People who played the demo a couple days ago said that a new mechanic introduced in this game is that sometimes while you’re stopping crimes as either Peter or Miles, the character you’re not playing as will sometimes swing in to help you out, or already be there stopping the crime when you arrive.
I think Miles' character sucks but is also more fun to play than Peter. Unironically wish he was more like Spiderverse Miles instead of just "Peter if he was a black kid".
people sorta got it twisted, the first one was good because it had a really soulful art style and took risks you don't expect out of big budget studios

He’s a dude who tries to do the right thing, but is willing to betray trust or to lie to do what he thinks is right. He’s willingly to make the ultimate sacrifice, as we see at the climax of his game. I would say he relies on his family a great deal, as we can see him receiving guidance from his mom (meow), his uncle, and his father.
He’s got the patented Peter Parker-nerd thing, too.
I’m really interested in how they handle the family aspect of it; if the inclusion of the Family Business suit is any indication, his web of support may be his greatest asset.

He's not as smart though. He's lazy and doesn't really care as much as the people around him do about that aspect of him because he cares far more about sampling music. He also relied heavily on Ganke to make the suit, make it flame moronant, make the FNS app, to be his info man, and more and only added to what he was doing every once in a while. We even see in 2 he went to a music school or something like that instead of focusing on science.
He was much more into the nerdy stuff when he was younger but as he's grown up he's more about the things his family and Peter taught him, using his smarts more for on-the-fly thinking and readjusting when things go badly. Peter is better at planning, Miles is better at doing without thinking.

He's a go-getter when he wants to be but in general until he became Kilometer Morales he was going with the flow which his mom and Aaron both imply, and losing his dad broke him as a person with Phin adding to that. FEAST and his powers were the only things that managed to convince him otherwise.

in one of the dev Q&As that came out yesterday the guy kind of pressed him on the issue about is this a sequel to the first game, or a true sequel for both characters. he gave a lot of corporate non-speak that implied miles is a B-plot
he will have his own little character arc but peter is the backbone of the main story, miles is basically robin
I quit the first one around the time Mile's dad dies, did I quit before the good part or what? I liked swinging around but the combat wasn't too interesting and the bosses up to that point just kinda sucked. I think the completion rate said I had 30-40%.
I might pick it back up then. The combat wasn't too bad, I liked how you could web the tough guys to walls which made them a lot easier to deal with on spectacular mode. Just got it around the same time as DMCV and that has been my go-to action game for the past couple years. This sequel does look better with the venom mode though.
The enemies do get harder in the last third because the Sable Soldiers are constantly on you and the DLC gets much more irritating with more difficult enemies and guns everywhere.
Miles is more if you want enemies on you all the time because they require conditions like his Venom abilities to allow you to hit them, you have more whip-esque enemies with the sword users, and gun users are as frequent as they were in the DLC.

I went the whole game to realizing that combining gadgets or knocking enemies off of rooftops was a valid strategy. I didn’t even use webs to stick people to the walls or ground either.
I like that they changed the gadgets to actually be thematically consistent
it /bugged/ me they had gadgets like anti-gravity wells and shit. With tech like that it makes no sense
so they seem to have gadgets that do the same thing but are web based instead like the grabber does the same thing as mile's gravity bomb except it just shoots out weblines to suck them in, and same with the launcher instead of just making them hover in the air its like a web line attached to a little drone that lifts them off the ground

The anti gravity and concussive blast gadgets can only be gained by completing Taskmaster’s challenges, so I alway thought that the explanation was that Peter was stealing from him to make them.
Can you at least learn about what you’re talking about before you say something about it. Symbiote Spider-Man in this game is also going to be functionally different with the new powers and animations that reflect how angry and brutal Peter is becoming, and he even has his own Devil Trigger.
Web of shadows had some of the most fun/best spidey combat. Body surfing, aerial juggling/fluid web striking, and some basic wall crawl combat moves but that's more than most other spiderman games where he's only able to crawl walls/bounce strike off of walls.
One of the last OMD writers(and marvel editorial) decided that they wanted to cuck spiderman again and shove in good guy Norman. Peter got stabbed with Norman’s sins. It's as moronic as it sounds.

There's an option to literally skip them if you hate that shit. I like little puzzles like that in games so I don't mind but it's nice to skip all the garbage in repeat playthrough

I'd give this series a chance if they didn't push Miles Morales, the main example of tokenization being eaten up by consumers I've seen, so much. Also, MJ is absolutely awful in this, and Black Cat has never been less sexy, they butchered every character, probably due to an agenda more than anything, and it's annoying to see it accepted, or even praised, as it often is, it's a real shame...
I'm glad we'll always have Spider-Man 2 on PS2, and Neversoft's Spider-Man too, true classics.
Still, I hope all of you excited for this get what you've been looking for, it looks polished and well made, as Insomniac's titles often are, and who knows? Probably one of my favorite suits from MM, the idea that Miles incorporates his Unc's style and tech is pretty cool. This and Peter's Anti Doc and Dark suits were among the best for me.

That suit's actually a gift from his uncle you get after finishing his side quest. The coolest to me is probably the suit you get for cleaning up all the Roxxon and Underground bases, it has a unique finisher animation where Miles generates some back limbs from the suit due to it being able to morph on the fly.
I haven't played the original, or the Miles Morales spin-off... because I hate Miles Morales. It pisses me off, because they look like the most polished Spider-Man video games, well, ever... so, how do I leave my resentment for tokenized characters, in this case Miles Morales, aside to be able to enjoy this? I want to play it and have fun, but I despise current Marvel and its agenda so much that it's a bit difficult due to them pushing this stuff here.

I would say he relies on his family a great deal, as we can see him receiving guidance from his mom (meow), his uncle, and his father.

I’m really interested in how they handle the family aspect of it; if the inclusion of the Family Business suit is any indication, his web of support may be his greatest asset.

He's not as smart though. He's lazy and doesn't really care as much as the people around him do about that aspect of him because he cares far more about sampling music. He also relied heavily on Ganke to make the suit, make it flame moronant, make the FNS app, to be his info man, and more and only added to what he was doing every once in a while. We even see in 2 he went to a music school or something like that instead of focusing on science.
He was much more into the nerdy stuff when he was younger but as he's grown up he's more about the things his family and Peter taught him, using his smarts more for on-the-fly thinking and readjusting when things go badly. Peter is better at planning, Miles is better at doing without thinking.

He's a go-getter when he wants to be but in general until he became Kilometer Morales he was going with the flow which his mom and Aaron both imply, and losing his dad broke him as a person with Phin adding to that. FEAST and his powers were the only things that managed to convince him otherwise.

Because Spider-Man was Peter's game, Miles was Miles' game, and now they're teaming up because they're partners so of course they'd share equal amounts of time. As it is they had to make Peter go with MJ and leave everything to an only somewhat trained Miles to get the veents of MM to work.

I quit the first one around the time Mile's dad dies, did I quit before the good part or what? I liked swinging around but the combat wasn't too interesting and the bosses up to that point just kinda sucked. I think the completion rate said I had 30-40%.
That's roughly when the story starts moving because you start investigating Martin and start seeing things unraveling elsewhere.
I might pick it back up then. The combat wasn't too bad, I liked how you could web the tough guys to walls which made them a lot easier to deal with on spectacular mode. Just got it around the same time as DMCV and that has been my go-to action game for the past couple years. This sequel does look better with the venom mode though.
The enemies do get harder in the last third because the Sable Soldiers are constantly on you and the DLC gets much more irritating with more difficult enemies and guns everywhere.
Miles is more if you want enemies on you all the time because they require conditions like his Venom abilities to allow you to hit them, you have more whip-esque enemies with the sword users, and gun users are as frequent as they were in the DLC.
My screenshots do support what you say, I just seemed to remember him shouting it a couple times besides the second or third episode.

I like that they changed the gadgets to actually be thematically consistent
it /bugged/ me they had gadgets like anti-gravity wells and shit. With tech like that it makes no sense
so they seem to have gadgets that do the same thing but are web based instead like the grabber does the same thing as mile's gravity bomb except it just shoots out weblines to suck them in, and same with the launcher instead of just making them hover in the air its like a web line attached to a little drone that lifts them off the ground

The anti gravity and concussive blast gadgets can only be gained by completing Taskmaster’s challenges, so I alway thought that the explanation was that Peter was stealing from him to make them.

Web of shadows had some of the most fun/best spidey combat. Body surfing, aerial juggling/fluid web striking, and some basic wall crawl combat moves but that's more than most other spiderman games where he's only able to crawl walls/bounce strike off of walls.

Spider-Cop was real suit at one point in development, and even had it’s own suit power, but it got cut for reasons.

At least the science puzzles fit Peter's character, with him being a genius and all. Plus, you can enable the option to skip them. There's an option to literally skip them if you hate that shit. I like little puzzles like that in games so I don't mind but it's nice to skip all the garbage in repeat playthrough

I'd give this series a chance if they didn't push Miles Morales, the main example of tokenization being eaten up by consumers I've seen, so much. Also, MJ is absolutely awful in this, and Black Cat has never been less sexy, they butchered every character, probably due to an agenda more than anything, and it's annoying to see it accepted, or even praised, as it often is, it's a real shame...
I'm glad we'll always have Spider-Man 2 on PS2, and Neversoft's Spider-Man too, true classics.
Still, I hope all of you excited for this get what you've been looking for, it looks polished and well made, as Insomniac's titles often are, and who knows? I might stop despising Miles Morales and these characterizations at some point, maybe enough to give this a chance, if they add a Spider-Man and Shocker chase I might try it out for that alone, TAS was something else really.

Probably one of my favorite suits from MM, the idea that Miles incorporates his Unc's style and tech is pretty cool. This and Peter's Anti Doc and Dark suits were among the best for me.
And the Spirit/Ghost Spider suit. Not's Gwen's the flaming skull one
That suit's actually a gift from his uncle you get after finishing his side quest. The coolest to me is probably the suit you get for cleaning up all the Roxxon and Underground bases, it has a unique finisher animation where Miles generates some back limbs from the suit due to it being able to morph on the fly.
That’s the Programable Matter suit, and it’s basically the Miles equivalent of the Anti-Ock Suit.

I haven't played the original, or the Miles Morales spin-off... because I hate Miles Morales. It pisses me off, because they look like the most polished Spider-Man video games, well, ever... so, how do I leave my resentment for tokenized characters, in this case Miles Morales, aside to be able to enjoy this? I want to play it and have fun, but I despise current Marvel and its agenda so much that it's a bit difficult due to them pushing this stuff here.
