And I think that is how I'll play games in the future too, with some rare exceptions, like if there is another online game that grabs me like Titanfall 2 or PUBG did a few years ago.
For example, I want to play Baldur's Gate 3 at some point, but right now I just can't justify buying and playing it with how little free time I have and the backlog of games I want to play through.
I'm aware I'll miss out on all the active discussions going on right now, but that's just how it is sometimes.

Depends. Today is the last chance to reveal some sort of limited invasion type option for certain missions or whatever. You're probably right but the metagame issue concerns me more. After the first week you can't do what you want. Takes a minute for the dominant thing to emerge. Everybody needs a week to run into and experience the power of the strong things.

Yes but even before ACVI was announced people have been saying the invasion mechanic would make sense in AC games. They COULD let us assume the role of an enemy AC that gets called in to defend against the player. It would be fricking dank.
just make it so some of the missions can have player ac's attack at certain areas and give the player more money if they kill them. but i wouldnt like doing 90% of a mission, getting invaded, getting my shit rocked, and then having to start all over again

One thing I would like to see in a mecha game, though perhaps not Armored Core, is a totally legless machine. Maybe it has a wheel on the bottom of its torso, but it's propelled by a jetpack-like booster for massive forward speed. Just take Aretha, saw off the legs, and make the core taller and bulkier to create this fricking beastly thing that claws the ground with massive gorilla-like hands to slow down from a boost.

I'm not particularly good at video games and at no point in any AC game have I ever gone negative before. You either reload your save or in the fourth gen you just didn't have to even do that because you got infinite tries for every mission. With missions that are longer than 90 seconds there was no way they weren't going to have checkpoints. You were showed with money in games like Nexus/Last Raven anyways.
I hope they are still giving parts for S ranks though, as well as possibly compounding ammo costs at least.
I've only ever played AC4 and it's not as if I didn't go bankrupt, but the possibility was there.
Contrasting the easier missions with a harder campaign/story mode would work.
You could easily go negative in AC2/AA but nobody who wasn't purposefully trying to get Human+ would ever let that happen, because you'd just reload your save. The meme was to just go to the arena and play worry free because it cost nothing.

You either reload your save or in the fourth gen you just didn't have to even do that because you got infinite tries for every mission. With missions that are longer than 90 seconds there was no way they weren't going to have checkpoints. You were showed with money in games like Nexus/Last Raven anyways.
I hope they are still giving parts for S ranks though, as well as possibly compounding ammo costs at least.
