How much of an issue is the 6 gb of VRAM for RTX 2060 in the newest game?

PS4 has 8gb vram so not good

PS4 ran at 30fps without DLSS and without any texture settings you can adjust, moron.

Why are you saying "without DLSS" like it's a bad thing? Ideally you'd NEVER want to use any form of DLSS because it's upscaling aka lower resolution. If you ever use DLSS you're not playing at a native res. Should be OFF at all times tbh. Playing at upscaled lower resolutions is peasantry.

            >t. Third world peasant coping with his 1070

            DLSS looks great.

              >DLSS looks great.
it looks like shit at 1440p and I can only imagine how bad it looks at 1080p, the only reason DLSS is acceptable in some games is because of TAA being baked in which is almost as bad looking.
DLAA on the other hand, now that's awesome.

                >DLSS literally looks like native
yeah native with TAA that is.
DLAA > DLSS any day and it brought back the age of crystal clear video games.

                Soulful blurriness vs soulless clearness

I game at 4k and it looks really good at quality settings. Even in games where I don't need it I turn it on for the motion and picture clarity.

                >DLSS literally looks like native
yeah native with TAA that is.
DLAA > DLSS any day and it brought back the age of crystal clear video games.

Most games don't run well with DLAA. Am I doing something wrong? At dlss quality settings I get higher frames and a really good looking picture.

                >Most games don't run well with DLAA. Am I doing something wrong?
DLAA is essentially native so duh games are hard to run at 4k, that picture I took was DD2 at 1440p with a 4080, runs pretty well.
not sure but 4k might be the cutoff point where you start barely seeing a difference, at 1440p you can definitely see the difference between native and DLSS.

Have you overslept the last 5 years? DLSS is as good at native res nowadays, gramps.

It's not that he's a luddite, he's an impoverished shitskin trying to convince himself he's a chad for sticking with a GPU from 2014

              >last 5 years
DLSS only became good in 2021, and it wasn't supposed by a decent number of games until 2022.
DLSS 1.0 to 1.9 (2018-2020) sucked ass, it was completely unusable. DLSS 2.0 (2020) looked decent in still images but fell apart in motion, the ghosting was unbearable. DLSS 2.2 (2021) is when it started getting good AND getting adopted by the industry, without Nvidia having to pay developers to add it to their games.

DLSS sucked ass for a long long time. Until all of a sudden it didn't. It followed the same trajectory as generative AI, I guess: AI-generated images used to look like pic related, until all of a sudden they didn't.

isn't it shared RAM, 1-2GB dedicated to the system which leaves 6~ GB ram to be shared between the game and graphics

        Anonymous

That's shared RAM across the whole console, anon.

That would've been a problem long time ago already if it worked like that. I was more interested in people's experience with card and its VRAM in latest games - especially those that didn't have a cross-gen release.

PS4 has 5.5 GB of total memory for videogames, the rest is for the OS. And of those 5.5 GB, only about 2.5-3.5 are typically used by the GPU (ie, as VRAM).
As a comparison, PS5 has 16GB of total RAM. 3.5GB are for the OS, so 12.5GB are for games. Of these, around 8-10GB are typically used by the GPU as VRAM.

It's was a PS4 game originally, so it should run fine. Also, the Deck is faster than the minimum requirements.

Well, it being a ps4 game doesn‘t mean the pc port will be as well optimized for similar power hardware

DLSS is trash when motion is involved.
Can't understand people not seeing it...maybe they use bad monitors with such bad clarity, like forced motion blur.

I hope everyone gives the game a chance. It is one of the few things I played on PS5 that I truly enjoyed. Sure, it isn't super innovative. But it's solid and has a lot of nice attention to detail. Like an assassins creed game if they actually put some soul into it. And in my opinion, it is still the best looking game around at the moment. So just riding around is fun because the world looks magnificent. The game also has the best title drop ever in vidya, I fricking kneel: https://youtu.be/9T5mIOA1hqQ?t=38s
