Critical Role is the cringiest shit ever and probably the worst thing to happen to DND, because it brought in the troons and woke morons who created the wheelchair accessible dungeons and Not-Planescape setting that had no white pypo in it (still their worst selling 5e supplement to date). These were also the same people who made the spacefaring monkey people escaped slaves from an evil white wizard and didn't realize the implications until the community lashed out, lmao.

I love xcom ufo defense and also its later titles wich come closest to crpgs in a way. Currently playing invisible inc wich looks annoying but plays well.
Is there any crpgs western rpgs that really have the main focus on tactical turnbased gameplay i'd like you guys can reccomend?
T. Enjoyed Hardwest and its sequel for example. But doesn't like games where you can just endlessly grind.

I'm really not into warhammer 40k and the price is a bit too high for me to get in now, but i had rogue trader on a list.
Also it was my first crpg. I also was kinda spooked away from bg3 because of the price mixed with looks and writing/voices of divinity 2.
I can totally see people thinking solasta is lame. But something that is sort of milquetoast and bland but unoffensive with combat close to real dnd in case i wanted to try that with friends is easier for me to stomach than more elaborate game with more distinct writing that is actively grating to me. (another good reason I enjoyed xcom, good atmosphere and very little to none at all annoyances)
I tried Jagged Alliance 2 but the interface filtered me for a bit as it was hard to see what is going on. I know it's a darling here, but i thought the writing of jagged alliance 2 was EXACTLY what people here considered lame reddit "pozzed" leftwing pandering, but instead for rightwing gun larpers wich was a turnoff. I won't even recommend JA3 and Wasteland 3 then because they're even less serious
it's not that it's leftwing that i was getting at
i consider myself left of centre
it's the style of "reddit quirky" writing i meant >I won't even recommend JA3 and Wasteland 3 then because they're even less serious
thanks for the heads up
I don't dislike comedy, but it can be very hit or miss more than other themes. It's just that from the descriptions i got from jagged alliance I expected something way more self serious.
I think the last game that truly made me laugh for intended comedy was one certain end of level screen of ZORTCH. It's an oldschool shooter like quake or doom but really wacky physics and enemies that jump around like crazy, maybe not for this thread, but I can really recommend it.
>It's just that from the descriptions i got from jagged alliance I expected something way more self serious
JA2 is pretty serious
I'm not sure if I should recommend RT at all because even it's quite comical
I'd probably recommend Chaos Gate - Daemonhunters then
Not a CRPG just tactics but so serious it's unbearable for me

ah i did look into that
sorry i sound way too picky, but roguetrader still felt like it was sort of normal humans so it was bearable in terms of warhammer 40k
the busy spacemarines shit, as an artgay who likes somewhat normal proportions, is just too fricking much for me >but so serious it's unbearable for me
kek
as for tactical and takes itself sort of serious
i played this (on the right) years ago but it kept bugging out during a cutscene that I couldn't fix
not sure if you can fix it now but it was sort of fun as a puzzley turnbased tactical alien shooter on the side
and i loved how despite the bad art it took itself seriously despite being a little goofy looking
>Jagged Alliance 2, Jagged Alliance 3, Wasteland 3, Shadowrun series and Rogue Trader >I guarantee these games are way better than bg3 and dos2, especially gameplay-wise >Shadowrun >RT >Wasteland 3 >better than BG3 or DOS2

They didn't get any of these people into CRPGs. Everyone played BG3 because it was the super hyped up thing at the time so everyone felt like they needed to be part of the crowd and tried it out. Almost none of the people you mentioned will be exploring the genre outside of BG3
marketing.
so, nothing to do with the developer itself.
that and people generally auck at games and love stories, so you give them a no gameplay self insert sim and people coom
>I'm evil >No there's good in you >Try to become a better person after the bad things I've done? >Nope! >You were kidnapped from the good guys >You were brainwashed >We have your family hostage >Yes, an entire shrine, enough to fit a tribe, all dedicated to a prison for your family >Leave the darkside >Join the light side >You're good now >You don't believe us? Her hair turns white, signifying her purity >Subtly? Character arc? What's that?
The more her quest unfolded, the less believable it became and it ruined her character for me. It's like the writers were too afraid to commit to Shadowheart living with her sins while trying to become a better person and wrote a wattpad-tier arc for her. It also doesn't help that her character, for the majority of the game, is a c**t and doesn't begin to improve until the end of act 2. Compared to La'zel for example, whose character starts changing starting from the end of act 1 and finishes by the middle of act 2
Actually, that's what makes her the most believable character- you see.. Women, fricking suck.
They don't know what they want, they never plan anything ahead, they only have one goal in mind- of which it warps depending on their tastes and what's currently trending. Devoid of all personality, Shadowheart could quite literally be the most 1:1 representation of a modern day woman.
What kind of strawman argument are you presenting? Are you completely ignoring everything that had happened at the end of act 2 in favor of your headcannon?
High player counts after launch are a sign of a bad game. It means they couldn't beat it before so drop it and come back to later. You should be able to finish your game and move on to the next one
>You should be able to finish your game and move on to the next one.
LOL!? This is what publishers that rely on FOTM would love for people to do. Frick this consoom mindset. There is no point in buying FOTM slop when you can do multiple playtroughs of BG3 instead.
Heh, I too am a deep and serious 18 year old in highschool... We're too cool for friends. No one would understand us anyways since we're smarter than all those sheeple...

Go meet your friends for a beer or some football you fricking dork lmao or get a console so you can actually hang out with them
There are all the unique dialogue options classes get. So far i've done Wizard, Cleric and Monk. Liked the Cleric god pecific ones the most. Monk is all zen, calm emotions, balance and shit. Wizard is nerdy arcane crap. >should try Paladin since people say that they have fun lines >should try Barbarian for same reason
No idea if Rogues/Fighters/Warlocks even get class specific lines. Also not sure if Druids get anything.
Not really a zoomer but i personally really enjoyed Wizardry 8, Neverwinter Nights and VTMB but i started late with cRPGs. When i was a teen i was mostly playing strategy/tactics and sidescrollers. >played Warlords before Heroes >dangerous dave in the haunted mansion >Prehistorik 2 >etc.
I really like BG3 tho i'd like it even more if they had not put as many homosexuals in the game as they did.
they added "le sex". Same thing cdpr did with the witcher 3. That's when you know a company doesn't know how to sell more by actually making a good game
many malding manchildren I can tell you that
regardless of how excellent a game may be, according to their specific biases (whether it's popular, includes sex scenes, features LGBTQ+ themes, or includes diverse characters), it's automatically deemed a bad game.
it's soooo lazy, it lets you sidestep the cognitive dissonance of your predictive model being off you don't have to stress about whether your understanding of the world (in this case about the game) is accurate because, no matter what occurs, you always find a way to interpret it in your ways and you'll always feel like youre right
marketing plus D&D is more mainstream than it's been since like the 80s because of venture capitalists hollowing out the tabletop scene to farm normie cattle money
How wacky is BG3? I already don't like Forgotten Realms as a setting because it tends towards wacky kitchen sink fantasy shit but the bear sex in particular really makes me think that I would not like it.
a lot less wacky than dos2 or critical role, but its not completely dark and serious. i would best describe it as a schlocky fantasy movie tone (not comedic or ironic like the recent dnd movie)
>one of the few >you can tell a boss to kill themselves
That's how you spot someone who has never played a crpg
>Dude, it doesn't matter that half the game is complete trash, you can just not play it
>cutscene simulator >brain dead easy combat
wow how did casuals actually enjoy it I will never know
I don't understand how they managed to make such braindead combat
Mass effect and dragon age look like deep tactical wargames in comparison
The combat is easy yet somehow still too hard for Gankertards. I’ve seen so many posts b***hing about how the game makes you “reload constantly” in combat.
Most of the complaints are about random
You have very little influence on the roll of the dice
Whoever came up with "you roll two dice instead of one" should be fricking executed
You can basically guaranteed any noncombat check in the game unless you were to critfail like 5x in a row, even then you could play halfling if you really wanting to remove even that chance. And if anyone is b***hing about combat being too hard due to “randomness” they are literally moronic.
>You can basically guaranteed any noncombat check
How?
I'm really curious >you could play halfling
lol
lmao >combat being too hard due to “randomness”
It's not hard
It's frustrating
It's one of those cases where you just don't let a player impact the outcome
In something like xcom you can always position your character better for a better shot
In BG3 you have OP builds that make the game too easy and frustrating everything else
People are starving for good, honest, triple A games with a start and end made by dedicated white devs with a passion.
Dishonest and live service games are a dime a dozen on the other hand.
The combat is easy yet somehow still too hard for Gankertards. I’ve seen so many posts b***hing about how the game makes you “reload constantly” in combat.
>gets zoomers into crpgs
Ah yes that's why there have been so many smash hit fotm crpgs this year like a survival crafting game and a third person shooter. I'm sure PoE 2 will blow up with zoomers... fricking moron lol.
Maybe venture out of your Ganker safe space and you might notice the new (and renewed) interest in the genre. Even on Ganker, I've seen multiple posts in the vein of: "If I enjoyed BG3, what other games should I try?".
Ah yes so many crpgs making headlines on Steam and Youtube. Let's see what's hot on Steam... hmm.. wow, looks like Baldurs Gate 3 is still the only CRPG far and away as popular as a game in the genre has ever been! But I thought there was renewed interest in the genre? How come zoomers are retreating to genres like open world survival crafting and third person shooters as their fotms of choice?
Really makes one think...
I see the issue here. Your childlike mind is equating 'renewed interest' with 'chart-topping success', with no consideration for intermediary gains for the genre. This conversation may be difficult to maintain, given the unpromising start.
>into CRPGs
no one who played this will go on to play other CRPGs, none of them will go on to play even the other BG games. It was a surprise crossover hit that had lots of selling points (reddit humor, bear sex, regular sex, dating sim, sexy vampire voiceovers), but the combat and D&D elements are mostly forgettable
Wut? This the new gaming virgin cope? Most normalgays won't even touch this shit just by looking at the combat, anything to convince yourself your taste in video games is not nerdy or weird i guess
dress up and romance is 90% of the reason why girls play it.
good dressup is incredibly important for me too
fashion souls isnt some reddit meme but incredibly fricking important for how fun it is to make builds
if i cant do unholy magick booba barbarian or heavy fire black knight in some form i drop the game
>below 20% completion rate >below 50% of people finished act 2 >everyone shits on the garbage gameplay >everyone shits on the garbage nonsensical story past act 1 >nobody really talked about it after a month outside the manjaw homosexualry >got blown out of the water by bootleg rust
people bought it cuz it was the new semi open world multiplayer zoomers could play with each other like palworld, but barely anyone even played much of BG3 unlike palworld
lel
I love that people that got fooled into thinking elden ring is a good game because it's 90% recycled content from previous souls games. It has no good level design, no good enemy design, and some of the worst game design and writing in a AAA game maybe ever. But zoomies clap their brown mits when they see reskinned gaping dragon from DS1 because they've never seen it before
what you describe is mostly das3 for me, but that game atleast was polished and had ok to pretty good levels.
ER did feel kind of more novel in terms of setting even if it wasnt really my thing, but it recycled itself to exhaustion more than das3 did recycling earlier games. AND on top of that just wasted your fricking time and wasn't polished at all.
I feel people who started ER kinda robbed themselves of the magic of playing des and das first by getting to grips with the system and having had too much exposure cheesing their systems already, wich is a shame.
I wonder if we'll see a resurgence in apreciation for the earlier souls titles AGAIN in the future from the "started at ER" generation.
DOS2 was actually my first CRPG, then I played the previous Divinity and that was great too, then BG3 which I liked a lot as well (preferred the DOS2 battle system though to D&D rules, also Act 3 was a huge slog). Am actually making an indie game myself based off how DOS2 plays. I think it's a good balance of satisfying the less hardcore CRPGers goers, and the above average normie gamers looking for something a bit more than what they're used to playing.
The presentation on everything is top notch. Having the dice rolls be actual dice that come up instead shit in the chat log is a significantly better system for getting people into it. It is easy to understand why you failed, you can see the DC (not sure if I like this but it does it well) so you know how hard it was. Its easy to see a 1 and go oh shit luck, but 1 on like a 22 is like whatever I probably didnt have it.
Basically it just set itself up well so that you don't need to really know d&d to play it, where as past CRPGs just assume you know the in and outs of the game and never show or explain why or how something happened.
Inclusion and diversity done the right way.
As in made everyone hot and frickable.
Even the bear is hotter than most women added in "diversity" games made by the big studios.
>presentation on everything is top notch
Do you fricking seriously enjoy seeing that dice roll every time?
Game is fricking dragged out by all those animations
Take them out and it'll be about 40 hours at most
Also voice acting limits the amount of dialogue possible so you get this fallout 4 bullshit when everyone speaks one or two sentences at a time
>Larian gay has never played original Divinity games and doesn't even know what genre they are
Nothing new I guess
Divinity Original Sin 1 was the first CRPG they made
they added an extra breakup scene in the hot fix that makes it so minthara breaks up with dark urge regardless if you resist bhaal or not. fricking ridiculous.
>extra breakup scene
I don't think anyone needs more proof that bg3 is just a dating sim and not a crpg

I really wonder just how much overpriced crap wizards of the coast have sold that will never be used
i'm not even a mintharagay and it doesn't affect me in the slightest but it's still proof their game is broken. that scene was apparently always there but somehow got added in a hotfix, who knows what else they broke.
Beyond Divinity is completely linear and based on cringe quirky team-up between "le good guy" and "le evil dude"
Both games would have been forgotten if it wasn't for Divinity Original Sin

this is all wrong btw
Yeah you need to have at least a 50% Completion Rate like Elden Ring, to talk about getting people into something honestly. That Game was talked about for over half a year everywhere. BG3 was just such a disappointment compared to it. I absolutely despised the Gooner Dialogue and every homosexual in the Game flirting so agressively Character, since i played before the Update that drastically reduced it. Worst was honestly the Combat though. I know DnD4e and 5e are horrible, but in game form it is even worse.
I love that people that got fooled into thinking elden ring is a good game because it's 90% recycled content from previous souls games. The current state of the videogame medium is so bad that people who usually wouldn't play CRPG's will gladly play it just to have something that isn't utterly pozzed.
Because immersive sims are kino 75% of the time, at some moment someone would make a immsim that becomes mainstream
>immersive sims
have a nice day for using this term.
it is a real term chud! but are larian games immersive sims?
no, not a single one of them is.

lightning in a bottle? All their games have been very high quality, and they finally had their breakout hit.

it was worth seeing the salt from other devs
By making Ganker mad. Not that it's difficult.
Nobody that bought this slop cares about CRPGs. It is a cutscene heavy dating, sex and dress-up simulator.

it's not that it's leftwing that i was getting at
i consider myself left of centre
it's the style of "reddit quirky" writing i meant
>I won't even recommend JA3 and Wasteland 3 then because they're even less serious
thanks for the heads up
I don't dislike comedy, but it can be very hit or miss more than other themes.
I'd probably recommend Chaos Gate - Daemonhunters then
Not a CRPG just tactics but so serious it's unbearable for me
ah i did look into that
sorry i sound way too picky, but roguetrader still felt like it was sort of normal humans so it was bearable in terms of warhammer 40k
the busy spacemarines shit, as an artgay who likes somewhat normal proportions, is just too fricking much for me
>but so serious it's unbearable for me
kek
as for tactical and takes itself sort of serious
i played this (on the right) years ago but it kept bugging out during a cutscene that I couldn't fix
not sure if you can fix it now but it was sort of fun as a puzzley turnbased tactical alien shooter on the side
and i loved how despite the bad art it took itself seriously despite being a little goofy looking
>I won't even recommend JA3 and Wasteland 3 then because they're even less serious
>i love BG3, JA3 and W3
Am i a contarian?
>Jagged Alliance 2, Jagged Alliance 3, Wasteland 3, Shadowrun series and Rogue Trader
>I guarantee these games are way better than bg3 and dos2, especially gameplay-wise
>Shadowrun
>RT
>Wasteland 3
>better than BG3 or DOS2
lmao
Lmao
>xcom ufo defense
obviously JA2
ufo:afterlight/aftermath/aftershock
xenonauts
They didn't get any of these people into CRPGs. Everyone played BG3 because it was the super hyped up thing at the time so everyone felt like they needed to be part of the crowd and tried it out. Almost none of the people you mentioned will be exploring the genre outside of BG3
Sex appeal and power fantasy.
not even shitposting. shit like that sells.
Well, technically i liked playing cRPGs before BG3.
t.boomer
marketing.
so, nothing to do with the developer itself.
that and people generally auck at games and love stories, so you give them a no gameplay self insert sim and people coom
Sex sells.
>zero discussion on Ganker
>trust me EVERYbody played it
lol
>I'm evil
>No there's good in you
>Try to become a better person after the bad things I've done?
>Nope!
>You were kidnapped from the good guys
>You were brainwashed
>We have your family hostage
>Yes, an entire shrine, enough to fit a tribe, all dedicated to a prison for your family
>Leave the darkside
>Join the light side
>You're good now
>You don't believe us? Her hair turns white, signifying her purity
>Subtly?
95% chance you're either a virgin or gay
Cope and seethe troony, women are bland and so are wannabe women. Your mental illness is not your personality.
>characters having nuances because they're carrying a heavy burden while their situation keeps constantly changing is now bad
Never change Ganker.
What kind of strawman argument are you presenting? Are you completely ignoring everything that had happened at the end of act 2 in favor of your headcannon?
>normies buy the fotm game
>dont finish it because it drags on too long
>uninstall and go play the next fotm
Woah what a legendary game
huh?
zoom out
this is the most definitive proof that the industry is dead
>indie studio makes high quality game that sells well and is still played by tons of people months later
GAMING IS... LE DEAD!
0/10
>high quality
It's not even as good as BGII
>GAMING IS... LE DEAD!
youre not wrong, but maybe quit talking like a homosexual redditor
>indie studio
+10000000000000 good chinaman points
The industry is dead because people like something you don't like?
High player counts after launch are a sign of a bad game. It means they couldn't beat it before so drop it and come back to later. You should be able to finish your game and move on to the next one
>You should be able to finish your game and move on to the next one.
LOL!? This is what publishers that rely on FOTM would love for people to do. Frick this consoom mindset. There is no point in buying FOTM slop when you can do multiple playtroughs of BG3 instead.
There is nothing to see or do beyond your two Tav and Durge playthroughs.
Your honour mode with the bros playthrough?
I am not 16 anymore
Heh, I too am a deep and serious 18 year old in highschool... We're too cool for friends. No one would understand us anyways since we're smarter than all those sheeple...
Go meet your friends for a beer or some football you fricking dork lmao or get a console so you can actually hang out with them
There are all the unique dialogue options classes get. So far i've done Wizard, Cleric and Monk. Liked the Cleric god pecific ones the most. Monk is all zen, calm emotions, balance and shit. Wizard is nerdy arcane crap.
>should try Paladin since people say that they have fun lines
>should try Barbarian for same reason
No idea if Rogues/Fighters/Warlocks even get class specific lines. Also not sure if Druids get anything.
>High player counts after launch are a sign of a bad game
Time to copypaste that into every steam chart thread
Fricking morons, should've bought BG3 on GOG like i did.
bg3 act 2 clear achievement is almost as much as finishing the tutorial in pathfinder wotr ahievement
>CRPG
Where?
Game looks like shit and it is inferior to BG and Fallout 2
They can have it, done with RPGs honestly
It's so over.
Simple, they didn't. now stop advertising yourselves on my board.
Why do zoomers now pretend crpgs were ever good?
Not really a zoomer but i personally really enjoyed Wizardry 8, Neverwinter Nights and VTMB but i started late with cRPGs. When i was a teen i was mostly playing strategy/tactics and sidescrollers.
>played Warlords before Heroes
>dangerous dave in the haunted mansion
>Prehistorik 2
>etc.
I really like BG3 tho i'd like it even more if they had not put as many homosexuals in the game as they did.
Sseth and its consequences have been a disaster to gaming
By being the designated FotM
they added "le sex". Same thing cdpr did with the witcher 3. That's when you know a company doesn't know how to sell more by actually making a good game
you mean witcher 2 but enough with your bland judaic protestant ethics, you filthy heretic
>2024 march
>Gankerirgins are still acting like BG3 is a complete disaster, serving as a clear indicator of the gaming scene's downhill spiral.
Who said its a disaster?
many malding manchildren I can tell you that
regardless of how excellent a game may be, according to their specific biases (whether it's popular, includes sex scenes, features LGBTQ+ themes, or includes diverse characters), it's automatically deemed a bad game.
it's soooo lazy, it lets you sidestep the cognitive dissonance of your predictive model being off you don't have to stress about whether your understanding of the world (in this case about the game) is accurate because, no matter what occurs, you always find a way to interpret it in your ways and you'll always feel like youre right
>LGBTQ+ themes
Thanks for exposing yourself as a homosexual so I dont have to read your drivel
you jerk off your wiener to troony porn dont even get me started
it wasn't a complete disaster which is a clear indicator of gaming's downhill sprial
marketing plus D&D is more mainstream than it's been since like the 80s because of venture capitalists hollowing out the tabletop scene to farm normie cattle money
By everyone else sucking major dicks in terms of releases.
Still noy playing your nasty ass troony game
>get to moonrise tower
>the town in front has Dead Rising tier psycho encounters for some reason
Just how many writers did this game have?
FOTM, they've already moved on
With the help of the Chinese
How wacky is BG3? I already don't like Forgotten Realms as a setting because it tends towards wacky kitchen sink fantasy shit but the bear sex in particular really makes me think that I would not like it.
a lot less wacky than dos2 or critical role, but its not completely dark and serious. i would best describe it as a schlocky fantasy movie tone (not comedic or ironic like the recent dnd movie)
Bear sex is only if you're a gay romancing a second gay.
Play act 1, enjoy act 2, and drop the game before act 3 like everyone else
>one of the few
>you can tell a boss to kill themselves
That's how you spot someone who has never played a crpg
>Dude, it doesn't matter that half the game is complete trash, you can just not play it
I don't understand how they managed to make such braindead combat
Mass effect and dragon age look like deep tactical wargames in comparison
Most of the complaints are about random
You have very little influence on the roll of the dice
Whoever came up with "you roll two dice instead of one" should be fricking executed
You can basically guaranteed any noncombat check in the game unless you were to critfail like 5x in a row, even then you could play halfling if you really wanting to remove even that chance. And if anyone is b***hing about combat being too hard due to “randomness” they are literally moronic.
>You can basically guaranteed any noncombat check
How?
I'm really curious
>you could play halfling
lol
lmao
>combat being too hard due to “randomness”
It's not hard
It's frustrating
It's one of those cases where you just don't let a player impact the outcome
In something like xcom you can always position your character better for a better shot
In BG3 you have OP builds that make the game too easy and frustrating everything else
>d-do I fit it here now guys???
People are starving for good, honest, triple A games with a start and end made by dedicated white devs with a passion.
Dishonest and live service games are a dime a dozen on the other hand.
buying some AAA slop and dropping it after a few hours isn't "getting into" CRPGs
oh yeah i forgot to mention that bg3 is one of the few games where you can tell a boss to kill themselves and it will actually work.
>cutscene simulator
>brain dead easy combat
wow how did casuals actually enjoy it I will never know
The combat is easy yet somehow still too hard for Gankertards.
PoE is my favorite crpg.
You're a small minority of zoomers. BG3 was just another twitch fad for them like PalWorld.
Palworld is another one of my favorite crpgs.
you seem to be obsessed with zoomers?
The moronic OP thinks CRPGs are big with zoomers now. I'm just giving him a wakeup call. Sim girls only liked it because of the gay vampire btw.
>Ah yes
Anyone starting their sentence with this deserves to be smacked. It seems to be the go-to phrase of the unoriginal midwit.
It was a surprise crossover hit that had lots of selling points (reddit humor, bear sex, regular sex, dating sim, sexy vampire voiceovers), but the combat and D&D elements are mostly forgettable
even on this board there were tons of owlcat game threads following the release of bg3
we're not normies, we're full of rpg autists
sex sex sex sex sex sex sex
that's how.
Wut? This the new gaming virgin cope? Most normalgays won't even touch this shit just by looking at the combat, anything to convince yourself your taste in video games is not nerdy or weird i guess
pick your character
It's probably one of the worst diablo clones that's survived to this day
It totally deserves to be forgotten
you didn'tt pick your character
you never played the divinity games, did you?
Wizard is a lot of fun.
Kys gayget. It's a great game. It is also nothing like Diablo 2.
would be great but I can barely see a thing on 1440p. wouldnt mind a hd remaster
boob sword barbarian
good dressup is incredibly important for me too
fashion souls isnt some reddit meme but incredibly fricking important for how fun it is to make builds
if i cant do unholy magick booba barbarian or heavy fire black knight in some form i drop the game
lel
what you describe is mostly das3 for me, but that game atleast was polished and had ok to pretty good levels.
I wonder if we'll see a resurgence in apreciation for the earlier souls titles AGAIN in the future from the "started at ER" generation.
t. hasn't played bloodborne and Sekiro yet
>CRPGs
don't lump a real RPG in with your shitty autism genre
Basically it just set itself up well so that you don't need to really know d&d to play it, where as past CRPGs just assume you know the in and outs of the game and never show or explain why or how something happened.
>dice that come up
No it's not. This shit just eats time.
Take them out and it'll be about 40 hours at most
Also voice acting limits the amount of dialogue possible so you get this fallout 4 bullshit when everyone speaks one or two sentences at a time
You know you can click to skip those, right?
You're still forced to watch the beginning and end of the animation
You also can't skip combat animations which is fricking absurd
>It is also nothing like Diablo 2.
It's literally diablo 1 clone
c'mon thats nowhere near fallout
i'll play the game when its actually finished because the devs are treating it like they're still in EA.
>gets boomers
I already liked cRPG's like BG1-2, NWN, Planescape ect. So I was already well into it.
>Larian gay has never played original Divinity games and doesn't even know what genre they are
Nothing new I guess
Divinity Original Sin 1 was the first CRPG they made
I don't think EA could afford to hire Larian.
Larian ass already belongs to chinks
i meant early access.
they added an extra breakup scene in the hot fix that makes it so minthara breaks up with dark urge regardless if you resist bhaal or not. fricking ridiculous.
>extra breakup scene
I don't think anyone needs more proof that bg3 is just a dating sim and not a crpg
It's good that most of these people's experience with dnd ends with buying some merch and putting it on the shelf
I really wonder just how much overpriced crap wizards of the coast have sold that will never be used
i'm not even a mintharagay and it doesn't affect me in the slightest but it's still proof their game is broken. that scene was apparently always there but somehow got added in a hotfix, who knows what else they broke.
>Gets boomers, zoomers, COD bros and sim girls into CRPGs
really? what other CRPGs are those people playing after BG3?
Uhhh... Last Epoch I guess and... hmm... erm...
Shut up Chud! People still love clunky slow topdown trash! BG3 was NOT a fotm!!!
do people that like bg3 care about playing bg2?
divine divinity is such a great game I don't want to break the first time someone plays it
Most zoomers will be super filtered by the combat and character building.
Already forgotten despite months and months of endless shilling. Definition of flavor of the month.
Because BG3 is a call of duty of CRPG's.
you randomly find this in the elven ruins
What's the difference between Divine and Beyond Divinity? I hardly ever see people talk about Beyond Divinity.
directors cut frick everything up
Beyond Divinity is completely linear and based on cringe quirky team-up between "le good guy" and "le evil dude"
Both games would have been forgotten if it wasn't for Divinity Original Sin
beyond divinity is spiraling into hell, with good loot
cut the chain
you'd have to play them to understand. the originals are really fun if you have peroneal time to frick around
>personal
I didn't mean the flower.
I didn't watch the gay emies
I feel like dude has childhood trauma because he wanted diablo 2 lod or neverwinter nights but instead got shitty divine divinity instead
you forget about the temple of elemental evil
>he was a nameless
ALL of the female companions except Jaheira (an old ass character) are mentally ill biprostitutes of the girlboss archetype it's not even funny
>Gets boomers, zoomers, COD bros and sim girls into CRPGs
God I hate them
Better than anyone in BG3 by a mile
you look like a homosexual
op. I hope you fail, and realize you're mistakes
>below 20% completion rate
>below 50% of people finished act 2
>everyone shits on the garbage gameplay
>everyone shits on the garbage nonsensical story past act 1
>nobody really talked about it after a month outside the manjaw homosexualry
>got blown out of the water by bootleg rust
people bought it cuz it was the new semi open world multiplayer zoomers could play with each other like palworld, but barely anyone even played much of BG3 unlike palworld
>everyone shits on the garbage gameplay
>everyone shits on the garbage nonsensical story past act 1
>nobody really talked about it after a month outside the manjaw homosexualry
>got blown out of the water by bootleg rust
this is all wrong btw
Yeah you need to have at least a 50% Completion Rate like Elden Ring, to talk about getting people into something honestly. That Game was talked about for over half a year everywhere. BG3 was just such a disappointment compared to it. I absolutely despised the Gooner Dialogue and every homosexual in the Game flirting so agressively Character, since i played before the Update that drastically reduced it. Worst was honestly the Combat though. I know DnD4e and 5e are horrible, but in game form it is even worse.
that butthole has 10 butt cheeks
i tried to start it up like 4 times and couldnt get past act 1 because of gamebreaking bugs
I love that people that got fooled into thinking elden ring is a good game because it's 90% recycled content from previous souls games. It has no good level design, no good enemy design, and some of the worst game design and writing in a AAA game maybe ever. But zoomies clap their brown mits when they see reskinned gaping dragon from DS1 because they've never seen it before
trust imp merchants
The current state of the videogame medium is so bad that people who usually wouldn't play CRPG's will gladly play it just to have something that isn't utterly pozzed.
40k us fricked
what do you guys think about the old ones?
I'm more of a fan of the "older" ones
that must be expensive
They are...
OH NO THEY ARE HERE Black personMAN SAVE ME I'M GOING INSANE
dress up and romance is 90% of the reason why girls play it.
Most men only played it for Shart. Be real.
i played it because i enjoyed the original sin games like the majority of people that weren't sold on normoid marketing
Dress up is reason I play RPGs too, if the armor looks like shit I aint wearing it, easy as.
I steal shit from the kid king. especially his throne
Sex sells
Simple as
It's an actual roleplaying videogame, it gives you unlimited freedom until you start the 2nd part of the main quest in act 2
