally started to take the game a little more seriously; it took me a while to even start his archon quest, and before then I didn't even think to ascend most of my characters or weapons, so it was an interesting time, learning how to build characters properly.
Mondstadt is Mondstadt. I liked it a lot as an introduction to the game. It was more light-hearted and easy to follow, but maybe I'm just looking at it through rose-tinted glasses. I still play mostly Mondstadt characters too, so I kind of have a soft spot for the region.
You forget Shogunbot can pretty much shut down her body any time she wants. Only reason we got to a fight was because Traveler physically carried her to the domain boss fight arena.

Even though Sumeru has three damn deserts the rainforst is some of the best open worlding I've done in years, and the first desert is great as well. Desert 2 and 3 are tiring but they're not bad, it's just that the first desert was already good enough and it becomes a slog after a while.
For me Mondstadt trumps. You weren't expected to have a certain element in your party at all times for the sake of exploration, nor did the story meander or winding itself up ad infinitum. It wasn't by any means the pinnacle of writing, but it was short and to the fricking point.
Liyue started the trend of becoming a museum tour and listening to characters go on and on and on about things that happened thousands of years ago that has little or zero relevancy to what is going on right now.

Sumeru, at least parts 1 and 2, were very well structured. Constantly giving you new upgrades, constantly giving you new mechanics, the verticality is ridiculous and they constantly played with that, the desert's entire underground cave system was incredible, and the fact that all of it interconnects with a majority of the rest of the map was astounding. Yeah, it really sucks that the rainforest is gatekept by the Aranara so if you explore before doing that you do get roadblocked, but overall I was incredibly pleased with what I got.

The only reason it wasn't in all Inuzuma because it got less verticality, in some places with high places it got tons of them and don't forget because of Inazuma also got that teleporting gate thingy.
Sumeru was not the first region that make climbing less a chore, most people even people in here keep saying how shit Liyue was because it got too many steep mountain to climb and calling character like Venti with his E skill a "P2W" since 1.0.
Genshin's story has a massive problem trying to raise the stakes, but it never manages to do so. Every single time paimon and the traveler get intro trouble, everything gets solved in the next 10 minutes.
This game is just wasted potential whenever it comes to the story content.

Rex Lapis' "death" resulted in a massive increase in workload for the Liyue Qixing. Likewise, Nahida alone is able ot make up for the loss of five of the six Sages, including the Grand Sage.
Different nations have different political structures. Inazuma is pretty much self-sufficient without her. And we know this because she dipped out for 500 years after Makoto died. The robot that took her place might as well been stamp of approval for whatever the Kanjou commision because all it could understand was 'GOOD FOR ETERNITY Y/N?'. There is no need for her in present time other than to be a mascot. She's the british royal family pretty much.

I never play gacha game, until genshin exist and couldn't careless about the gambling aspect.
Pic related, gachabux shit I got for free just by doing quests while ignoring the daily stuff because it's barely worth replaying, and even with this much I don't bother to use it because I don't see any point on getting more character than I already got beside making them a bench warmer.
Gacha is still shit tho, but at least this one doesn't have a pop up or notification every time you open up your game that bait you to paid money for gambling.
I don't know if you can do this for other gachashit game because so far I know most of them got PVP and Guild raid system which mean the paying customer got more advantage than the F2P players.
TLDR; if the only reason to play gachashit is the gambling part then your game is not worth playing for me.

It just feels bland like everyone else says, it feels like a "I've already been here before" region just with slow, boring underwater traversal and combat. I don't get why in the hell they would tie your damage to crabs/seals/manta rays and immediately make you lose it as soon as you exit the water or switch abilities, it feels so garbage. The manta ray one is the only thing that does any good damage unless you want to sit there with a thumb up your ass with the crab waiting to get hit.
The overworld stuff is pretty alright, but it feels like Mondstadt with sharper peaks and more robots.

The japanese is awful imo, most of the made up terms in kanji are taken as-is from the original chinese text. Japanese games often write those kind of things in Katakana or at least have a furigana reading. But the main issue is that the text just isn't very interesting to read regardless of the language.

Halsey was never in the Opera in the first place. It was Lynette disguised as her. This is why only the dress is remaining in the tunnel. She probably knocked down the vase while changing her clothes back. Also, nobody went out and the culprit is still in the Opera. Every piece of evidence point to them. The motive is probably related to the prophecy. They are testing the Oracle thing to see how it works, like they said in the Fontaine PV

I haven't played in 8 months so when I come back today to continue the main story I'm treated to a fricking 40 minute talking sequence with zero gameplay and no option to skip or speed up the text. I literally took a shower with auto text on, came back, and found the dialog only advanced two sentences because it wanted a stupid "..." prompt from the player. Then I'm treated to a flashback between two literal who characters that lasted 20 minutes with auto-text on.
After the flashback, the game asked me to wait so I hit start to open the menu and kicked me "out of the domain". So I re-enter and found how I had to go through the whole talking sequence with flashback again.
I hit Alt + F4 and uninstalled. This shit no longer values my time. After gamers suffered through the monotonous and terrible writing of Final Fantasy X, developers made sure to include CUTSCENE/DIALOG skip since. Every single game with excessive cutscenes and dialog has this, except Genshin. Why? All to prevent chinese bots from creating reroll accounts even faster that what they can now. Usually it takes 30 minutes if you speedrun from start to get to rolling but with dialog skip you can probably speedrun it down to 5 minutes. Thanks a lot chink farms.

This underwater combat is absolutely riveting. I can barely contain myself from how heartpounding it really is. I absolutely love mashing L2 to do 1/10th of an enemy's health, it really hammers home how strong these crabs are and how vicious their attacks could be if I gave them a chance.
Also, this water censor on the women's butts looks really really stupid, especially when aiming for the attack gets rid of it despite not really zooming in that much so you see their full butt anyway.

Unless you're C6ing her to use as a main DPS, you're pretty much just going to be popping Skill (C1 to group enemies), dumping Burst, then swapping off of her to Swirl the Burst and likely follow up with a bunch of pops. Even Swirling some Hydro for Dendro application is an option.

I park the weapon on Ganyu personally. I use Yelan in abyss with Nahida/Dori/Klee and the extra energy is super nice for Dori and Nahida in particular since they're both full EM and can use the boost.
C1 Yelan is a massive quality of life increase.

I'll need to delve into the archon quest another time when I'm ready to read a VN because they always are. All in all, waterworld Mondstadt fits nicely with the rest of the world, especially after a frickton of desert.

Lowest point of the game after the mandatory Ayaka dating quest so everything after it just becomes good in your mind. Sumeru AQ did some good double switcheroos it was actually fun to watch

I actually liked the idea of there being some civil war involving visions and isolationism VS opening up, but there really weren't any fights or quests with a big enough scale to sell the "war" vibes for me, and Raiden just sort of being forgiven was pretty stupid. Yoimiya's quest was pretty cute, though.
Sumeru I felt was slow to start, but then I got really into it when the whole Samsara quest was introduced. Maybe it's just the Star Trek nerd in me coming out, but the whole time-loop setup was interesting to me. I also think the desert is pretty kino, so I was happy to finally get around to exploring it. Liyue was "meh" overall, but I still have fond memories of it because I like Zhongli as a character, and it was around the time that I finally started to take the game a little more seriously; it took me a while to even start his archon quest, and before then I didn't even think to ascend most of my characters or weapons, so it was an interesting time, learning how to build characters properly.
Mondstadt is Mondstadt. I liked it a lot as an introduction to the game. It was more light-hearted and easy to follow, but maybe I'm just looking at it through rose-tinted glasses. I still play mostly Mondstadt characters too, so I kind of have a soft spot for the region.

For me Mondstadt trumps. You weren't expected to have a certain element in your party at all times for the sake of exploration, nor did the story meander or winding itself up ad infinitum. It wasn't by any means the pinnacle of writing, but it was short and to the fricking point.
Liyue started the trend of becoming a museum tour and listening to characters go on and on and on about things that happened thousands of years ago that has little or zero relevancy to what is going on right now.

Sumeru, at least parts 1 and 2, were very well structured. Constantly giving you new upgrades, constantly giving you new mechanics, the verticality is ridiculous and they constantly played with that, the desert's entire underground cave system was incredible, and the fact that all of it interconnects with a majority of the rest of the map was astounding. Yeah, it really sucks that the rainforest is gatekept by the Aranara so if you explore before doing that you do get roadblocked, but overall I was incredibly pleased with what I got.

Ei is half an archon. Her brains "Makoto" died, leaving her to make decisions. And that's actually her weakness. Ei is dumb as frick.
Ei is written as autistically as possible. I can't recall anything she's done that isn't her following the flow of others.
Literally her second personal quest where she finally understands that she's expected to guide and rule instead of simply sit around, maintain status quo and maybe protect against crises if any. It was all her. Her fight against Shogunbot is symbolic of her overcoming her past preconceptions. Inazuma is a mess but it's not like the ideas weren't there.
Yes? In the end, she doesn't get rid of the Shogunbot. Not only that, what can you say she actually does for Inazuma? Everything is still done by the trii-commision. She does a lot of vague shit behind the scenes. The actual work of an Archon is vague, but everything sort of falls under that "They do a lot of things, just don't question it" logic. The reason Jean is so overworked is because Venti isn't doing his job, so she has to make up for him. Regardless of how it seems, Rex Lapis and Raiden Shogun both actually do work behind the scenes. Rex Lapis' "death" resulted in a massive increase in workload for the Liyue Qixing. Likewise, Nahida alone is able ot make up for the loss of five of the six Sages, including the Grand Sage.
Different nations have different political structures. Inazuma is pretty much self-sufficient without her. And we know this because she dipped out for 500 years after Makoto died. The robot that took her place might as well been stamp of approval for whatever the Kanjou commision because all it could understand was 'GOOD FOR ETERNITY Y/N?'. There is no need for her in present time other than to be a mascot. She's the british royal family pretty much.

I'm not burned out but I definitely agree it's very underwhelming. It just feels bland like everyone else says, it feels like a "I've already been here before" region just with slow, boring underwater traversal and combat. I don't get why in the hell they would tie your damage to crabs/seals/manta rays and immediately make you lose it as soon as you exit the water or switch abilities, it feels so garbage. The manta ray one is the only thing that does any good damage unless you want to sit there with a thumb up your ass with the crab waiting to get hit.
The overworld stuff is pretty alright, but it feels like Mondstadt with sharper peaks and more robots.

They mention that the main access to Fontaine is through there, the area is going to be gradually filled with every patch. I still don't get why they started from the back entrance in Sumeru that required them to give new players an unlocked teleporter to the desert instaed of having us access it through Mondstadt or Liyue.
The game would be 10 times more interesting if they dropped the super verbosive dialogue. Dunno why the writers and translators feel the need to tell simple stuff in long cutscene essays.
The world itself should also be about 1/3 its size, since there's technically not much to do other than collect crumbs of gems. Star Rail has the right idea on ideal length.

The japanese is awful imo, most of the made up terms in kanji are taken as-is from the original chinese text. Japanese games often write those kind of things in Katakana or at least have a furigana reading. But the main issue is that the text just isn't very interesting to read regardless of the language.

opened up most of the map but i dont really feel like exploring. fontaine feels like water mondstat with taller mountains and while the underwater is pretty its kind of boring.
I gave up on exploration after the second desert. it won't be long until I drop the game at this rate since I don't enjoy the story one bit and find the characters to be extremely bland even by gacha standard

It was Lynette disguised as her. This is why only the dress is remaining in the tunnel. She probably knocked down the vase while changing her clothes back. Also, nobody went out and the culprit is still in the Opera. Every piece of evidence point to them. The motive is probably related to the prophecy. They are testing the Oracle thing to see how it works, like they said in the Fontaine PV

I haven't played in 8 months so when I come back today to continue the main story I'm treated to a fricking 40 minute talking sequence with zero gameplay and no option to skip or speed up the text. I literally took a shower with auto text on, came back, and found the dialog only advanced two sentences because it wanted a stupid "..." prompt from the player. Then I'm treated to a flashback between two literal who characters that lasted 20 minutes with auto-text on.
After the flashback, the game asked me to wait so I hit start to open the menu and kicked me "out of the domain". So I re-enter and found how I had to go through the whole talking sequence with flashback again.
I hit Alt + F4 and uninstalled. This shit no longer values my time. After gamers suffered through the monotonous and terrible writing of Final Fantasy X, developers made sure to include CUTSCENE/DIALOG skip since. Every single game with excessive cutscenes and dialog has this, except Genshin. Why? All to prevent chinese bots from creating reroll accounts even faster that what they can now. Usually it takes 30 minutes if you speedrun from start to get to rolling but with dialog skip you can probably speedrun it down to 5 minutes. Thanks a lot chink farms.
