Generally in gachas if you have a specific character ter you want you'll be able to get them no problem, the issue comes when you want every single character maxxed out which is where the whaling comes in, except there's nothing in the single player besides an optional challenge mode where this is remotely necessary

Pretty awful. I used around 9k primos. At the end, I "won" the coinflip and got two Ayakas. I rolled Ayaka because I didn't have her and I didn't mind having her, but it's pretty irritating because this game is usually far less "generous". If anything, I only seem to ever have luck when I don't need it. Still, I got Kirara. I don't think I'm too badly off though. I have 7k primos left, and enough starglitter to buy an additional hundred rolls. I probably won't be rolling for a while either if the leaks are true. It was an infuriating result, but it is what it is.
Yoimiya's quest was nice. It was far better than her first quest which was total dogshit and I enjoyed it. I liked Kaveh's hangout too. I don't really engage with the card game much but I'll probably give it another round sometime.
I wish I could just find a deck that'll let me win any duel against an NPC in like two turns. This shit just takes way too goddamn long. This is the slowest fucking card game I've ever played.
I find it comfy.
In the time it takes for me to complete a single duel I can complete the Spiral Abyss. I hate how long this fucking takes.

I really should learn to not roll on banners where I don't want the 5-star, I had spent 60 wishes and gotten 1 Kirara so I thought I could do one more ten pull for C1 without hitting pity but no, Yoimiya at 65 pity. I'm a bit annoyed at myself since I wanted to save for Klee, if I hadn't done that final 10-pull I would be at over 60 pity for Klee instead. At least I have Kirara C1 now.

Tried EM sands for a while for Nahida+Yae+Yelan team. Basically damn near identical to ATK. Go with whatever has the better CRCD.
Em is only really worth it if you are running aggravate. Otherwise it's not worth it.

Yae really only shines when paired with Dendro since she is probably the best off field electro sub dps alongside fischl (c6). You can put a nahida, tighnari or even collei into any stinkfox team and it'll be significantly better than anything you can do with the other reactions. Nahida and Yae are the afk team queens atm.
Switch Bennett for an anemo or hydro character and do electro charges.

the system is indeed painful and unforgiving but in between getting ascension mats and talent materials it's not like you're gonna spend resin on anything else. everything but artifacts are permanent and irreversible upgrades so logically they're what you need to grind for. get new character > spend on weapons and talents > grind for artifacts > save up materials and mora repeat ad infinitum

Is Yae's C1 any good? I got spooked by her trying to get Kirara.
Nearly all of Yae's constellations are good. Her c1 basically means you don't need to build energy recharge on her anymore and can burst once per rotation. Before that her ER requirement is high unless you burst once every second rotation.
That's not too bad then. Honestly I pretty much never use Yae since Fischl is just her but better in every way so I've never felt her worth using but maybe I'll try use her somewhere.
Yae does outpace Fischl at about c1/c2. Fischl is kind of an outlier though because she's top tier as a character. Yae really shines in dendro team though where her turrets can apply a lot of electro.
Turns her into 60 energy burst with the energy refund. It's alright. Can gut most of her ER. C2 is the one to aim for though.

Also you have to watch every single play resolve by itself and can't put any plays into a queue for some weird reason despite the game not having anything like instants or quickplays

It's not enough. Even with Nahida my numbers are so bad that I can only barely manage to 9* the third floor. The fourth floor keeps destroying me. I was able to get 3 stars once, but my numbers are just way too low.
I have a really hard time getting back energy recharge. Keeping my characters alive is also rough. Healing doesn't help as much if I get one-shot. I have a Zhongli but he can't really be in two places at once, and I don't think he does much for my damage numbers either.
I'm not entirely certain how much of it's due to artifacts. Most of my artifacts are worthless, but I've amassed a decent number of good Wanderer's Troupe and Gladiator's Finale artifacts. Would I get better results if I just stopped bothering with artifact sets and just used the artifacts with the best numbers I have?
Go to Keqingmains.com, look for your character and the latest guide or quick guide for them. Use the recommended main stat pieces and try to get ER in their recommended levels or close to and use the recommended artifact set.
If you want to get technical you can use Genshin Optimizer at https://frzyc.github.io/genshin-optimizer
You need to copy and paste screen shots of your artifacts into it, but it will analyze and choose artifacts which are best for your character depending on what's available.
You can also use the Genshin Inventory Kamera from github if you don't mind some work to set it up. This will automatically scan your artifact inventory and you can upload that to the optimizer and it will try and select the best sets for you.
Use Keqing mains. Seriously. Use the recommended set and main stat for your character. It'll help a lot.
Most abyss issues boil down to levels. Either your talents are not at 9 (relevant talents depending on character), you're not at 80-90 for character levels, your weapons are not 90 or your artifacts are not at level 20.
That's 99% of abyss issues. If you're still having trouble post your roster and I'll figure out a meta team you can use to make it easier.

You can only get Kirara on Yae and Yoimiya banners. She won't rotate into standard or weapon until next patch.
It's worth noting the last 2 abyss cycles have had some garbage enemies in them that have given a lot of people issues.

She's a support so her personal damage sucks so GD and other EM/HP 2pc combos will be your best bet.
She's probably the best holder for deepwood on most teams. But if you have someone else using deepwood you should probably just build 2piece HP sets x2. If you're building her to bloom onfield then you probably want the new set built for bloom dps lost flower or something.

I started to play again for the Nahida banner but I had to do Inazuma and Sumeru to get her mats and artifacts.
What does Energy Recharge Requirement mean on pic related mean? I just started getting her gear some days ago and I don't remember that concept.
Energy recharge depends mostly on what kind of artifacts and weapons you have. Just pair her with a second dendro so that they can help with getting dendro particles.
It means she needs at least some energy recharge to get 100% uptime on her Q. 130-160%ish.
until she can use her elemental burst off cooldown. not the biggest deal if you're playing hyperbloom/burgeon with only 1 electro/pyro who's not on-field.
btw you could've gone straight to sumeru right after starting the game to get her mats...
