Genuine question, do you think there's any merit to this?
That Nidoran comparison seems like something, but then others are just animals so of course they're going to look similar.
But I don't know how many monsters exist in the first game, maybe some overlap is inevitable. Thoughts?

The point is that they're just based on the same animal, just like how Palworld didn't copy anything from Pokemon but has pals based on the same animal as Pokemon does. No one is actually saying Pokemon stole the designs, they're using the image to make a point that similarities are inevitable and neither Pokemon or Palworld copied anything.
People aren't accusing Palworld of making designs from the same animals, they're accusing Palworld of literally ripping off design elements directly from Pokemon (possibly using AI). Yokai Watch was also a Pokemon "rip-off" but no-one had a problem with it because it clearly had its own distinct style.
The blue blob shell looks far more like Slowbro's Shellder tail than Omanyte, the others are a stretch
Dragon quest invented bats and crabs anon, don’t you know?
You're THIS close to getting it. You're able to understand that Dragon Quest didn't invent those animals, now think about this idea and how it could be relevant to the past week...
It's harder to defend frenplanet when so many of their designs use the same color schemes and charm points. The cinderace clone is indefensible, there are lots of ways to make a cartoon rabbit.
Yeah you’re right pokemon didn’t invent Electivires either, how could I be so blind
you or morons like you have posted this image daily for months
frick off
It's pure moronation. The controversy isn't over drawing the same animal, it's over tracing an existing drawing of said animal
This accusation has been debunked by actual artists.
Dude, come on.
>gamefreak owns hair
Frick off moron
>mom said it was my turn to post it
Here's your participation (You), enjoy!
It's literally the same design. 5 minutes in Blender to retopologise and reshape very minorly.
Even if it were made from scratch, it's a complete rip-off.
It's not "literally the same design" and if it was this game would have been taken down almost instantly by Nintendo. It's almost the same but there are slight differences and the model is 100% made from scratch.
>draws Pikachu
>it's not literally the same pixels!!
Your image literally proves they aren't the same model. Very, very similar yes but you can see that they aren't the same. If you're having a hard time, look closely at the shape and length of those tufts of hair. The one on the right is thinner and longer.
Why are you defending evil and anti-consumerist billionaire corporations like Gamefreak and Nintendo?
>company isn’t as well known so they’re good!
Delusional, your palslop was made by freemasons too don’t kid yourself.
Worse. Made by Chinese and Indians.
Those monsters have completely different artstyles. The fact that they're based on the same animals is entirely irrelevant, all that matters is the art since that's what is covered by copyright/IP laws.
Aren't Dragonite and the Great Dragon both supposed to be based on dragons? How come they don't have the exact same proportions? They could have at least used the same colors to show that they are both dragons but they didn't so clearly something is wrong here

No one is actually accusing Pokemon of stealing from Dragon Quest.
