    >Sword dex entry: Due to Gigantamax energy, this Pokémon's toxic gas has become much thicker, congealing into masses shaped like discarded toys.

None of that stuff is real, it's just gas taking on physical shapes.

I get the feeling the design didn't start that way, but they made things look like toys so it wouldn't look like Garbodor destroyed a real city and potentially killed people.

More like it started that way cause it's a mass of garbage but those were supposed to be real. It just wouldn't make sense with a sudden transformation though

      Very Shinto.

Even if it were a toy skeleton, it still has a meaning. Garbage results in environmental destruction.

They wrap it in "toys" as a euphemism.

You don't know what shinto means

I guess the horse with mud on it is heavier than the snake made of rocks and steel then, huh

      God, that is moronic.

Yeah yeah and magcargo is twice the temperature of the sun right? Dex entries are non-canon

The whole point of dex entries is to tell how Pokemon function, we have no other source of information

Lol you can clearly tell the wind up thing on the boat was added last minute because they thought it would be too dark to have an actual boat there.

Why did they do that in the same generation where something literally eats a pikachu?

Because it doesn't actually eat pikachu, it uses it as part of an attack (its lore also states its thick as pigshit and mistakes Pikachu for prey sometimes). It was likely conceptualised as a gag from the outset, but Gmax Garbodor was probably meant to be a commentary on trash taking over a city, before they walked it back massively.

the plane, car, and building are all clearly also toys, so it might've been a situation where they decided to turn all the stuff into toys at once

        Not really

I mean the plane has a keyring and the building is made of toy blocks

I just see it as a reference to N's room with all the toys

    >Pokemon can be dead
I can't fricking believe they would put something like that in the game

That's the problem with Gigantamax forms. They aren't real giant creatures who are living in the environment and have actual biology. They're just temporary power ups that appear and disappear in battle.
