Pretty pogtastic game if the devs weren't grifting this time around
>he fell for the nostalgia scam
was there even a single person actually nostalgic for this game
I was but I didnt buy the game because I feared this very outcome.
Don't care, still having fun, still getting games in under a minute, quit being a doomposting homosexual
>i dont even care!
yeah okay bud, see you in the single digits
>crossplays in ur path
>the silent majority of console players
delusion
idk man I get clash matches in under 20 seconds and a good amount of players are console
this
I just wish there was more positive clout around this game because right now people only talk about negatives or it dying again.
I like playing margrave.
Big punchy tank fun.
Since almost no one really plays him I always can just slot in the team.
If I'm front lining I'm playing Knossos or Pakko. I can respect Margrave, but I hate Rutger.
I've been playing matches almost every night since the relaunch and after the initial server fiasco I haven't had any problems. No idea if it's actually failing, but hasn't stopped me yet.
Rutger just seems like the premiere tank.
Great self-sustain, CC, AoE, and Wall is GOATed versatility. Ult is a great escape too.
Whenever I play him, I definitely notice how much easier it is to act indepedent of my team.
Margrave has the issue of he's great at initiating, but he can't really follow up on it after that. So you wind up having to rely much more on the team to clean up for you... which doesn't always happen.
How do you build/play Knossos? I know bleed and armor break are good, but to my tank player brain he's so squishy and has like no real escapes.
>How do you build/play Knossos?
Knossos is less of a tank and more of a walking landmine. He shouldn't be approaching, but if someone approaches him they die.
>but to my tank player brain he's so squishy and has like no real escapes.
Nta but hes a frontliner in name only. You hit the nail on the head, he has no bulk, no mobility, or any real utiltiy. All he has is damage, so if you want to front line you basically have to rely on a margrave or rutger to initiate and soak abilities for you. Otherwise you play and build him like a fat assassin, flanking the opposing team in fights and picking off weakend people.
For the build i find the knock up on dash
with the dash specialist and the more healing passive are basically mandatory. Other than that you can pick what the situation calls for. I like the dmg amp on basic and bleed spear throw with backstab dmg for picking people off. The slow/cripple path on throw is also perfectly viable. Havent really played around with the self buff upgrades i normally just go dmg and more speed.
The worst part is that the game itself still isn't the issue.
It's still just as fun to play as it always has been.
It's issues with development yet again, like no one can work on this game without something going wrong.
Motiga had the development side down, but that doesn't get you money on its own, and they wound up breaking their back trying to jump through hoops to secure funding.
These new guys are probably working on a shoestring budget, but at least they have one.
They just seem really incompetent, so programming issues are making it through the cracks that shouldn't be, and they're taking longer to fix shit.
The problems it has can be fixed though, there isn't anything subjective about them.
As long as the core is still good, I can deal with the bugs these guys introduced until they're gone.
Same, unfortunately the launch destroyed any positivity this game built up the last couple of years. Now normalgays will just see the player number and think"well it died for a reason" again. This game is fricking cursed
the game crashes my console 10 times a day and i dont want to destroy my PS5 so i cant play this game
As someone who's been on the receiving end of a niche thing getting panned, framing every critic as part of some kind of plebian caste really doesn't doesn't help encourage people to give your game a shot.
I know it's hard to not lash out, but you're really not helping your community.
I wasnt talking about critics i was talking about some random person going
>hey i remember/heard about this game
>oh only 600 players on a weekday morning
>oh bad revers from launch issues
>nah im good
Which yes im sure 99% of people from a "plebian caste" will do
>why arent people just ignoring the shit that makes them unable to play! positive comments only please!
>shit that makes them unable to play
none of the issues with the game make you unable to play, they just make getting into a match slightly janky
ya im sure that will be true if you stick ur fingers deep enough in your ear. ignoring the invincible bots will solve the problem too
Where in the op or even in this thread did anyone mention the invincible bots or the shitty matchmaking servers? 99% of this games "criticisms" on here is just lol low player count lol 20 dollars. I know im replying to a shitposter btw dont expect another (You) from me
>ya im sure that will be true if you stick ur fingers deep enough in your ear
i have literally been playing for at least two hours almost daily since i got the game and have run into almost no server issues since the first two or three days
>ignoring the invincible bots will solve the problem too
the invincible bots thing is dumb but that's a minor issue, if you lose a player in a team based game like this you're usually fricked regardless
>anyone leaving a match ruins the game entirely
>minor issue
i am in an actual marketing thread
leaving a match ruins the game entirely
This is true of literally ANY team-based game with small teamsizes. It's a problem in Splatoon. It's a problem in CS. It's a problem in League. Any game designed around small teamsizes is basically over when a team is down a player, regardless of whether or not it tries to backfill with a bot. It's a fundamental issue with the system. The invincible neutral bot bug in Gigantic doesn't meaningfully change this outcome, it's just a goofy way for it to happen, replacing the missing player with something that's effectively a stage hazard.
yea im always seeing invincible bots in every game wow i guess this game doesnt have any problems after all!
>yea im always seeing invincible bots in every game
Bullshit. Invincible neutral bots literally only happen if a player leaves mid-match, and it's not even consistent. I've had several games that spawned normal bots in.
>i guess this game doesnt have any problems after all!
Where did I say that, moron? The game's not flawless, but you're vastly overstating the impact of the bot bug.
Anon why are you putting so much effort responding to shitposters
>doomposting
doom posting is a term invented by shills to deflect all criticism.
>t. doom poster
inb4 t. shill
>No leaver penalty
>in 2024
My sides
>Shillfograph
yes anon i'm sure the guy who draws gay furry men for Ganker is a paid shill
that's even sadder that he does it for free
>how dare someone like games, he should be miserable and only doompost like me
obvious shill is obvious
>unfunny "QUIRKY-HORNY IS MY PERSONALITY" furryman likes the game
Well frick guess im refunding now
>QUIRKY-HORNY
someone's mad because he got banned for forcing the "safe horny" meme lol
some1s mad their game is dead
Or maybe im specifically reffering to how everyhomosexual on this site thinks theyre some cool degenerate for predentding to want to frick any thing and everything and thinks that makes them interesting. Dont lump me in with your gay zoomer twitter memes homosexual
Concession accepted
>Stamina
Dodged a bullet here
What's wrong with Stamina?
I don't like it when a game punishes me for doing things other than standing still.
You can still walk and attack. Only sprinting/jumping/dodging costs stamina. It's mostly there to prevent people from brainlessly doing hit and runs without proper planning, and the melee characters that get the most use out of it usually have ways to regenerate it faster (i.e. Wu's best movement tool having an upgrade that restores stamina on use)
Anon he just said he doesnt want to have to think and plan
There are much more interesting ways of balancing things. Longer recovery time. Extra damage or stun on counter-hit. I simply don't enjoy games that force my character into lethargy because I sprint for a few seconds. That's not fun.
Sprint is infinite as long as you're out of combat, you only run out if you're attempting an escape and failing.
>Longer recovery time. Extra damage or stun on counter-hit.
Extra damage vs fleeing enemies exist and i would not call longer cooldowns or fricking stuns interesting in any capacity. Please never speak about game balance in my presence again.
>force my character into lethargy
Thats not what happens, all it does is preventing you from sprinting/dodging. You can still attack, use abilities, and spam jump to your hearts content. Thank you for complaining about a game youve never even so much as looked up gameplay of. See my point before
Last (You) from me
i dont get the point? 629 is more than enough people to play the game.
you can have a game with 10 people.
TORtanicgays want everything to crash and burn forever, nobody can enjoy their niche game, it has to be DEAD and SHIT and DEAD because then I can LAUGH at how DEAD it is
remember when this site used to specifically exist to discuss niche titles you couldn't talk about other places and if you tried to talk about whatever was popular at the time (like wow or halo) you were ridiculed?
Kek. Gigantic threads died in less than a day without even reaching 200 replies
Not even you gays were interested in discussing the game.
As much as TORtanic fully embodies the gawking bystander effect that is overly pervasive here, it's been over a decade since that debacle.
It predated the largest influx of new users to the site by several years. How much of this cynical hope every game crashes and burns mentality can really be attributed to it at this point?
"le tortanic" has always been a huge cope for gays who like dead games. Its the same shit when you point out that the onirism thread being flooded with pedo shit is for a game with 0 players in the last 3 days, and you will get unironic responses like "Just because not one single person is playing, doesnt mean its a dead game!"
TORtanic as a mindset doesn't actually mandate the anon experiencing it be relating it to TOR. It's just a descriptor for moronic gays like
who seem hellbent on wanting to see a game fail for the sake of shitposting.
New users experience tortanic posting about new titles when they first get here. it's absolutely still shaping new user behavior
Anon, Cyberpunk was only 4 years ago. Not too long after the largest influx of users on the site. The behavior might not be directly attributed to TORtanic anymore, but the mentality is more ever-present than it has ever been.
>Cyberpunk was only 4 years ago
>ONLY
Motherfricker, I thought it was only 2 years....
any idiot who has played a low playercount multiplayer only game can tell you why playing exclusively with 500-600 autistic sweats who have the game solved is a bad thing, the same way playing quake live with 100 of only the most severely autistic players sucks frickin dick. Itd be like playing streetfighter but youre exclusively playing against literal pros
yes but for those 500-600 'autistic sweats' it's fun so what's the issue
i wish ranged heroes would stand near my attack up turrets, it's literally free damage and you don't have to leave your sniper post.
i don't really mind playing against players that are more skilled than me. it's harder to pick up bad habits because they just won't work in the first place. like you immediately know you're out of position because you have tripp on your ass or keep eating stray shots from charnok.
>500-600 autistic sweats who have the game solved is a bad thing
Sounds like youre just a seething normalgay that doesnt actually play videogames
>source:2k hours in awesomenauts, currently 50 hours in gigantic
>500-600 autistic sweats who have the game solved is a bad thing,
Sounds fine to me. If you don't like the community, we can have fun without you.
>playing exclusively with 500-600 autistic sweats who have the game solved is a bad thing, the same way playing quake live with 100 of only the most severely autistic players sucks frickin dick. Itd be like playing streetfighter but youre exclusively playing against literal pros
Sounds like a good time. Unless you refuse to work on your skills, I guess? I don't care that my score is low as long as I learn something and improve.
This.
I played Dirty Bomb long after it died. There was legit only about 120 max people but still had fun raping everyone with air strikes.
its 1:30 on a wednesday
The story here is that the devs can't push out a patch to fix game breaking bugs after a month of the games launch. Players are not willing to put up with so many bugs that waste your time. Embracer is le bad
What do you get out of shitposting about player count for a game you don't play, don't want to play, and say no one's playing? Who is your audience? Are you looking to dunk on the people who play (which you assert is no one) to harvest their grief? Is it just to circlejerk with other people who don't play (because your entire thread is "wow look how none of us play this")?
I just don't get it. Every day I go on Ganker and see a few player count shitposting threads for assorted games du jour. How do you people keep making these threads? What are you even playing if you refuse to play games with player counts that aren't doing Counter-Strike 2 or Fortnite numbers? Are those the only games you play?
Just help me out here.
You are appealing to logic and reason from the minds of people who regularly post on a mongolian basketweaving forum.
The place where multiple people will autistically and ritualistically post the same exact thing verbatim for ten years in a row.
Think it's time you accepted that a certain subset of the userbase uses the site solely to spam buzzwords. That and we probably have a shit ton of bots at this point.
The hobby of the shitposter is not videogames, or any other interest that other boards would imply.
Their hobby is the act of posting and getting attention on Ganker.
As bland and gay as it is, it's really that simple.
Maya's feet
If the servers weren't such dogshit the first week, I'd be better. I'm easily able to find matches tho, I don't have to wait longer than 20 seconds. But for real, what is up with servers never working on launch weekend? So far the worst case of this I think still goes to Diablo III
Servers are complicated and loadtesting (properly) is hard. A lot of devs skip that step (or are forced to due to outside factors) so a server working completely fine in their testing environment gets exposed to the full brunt of production's load and then shits itself.
Autoscaling your servers helps a lot to mitigate this thing, since you can throw more servers in response to higher load, but this can only do so much.
The worst case possible is that your server has some fundamental flaw in its design which makes it completely infeasible to operate at scale. When this happens, you have to scramble together to rework massive parts of the codebase while the entire userbase is on fire and management demands immediate solutions. It's fun.
Bonus points if someone in the team points out the failings in your infrastructure ahead of time, but literally is not allowed to fix it until it inevitably shits the bed.
Thank you for the insight IT anon.
Literally no one said it had to be pay to play you idiot. You're making things up in your head to feel vindicated. Everyone thought it should be f2p because that is how you get people to try games. Also I still find matches instantly anyways.
Does this thing still require the Arc launcher? Only reason I didn't check it out.
Nope
This game makes my PS5 crash all the time. Not just the game, the whole console crashes because of this steamy pile of shit.
>it's only 20 bux are you poor??
Yes. But also I don't feeling like a chump and that's what I'd be if I bought a game everyone knew was going to die in two weeks.
samegay
Here comes the COPE
my favorite game's multiplayer has ~10 players worldwide
it's a 1v1 game though
what game?
If all the noobs have left already then why am I still getting 0 kill 20 death Tyto players on my team?
Because the noobs only left the opposing team theyre always going to be on your team/my team
Because I'm focusing your Tyto to assert dominance.
How do people even die that much on Tyto? If you are really sucking, you can just swoop de woop away with your free purify and then use his stamina upgrades to run forever.
>ever taking the right path on Swoop
>instead of having the best kill secure in the game
>that comes with a free swoop CD reset
If you're going 0 and 20 on Tyto, why would you care about having the "best kill secure in the game"?
If you're going 0-20 with Tyto, a purify won't stop your dumbass from feeding either.
Yes it would? Being moronic and jumping into a backline or fight where all the CC is going to hit you is a big reason why you're probably 0 and 20 on a character with a frickload of mobility.
If it were 0-5, sure.
But 0-20 means you could give him an invincibility button and he'd just fall off the map with it.
I think it's a combination of Tyto being extremely squishy and attracting a lot of new players who hard commit to every engagement.
I am a dota and cs 1.6 player. Will I like it?
It's a unique MOBA. It plays like a third person action shooter and some heroes have better mobility options than others. Watch some gameplay footage IMO.
It's not as complicated as dota and not as twitchy as cs, instead there's a bigger focus on positioning and movement and macro rotations. Also, the time to kill is very slow compared to those games, which can be refreshing or frustrating depending on your expectations.
>Also, the time to kill is very slow compared to those games,
I think the TTK is interesting because it's absolutely slow as frick compared to a "standard" shooter, but it's also a lot faster than normal MOBAs like DotA or League.
it's just very new player unfriendly. i get it, it's a nostalgic rerelease to fans who are sad that the game died the first time ,but there's no way this shit is gonna last longer than a month if every single match is full of pros who have played the game years ago, plus the tutorials frickign suck
>if every single match is full of pros who have played the game years ago,
i have literally only run into like four or five matches that have been majority pro players
maybe it settled down over time, but that was my experience initially
I bought this shit and I will play it and givemy thoughts at 1.9 hours played
t. 6k hours dota
t. 4k hours cs
>No player hosted servers
Who gives a shit? It'll die the exact same death the original did.
Game is a banger, im having a blast
Real talk.
I can understand why certain issues could require a decent amount of debugging to figure out: PS5 crashes, Bot Bug, etc
But why haven't they hotfixed Kajir and Roland?
I really want to know this.
My only guess is some snafu with the console review process that delays updates for weeks.
>But why haven't they hotfixed Kajir and Roland?
It's a small team and they're likely on maximum damage control mode trying to get the servers fully stable before anything else, because a full patch might bring in enough plays to make the servers tank like launch day again. Plus, this game has crossplay with consoles, and consoles usually have a multiple day approval process for patches, so it's better to get multiple things fixed in one large patch than attempt small hotfixes.
It'll never be a popular game
why do half the characters feel like a floaty piece of shit? ezren ghal literally has no hit feedback or meaty sound effects or anything, playing him is like playing as a wet fart.
Wanna know if a game is really popular or not?
Look here
t. randy pitchford
Randy's plan didn't work out.
Hiring shills is cheap.
Hiring actual artists is expensive.
OH NO
Now excuse me while I go back draining people to death as Xenobia.
Don't care. I got my money's worth out of it and will sink with the ship. God bless Ramsay and Uncle Sven. Roland's cool too.
Is there some trick to ending up House Devaedra? At least 60%, maybe 70% of my games I'm put on Aurion.
Take out the cartridge, blow into it three times, hold it upside down or a minute, put it back in, when you find a match hold A B Start
Holy shit it worked
People are acting like this was going to become the next big thing, don't think that was ever in the cards.
It's a buggy piece of a shit but I'm on full copium and enjoying myself anyway.
Anyone wanna play some games?
The only people who fell for Gigantic round 2 clearly did not play Gigantic at launch. It was hot garbage then. What was going to change? Games die for reasons.
Fun for me. Works on my machine. Get matches instantly. Keep seething
Why would I seethe over your low standards? You're like a nig fricking a fat trashy white girl. "BET U MISSIN DIS WY BOI" like not really. Enjoy scraping the bottom of the barrel, mush brain.
Trying too hard
>unbearably laggy in australia
Welp refund time
>20$ price tag keeps Brazilians and literal children out
>shitty servers keeps assuies out
Holy fricking zased. Preordered
They should have brought back Battleborn instead. It was the better game.
This game looks like a complete mess tbh, I watched the offical trailer thrice I can't tell what the frick was even going on in the game and that's not even a real match
