my first guess would be that update changed kernel version, but didn't update grub. try advanced option and see if you have multiple versions to choose from, if yes, try using older one, it could be still there
no wait, i'm saying dumb shit, older version would load from main menu if it'd still be there and grub wouldn't be updated. you can try manually updating grub from external system on a pendrive (simple shit, one command, google it), or you can just hit up steam support and that's probably a wiser option of two

Grub is a boot manager for multiple OSes. You just pick the OS you want to load from the list shown. Common for dual Window/Linux installs.
